Thats very kind of you Art - considering its your idea im ‘replicating’ for europe. Things pretty busy, a lot of interest around payday time but some definates for now which have kept me busy. A nice 60 odd page thread for my services would be nicer you lucky guy . A nice chap from Neo Empire is happy to sort me a site, I just need to bite the bullet and go ahead. I may have to have a chat with you about a few things at some point… It would be nice to not have to deal with a 70 message limit on SRK lol.
Pricing is in the link in my signature! But for now:
12 Standard TE cover (one that drops in the red bezel) or 21 for 2
14 Full plate TE cover or 2 for 25 and postage is 2.50 recorded or 3 for Full TE (just over A4 hence the hike). I can fit a few into a jiffy bag so thats around it.
I can ship to spain but I’ve just worked out that to Germany its around 14 so probably best to get a few Street Fighter colleagues to share the posting. May be more. May be not, Ill check tomorrow, PM your exact address and I can quote you.
My girlfriend has checked yesterday and today, struggling to get costs below 14. Theres a bunch of german guys PM’ing me, maybe we could sort something out?
Sorry, but I still can’t PM I sent you an email at the address i found at your blog, can we talk using that? (If you want we could also talk through xboxlive or PSN, just add me if you want) I wanted to order a standard and a full plate.
I just wanted to know if we can use Art’s templates for artwork or you have your own and if you can cut artwork (for an extra ofc) like Art does.
By the way of course many compliments to both of you for your great job!
P.S. Why yours and art’s shipping costs are quite higher than a “normal” shipping? Is it because you have to send the plexi with some kind of special shipping to avoid breaking? (NOT complaining just curious)
I’m actually quite close to acquiring an A3 printer, from work. Photo quality HP that I can fit rolls into, not sure what to charge though for that kind of service…
The shipping costs abroad aren’t great, recorded delivery in the UK is a good price and even cheaper than normal post office due to my girlfriends franking account. It is in my best interest to keep shipping down too so no one is pulling a fast one, if anyone can find cheaper delivery I’m all ears…
Aqua, I thought I’d emailed you already, shoot me another and I can chat with you.
Lol, Becareful what you ask for, my friend =). With good business comes great responsibility. I usually run on 4hrs of sleep (5 if I’m lucky), and I’ve only touched SF4/BlazBlue twice in the past 2 months. While I consider myself lucky, there’s also a price for it =). Hopefully you’ll establish good ground on the Europe front. Hey, maybe we should start a Franchise, lol.
Oh, and if you’re wondering why the Photoshop templates may seem to be so slightly off for your cover designs, remember that the templates were aligned for Kinkos printing. This caused very slight adjustments to the template itself to account for printing variances. So while the photoshop templates are a good starting place for making a template, it still requires some final adjustment.
For my shipping I only ship the Plexi’s with Priority International Mail. This is the safest way for me to ship things, as well as the most automated. Priority mail usually starts around $28 - $32 for international, which is why it may be more “expensive” than your normal ground shipping. Adding to my shipping costs are the slight extra fees paypal adds to international transactions. Also, plexi’s are sandwiched by cardboard inserts and bubble wrapping… all of which adds up in packaging material.
If you want more details to my shipping methods you can ask on my thread. I’d rather not thread jack Doomy’s with my details.
Im having some plates sent for other sticks so will offer a broader range at some point. I suddenly too play less SF4 - getting some kind of automated website would be ideal for me but things go steady for now - people have received their plexi’s and am keen to see what they do with them so I’m still relying on word of mouth more than anything. Trouble I have is Europe is a big place and the UK doesnt have as big a scene as the States so I’m getting interest from all over, Spain, Germany and Bulgaria today too! Different shipping prices and trying to arrange something that does not involve PayPal as I do rather loathe them for what they have become. Someone reconmended IBAN as a payment method and am looking into that.
You have the luxury of a cutter at home right? Thats nice indeed, for now I’m having to second guess demand, I do have to ask for permission at work for the CNC’ing, usually not a problem but the rate they are going at is rather iregular. So I get lots cut and hope people pick them!
As you know its hard work to juggle 2 jobs, I cant begin to think how busy you must be. Not a terrible situation though, eh?
Something I quite clearly have to sort out like, immediately… Are you cutting the art for the full plate or standard? I can try and sort you a template tonight if youd like?
Oh btw im very tempted to turn up at SVB myself, I’ll be the long haired hippy looking chap with a suitcase stuffed to the brim with strangely shaped acrylic.
Seriously its an easy thing to do, I can take measurements if people really want them… Whether there will be enough interest to make them is up to you! The more products I have the better for everyone. Im trying to think of a couple of ideas myself at the moment (so Art can steal them). Folding acrylic is a fairly easy thing for me to get done…
It’d be cool if everyone posted photos once they’d installed the plexi, help give some inspiration for artwork. There r so many options i just can’t decide!
