Eternal Fighter Zero

Can’t you IC her 623+ swords to get a loop going? That, or her c.C maybe?

Anyways, I do see your point, but I’d like to get A loop down, because I want to eventually make Nayuki my best.

:smiley:

If we’re talking midscreen…

Swords knock them too far back. You COULD combo off of it if you IC it but you have to do the sword at point blank range.

crouching C does not knock down. Her only normal knockdown is standing C and that sucks in combos for a variety of reasons.

I’m sure you could find some decent midscreen loop combo but I gave up a while ago.

If we’re talking corner, then she has some decent combos from ICed sword.

Something like A sword, IC, standing b, crouching C, jumping b, airdash, jumping b and a bunch of other stuff.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I was thinking of. I guess from mid screen I should go for the ‘ex wall slam’ grab so that I can just continue the combo from there.

Thanks!

Okay, finally managed to get over my apprehension of this game after playing enough Touhou to get a handle on Tasofro’s design sense. Currently playing Misaki and Ikumi. Misaki seems simple, basic, a good character to get into. Ikumi is hawtness incarnate; genocide mode = too good.

Except in all the replays I’ve seen Ikumi always burns a blood stock by doing tornado, as if to prevent Genocide mode?

Currently I’m working on perfecting some air loops for Misaki… (random stuff) -> 2C (IC) -> (run) 5B -> j. 5B (airdash) -> j. 5B (land) -> 5B -> … from full screen seems okayish, as well as ICing 214B. Any other good ones I should know?

Ikumi’s BnB seems to be (stuff) -> 5C -> 236B (IC) -> 426C. I’ve seen J-replays that insert a 5A before the command grab but it’s hard. :confused: And she doesn’t seem to really have any other combos, and I’m not sure how to do her air loops.

I want to learn Misuzu as I like her a lot, but I’m not too hot with the Testament thing she’s got going. :confused:

Kitsune/Chibi: Sayuri’s loop is j. C (at maximum height), air dash, j. A, j. C, land, A, 2C, jump, repeat. The best setups are an antiair 2C and EX slam.

For Ikumi, it is easier to hit a 5B before the command grab. I have seen several loops of her but I still don’t have a “main” one. j. C/j. B, air dash, j. B, j. C is a basic one but doesn’t do much damage. God for cornering, though.

Misaki: my loop is j. C (as soon as you jump), air dash, j. B, j. C, land, B, C, repeat. You can repeat twice with full IC, which you can follow with regular air combos. some people simply do a jump, delayed j. A, B, C combo.

Misaki got a lot of corner combos. She can link a low air 236236A super and ground 236236 super with 2A or 2B.

For midscreen, the best thing is to setup a 623B and use it to send the opponent to the corner. I have seen people sending the opponent to the corner with a sequence of dash A juggles.

Bumping this thread.

My only guess as to why Ikumi players burn off blood is that Genocide mode leaves you with no blood afterwards. Whereas if you burn off some blood with a tornado you can stay on the offense with almost full blood.
Well, you keep her Overdrive as well, decently combo-able move. From one of those replays from the “all.zip,” the Ikumi player did something like combo to dash slash IC, dash up, (another chain here?) command grab, Captain Storm!!.. I mean her Overdrive.

Any hints for Kaori? I’m no good on keyboard so I’m still working on her midscreen loops off 214A/B/C IC and super IC and stuff… her corner loops seem simple enough, tornados till they’re too low for that, 5B till they’re too low for that, 5A > 5B till they’re too low for that, 5A to push them up, then end with like 5C XX whatever (super?) or jC. Unless there’s a better ender, but easy knockdown is preferable for my lack of keyboard fighter skills.
Only combo I have is whatever to 5C XX [66A > 5C]x whatever, 66C. Or hope to randomly hit them out of the air in the corner and loop them :sad:

<edit>
Yay I can do some IC corner stuff now…
Just dunno how to do any good stuff midscreen off her overhead =/

Just a quick bump.

Ok, I finally found my gal, someone I clicked with instantly, Misio. Been playing with her for a week now and I love her, but for the life of me (even with the help of the faq on GF) I can not understand her move list, or rather I have great difficulty doing so.

I know she has to do her 623 to get her element randomly, but what of the moves when she has the element? Doesn’t 22+A, B, or C with the electrical element create a lightning bolt? How do I do the electrical wave and large electrical ball though? She doesn’t have anything else in the electrical element? For the life of me I don’t even know what she has in her fire element, except for the multi hitting special (was it 623 or 41236). She has a darting fire move I can control as well, but I don’t know how to do that either.

As for her combo, this is all I’ve stumbled on when just fucking with her on my own. 66+C, j.A, j.B, jc (jump cancel), j.A, j.B, j.C? I tried doing with the j.C before but forces them to the ground, and IC’ing the j.C does nothing as she’s too slow land (unless I’m fucking this up completely).

In the corner though I have the same thing, but IC’ing the j.C and repeating the first set of j.A, j.B, but then what? Do I stop after the j.B, land, 5.C and continue?

Help me out Vman.

That FAQ isn’t that hard to figure out, nor is it hard to mess around with quarter circles and dp motions to figure out a few moves. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway.

623+A = dp attack that earns you a random element. Must connect, whether blocked or not.

Fire:
236+attack = rapid thrusting move.
214+attack = Fire darting move. First direction is determined by the attack strength, also doable in the air. Can move the second time in any direction by pressing a button+a direction. You lose the element after the move is complete.
236236+attack = Rapid thrust super. Can juggle with it after trip, probably other stuff but I haven’t played it in ages.
214214+attack = Fire darting super. Can be controlled 3 times? I forget. Lose the fire element after move is done.

Thunder:

6+Medium = overhead gained from thunder attribute.
22+attack = lightning strike. You lose the element after doing this.
421+attack = lightning wave. Medium and strong makes you lose the element. EX version is the lightning ball.
236236+attack in the air: air waves stay in place, opponent gets hit if moved into it/them.
641236+attack = She uses her spear as a lightning rod, and shoots a beam straight forward. Seems pretty good, never really used it before. Loses the element.

Desperation overdrive = Needs low life+3 bars.
medium, medium, 25 hard, weak. Activates all moves for an extended period of time, timer appears under the lifebar. Can last through the next round. The aura that emits when doing this super can hit, also.

Thank you honey!

:D!!!

Well, someone beat me at the movelist.

Mishio is not my kind of character, but what I have seen for corner combos is that they setup a sequence of C, 2C multiple times after Instant Charging the fire darting super. Check the trailer of Tales of Twilight Tactics 2. It’s there.

As of midscreen, try doing something like jump, j. B, air dash j. B, land, juggle, repeat.

subscribes to the thread I’ll have some questions when I finish reading everything.

Hrm… in one of the replays, I thought I saw Mai canceling her 6+B sword move. Anyone know how?! I tried so many times, but it just doesn’t cancel for me.

You can’t cancel 6 B unless you IC it,6 C however is cancelable.

Oh oops… I got cancelling an IC mixed up. Can 6+A or 6+B for Mai be ICed? I can’t seem to do it… Is there like a specfic timing to it or do you just have to do it super fast? I believe I saw a 6+B ICed to her 236236+B in one of the replays.

Yes you can IC 6 A/B,you have to IC it as soon as you do the move.

Right then.

I knew that the EFZ cast borrowed moves from different characters in other fighting games, but save for Akane, I didn’t know that each character played mostly similar to someone in GGXX (not having the chance to play GGXX kinda does that you to). So, could anyone tell me who plays remotely like who?

Sayuri = Rugal
Misuzu = Testament
Ikumi = Goenitz
Mai = Johnny
that one tiny girl = Felicia

And random moves taken from other games here and there. None of the characters are exact ports, though. Even Misuzu, who plays pretty much like Testament, has some unique moves in her arsenal Testament doesn’t, and Mai’s got the whole familiar system that Johnny doesn’t.

6A, 6B, and 6C used to be jump cancellable before, but she lost that ability in BME, and now only 6A is jump cancallable. In several replays I have seen 6A > IAD, j. A, ground combo.

To IC them, you just have to do it FAST.

Not only that, but the “similar” moves work quite different, and the character just work different overall.

It is pretty reasonable that EFZ borrows a lot of things from GGXX, since it became the most popular 2D fighter.
