After practicing for about 30 minutes, the most I could do was 3 in a row. I’m hoping I can get this timing down right. It seems like any of the shortcuts for mist step will work for the EWGF.
Different than WGF or EX WGF? At this point I think we’re assuming it has the same data as the EX WGF but since there’s no frame or hit data on the EWGF in any official capacity, we’re kind of in the dark.
EX WGF has 7 frame startup, 2 active frames, 19 recovery frames and is +1 on block. It has upper body invulnerability and crushes standing and jumping attacks during the first 8 frames. I haven’t seen anything about EWGF that deviates from that information, but like I said it’s really hard to tell without official data or someone with a programable controller to test it for us.
Ok so i’m definitely getting better at raw EWGF, however i’m failing horribly at canceling into them. Does anyone have a similar problem or have any tips for canceling? Sometimes when I input c.mp xx ewgf i’ll just get a mist with no follow up
I like the D/F,N,D,D/F+Strong for canceling crouching moves but I can’t consistently get EWGF more than once in any of my real match combos anyway.
Yeah, I’m havin the same problem. Hit the lab earlier an ironed out my problems with cancelling into mist step from crouching aswell as getting ewgfs (just ewgfs by themselves) consistently but cancelling a normal into the Ewgf is still a prob. Same deal with WDing into it, happens bt far from consistent
I’ve been waiting until near the end of the cancel window then inputting it quickly so my brain doesn’t turn my hands stupid and cause me to input it more slowly due to it being a cancel.
try it off of stand fierce (because it has a long/later cancel window) to test it out. It’s definitely harder off crouch fierce or low forward than stand fierce due to the shorter window but, it’s a start.
If someone had to validate me I wouldn’t have it be anyone other than you
Yeah, we’re all having the same problem but here’s what I’ve been doing to get used to it. It’s a basic EWGF combo:
stHP>EWGF>stHP>EWGF
My input process is like this: fwd+HP>df+MP/HP>fwd+HP>df+MP/HP. This works because Kazuya doesn’t have a command normal from fwd+HP.
Now for you issue with cr.MP:
crMP>fwd>df+MP/HP. You just have to do it fast. Like as soon as you hit MP, input fwd and then hit df+P.
Edit: fuck that. This works easier:
df+MP>df+MP/HP. Hot damn easy as shit.

I am able to do that with WGF, or atleast I think I am doing WGF only. I can’t really see the visual differences w/ WGF and EWGF

just confirmed damage on j.hp/hk, st.hp, ewgf, st.hp, ewgf, st.hp, ewgf, ewgf does 508 meterless so looking like best mid screen punisher if you got ewgf timing down pact
is there a special timing to getting this in the corner? I always go under them on the third EWGF in the corner.
am I doing it wrong, or can I delay the s.hp a little more than usual and still get the 4th EWGF.
also, instead of the 4th, can we land spinning demon xx spinning demon hook?
in the corner do [normal] xx EWGF, EWGF, cr HP xx EWGF, cr HP xx EWGF, EWGF
midscreen it’s [normal] xx EWGF, s HP xx EWGF, s HP xx EWGF, EWGF as stated above.
at least, so far these seem to be the most damaging.
Is there any player consistently landing ewgf in actual matches (both raw and combos)? I’ve yet to see the high level players do it and since i’m still struggling to get it down i’m starting to second guess myself whether it’s possible to get it 100% down.
honestly… I’m semi-consistent at DOING EWGF… but am quite stuck in implementing it into my gameplay… for now I’m just focussing on s.hp xx EWGF c.HP xx EWGF, but I want to try blockstrings with it… so:
c.mp xx EWGF, c.lp pause EWGF but sadly this never happens in matches lol…
also, since there’s no one who’s as fun as Kazuya in this game for me… I’ve picked up Jin… now I’m trying to throw fireballs with kazuya when I’m more than half screen away ¬_¬.

Same here. I have pulled off EWGF before but the visual cue is hard to see since the difference in color is too much alike.
I’m still having an insanely hard time with this. Does the input have to be exactly f, n, d, df? It is much easier for me to do the mist step with f, n, db, d, df but I can never get the ewgf this way.
Also can someone explain to me how people are getting it with f, n, df? I have only gotten it to come out twice after an hour of practice
I’d focus on the OG motion instead of the shortcut.
Remember to do the perfect EWGF the mist step isn’t coming out at all. Your inputs result in the fastest EWGF possible, you’re not stepping into it.
No, you can input the mist however you like, but to get EWGF you MUST hit DF + MP/HP at the same frame.
