I was order #13 and I received my stick a couple of days ago. When I saw the package greeting me at the door, I was ecstatic.
I will try and provide pics when I can, but I only have a lousy camera-phone. I have quite a few complaints about the build quality of the stick, but I will let the pictures do the talking for me. Frankly, it appears as though his enormous backlog of work resulted in shoddy and hasty workmanship. Despite that, the stick seems to work fine and appears durable, so I will likely not return it. Ultimately, I am thrilled to wash my hands of the frustration this experience has caused me. By the way, BJ has yet to respond to my emails, a full 14 days later. To all the typical white knights who implored people to “be patient” and acted as though voiced grievances were equivalent to being “immature;” please, weasel your way through explaining away 14 days of non-communication. This could have been a pleasant business interaction if he had opted to communicate with his clients, but he chose not to. I’m glad to be done with it.
P.S. I’d like to know if anyone else within the first 18 orders have received their sticks, and learn their thoughts on the end product.
Sweet dude! Yeah, it’s good that at least some of this is coming to an end. I can’t wait to see your stick pics! (and to see exactly what you mean about low quality… that’s kind of a turn-off, I have to say)
And 2 weeks of failed communication (I have a couple texts and emails from MARCH left unanswered, so don’t even talk to me about that :bgrin:) is shady and unprofessional, no doubt. Just trying to keep this thread less of a bashing/flamewar/rant and more informational (and no personal attacks… ETAC may be to blame, but putting this on BJ as a person isn’t cool).
Nothing personal or “weasely,” I assure you. :tup: And congratulations on getting a stick. I started ordering parts to build my own a couple weeks ago, since it could be a very long while until my ETAC gets here.
Here are the pics of the stick I received, and the condition I received it in.
Inside corner splitting left and right. Also note that both hinges were loosely fastened and so I had to take a screwdriver to them to tighten them up.

Rear corners (left and right) appear sloppy and hastily/poorly painted. Also not a fan of the rather noticeable gap between the baseboard and the sides. The side panels were pretty sloppily painted all around. It’s clear that my stick was a rush job.

Molding is not of the proper length, leaving an unsightly gap culminating on the front of the stick.

I’d also like to mention that I specifically requested that the Start and Guide buttons be placed on the left side vertical panel, but those instructions were not followed and they were placed on the top vertical panel.

glad to see that he sent out some sticks, but from what it seemed, he had his boxes pre-made a long time ago and i don’t see how it could have been messed up like that while he was painting it
I guess you get what you pay for from E-T.
Their prices are the lowest, but the product quality and service goes along with that price tag
I suppose with such low expectations, all I care is if it works.
That sucks about the box dude! Other than that, are you happy with it? I mean, it’s performance is pretty flawless?
True, waiting for his parts to arrive you’d expect the blank boxes will be quality, it’s a shame :tup:

If he is back for another year of school then it will most likely not be possible.
If he is done with school, it may be possible since it clears up more time. Sooner the demand for sticks will go down and perhaps it will be enough to gain a handle.
Not sure if anyone that is not “local” will give another shot after seeing what has unravelled.

has anyone received an email from bj in the past couple of days?
i received a text from him this morning sayin that my stick will be done today. thats about it.
he emailed concerning my refund.
