Thanks a lot Threelions! Really nice to see a visual confirmation like this.

Well, it seems like they nerfed tortilla just to make Fajita look a bit better loooool horrible idea, should have buffed Fajita a bit instead. But I am excited for the guac buff, especially the EX one, since its extremely useful and something I like to abuse using anyways

@ReyArt: Far RH damage is 110

Wow. I now feel dumb for doubting the Tortilla nerf at first. And I feel even worse to see that it’s true. Damn. Guac is looking good, though.

are we sure that 3lions has the final build?

Whats REALLY horrible is the fact that they nerfed the stun on cl.hp. Which hurts our RSF’s.

Spark BETTER be fucking worth it.

This is pretty much confirmation that Fuerte will remain low tier imo. No ultra in the world can make up for a nerf in RSF. Faster FA is meaningless if RSF is less useful, which seems to be the case :frowning:

Uhh… not really? Maybe with faster focus, they decided Fuerte could land RSF too easily, so they made it harder to stun. RSF still deals a crapton of damage (for no meter) as a DP punish, and will still leave the opponent with 700 stun.

Free 500 damage for blocking a shoto low forward seems like an ultra that can make up for a small stun reduction on one of Fuerte’s normals. :looney:

@Infil: Ok I might have exaggerated lol I was very bitter when I saw that stun reduction. But Capcom really needs to stop messing with Fuerte’s best tools (tortilla and now RSF). Even if you land FA, RSF is not that easy to do well and is extremely risky, so it deserves to be damaging with high stun if done right. I really hope they didn’t mess up its timing to limit the number of hits possible…

Ultra 2 is good and all, but it is something Fuerte NEEDED to make him more competitive. Giving him ultra 2 is not going to make him top tier all of a sudden, so nerfing him to compensate for it is completely unwarranted.

Its not all that bad so far, let’s wait and see I guess

Why are they nerfing a low tier?Like at all?Yeah RSF with 200 stun per hit( without dmg reduction) was indeed very good, but come on, it’s his best way of dealing damage.Does capcom want to make anyone not have any options anymore?

Apparently they are sending the message that don’t want Fuerte to revolve around RSF. Another poster said that its he had trouble getting more than three hits. So yea…

I don’t know why they felt that bringing Tortilla’s damage down by 18 points would make the move more balanced. Such a pointless tweak.

But it’s pretty sexy that a LK Guacamole in SSF4 does as much damage as an HK Guacamole in vanilla SF4. Fuerte does have problems with opponents who jump back, so it’s a good buff. I’m going to start practicing that instant run stop Guac…

132 damage is a very weird number too, is there any character with any move that has such a number (either in SF4 or SSF4)???

All of these changes are acceptable because it looks like I’ll be able to land the spark once a round.

Fixed.

Yeah its weird. But I’m thinking about it this way. Has anyone ever tried to calculate what moves you land the most in a round? Does Tortilla land more than Guacamole? If lets say Guacamole is used more on average than Tortilla then its a buff. But if its the other way around then its sort of a nerf I think.

I’d say it evens out - how many times have you landed a guac by accident just because the opponent for some reason jumps neutral or jumps forward to you? This time you get a bit more damage out of it.

The big nerf is stun damage on close st.HP for sure.

it’s no great loss to me. IMO, the RSF was never a game changer tier wise in SF4 and it won’t be it SSF4. generally, i think the changes in SSF4 MIGHT make the tiers tighter, but i think Fuerte and some other characters aren’t going to move, if at all, much overall.

I always thought of guac and tortilla as two moves that work well together. The reason is a lot of players like to jump out when they expect a tortilla, so I fake a backrun and then catch them with guac. When they become less jumpy, tortilla seems to catch them off gaurd. So I think depending on the kind of Fuerte player you are, and also the type of opponent you fight, the tortilla nerf / guac buff can go either way as an overall buff or nerf.

RSF is the only thing that kept fuerte competitive…it was a tier-wise game changer because it put him over Dan. if you can’t punish people for getting mind-eff’d while you’re mixing them up for more than 150 damage, Fuerte can’t compete on an even-skill basis with any character. i might be exaggerating for effect, but RSF is essential to succeed with Elf.

Guac trades. they should’ve just taken out the stupid guac trades instead of changing numbers around.
