There’s very few places in America where Republicans or Democrats are actually non-existent. Most red districts are still 40% or more blue, and vice versa.
It’s not about praising this guy, it’s about the fact that him being elected is the DIRECT FAULT OF THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR HIM. Pretending to be black in order to win an election is wrong, yes, but at the same time this exposes a truth in society. People will vote for a black candidate solely on the basis of the color of their skin. I’ve seen this happen in the last 2 presidential elections, where people will quickly get on the hype train just because he’s black. Shoot, the Boondocks did a parody episode about this, and it hit the mark so well. I really hope they visit this incident in Season 4, would make for some funny stuff.

This raises a question I’ve been thinking about for a while…Why did Colin Powell never run for President? He was a good mix of both parties and had actual combat experience. He wasn’t a pussy like the left but he wasn’t a gigantic prick like the right. He was just right in that sense. So I wonder why he never ran?
I dunno about the politics but the fact is that most soldiers haven’t been doing too well in federal office the past 25 years. Very little of congress are veterans, and veterans in congress are all very soon to retire in the next decade.

If Colin Powell ran (1996), he would of likely been the first black pres (I think he wouldve run away with the Republican nomination anyways). However, he was prob smart enough not to (or not power hungry enough to) put his family through the ordeal.
