I slouch in my computer chair a lot and my hands are almost always on my keyboard and not my keyboard & mouse. Launchy helps contribute to my laziness, creating a fully-customizeable program launcher that can launch stuff like bookmarks, programs, and shoot, even folders in your file manager. Alt+Space is the default hotkey that brings up the Launchy menu, and from there you can type whatever you want in the window and it’ll open it up for you! I dig it.
Those of you who are Mac users might liken this to a watered-down version of Quicksilver, but there aren’t too many of these kinds of options available for Windows, and this is the best one right now for it.
Awesome shit, although on my computer, my second HD makes a little noise when Launchy indexes it. At least, it looks that way. Just something to think about if you have an HD that makes noise. On the plus side, my HD could just be near death and you won’t hear what I’m talking about. The noise isn’t too bad either way, and launchy is still awesome.
I also have Vistart on my XP, which gives you the Vista start menu, so you can type in stuff there too. I like having both, depending on where my hands are (for instance, if I’m snacking I only have one hand free so Windows key -> type in it is).
The best thing is that, like the Firefox 3.0 Awesomebar, Launchy stores what you’ve gone for before. Less and less keystrokes every time if you launch something from it often.
Also, you can do quick excel type math equations in it too if you need.
I’d like to recommend PathSync for synchronization of two folders.
If you do, click on ‘Ignore File dates’ checkbox.
I mainly use it because of the ‘Local->Remote’ has worked better than Windows Synctoy and Karen’s Replicator, at least for me.
P.S. Don’t use if you think you might lose some important files.
What would you guys recommend for speeding up the general copy process of the computer?
Like when you copy big files from one drive to another? I use TeraCopy, but I must suck at it or something, because I’m not noticing a huge difference.
CS3 has the ability to make gifs and edit them, doesn’t it? I know I’ve been editing small bouts of animation with. Is there different versions or something?
Or do you mean it’s not as comprehensive as Imageready.
the classic tagger is good for anything that needs to be tagged that’s older than 2k9
the picard tagger is complex to use, but it’s the best tagger that i can think of.
cs2 is ass for making gifs, IMO. cs3 does not have image ready which is why i haven’t made an avatar in a loooong time. too lazy to downgrade to a different photoshop.
