Good stuff!
totally exciting news! iām so happy U2 is actually going to be good. and faster normals?
thats really all fuerte would need to shoot up the tiers, he doesnt need much- especially now that sagat/ryu have been toned down-
just have to wait and see if any specials changed at all, iām excited
I am soo happy right now, I think I will love Fuerte even more if that is even possible <3
Now if only they upped his damage, Iād be 100% happy
buktooth disagrees: "fuerte: seems completely unchanged. iām not sure where people are getting these claims of ābetter normalsā from"
http://www.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=228252
Iām inclined to believe buktooth over Mr. Wizard. Excuse me while I go cry in a corner.
yeah, if anyone knows about fuerte, itās buktook. wow, among other things, Q-bomb is still going to be crappy.
Just when I chose to believe what seemed like the first reliable info, it turns out to be more than likely false. You know what? I am not buying any info anymore. I will only believe what I see when I get my hands on the game. End.Of.Story.
Ditto that akashwan.
So we agree that Los Fuertes will do the inspecting ourselves?
buk played the final build?
Donāt know. Doesnāt say what build buk played. But Iām just gonna wait. Also. Gen without mk hands is stupid.
I wanna get hype. But I donāt wanna get my hopes up. Ryu losing invincibilityon his dp means safe tortilla will own his face harder.
But letās just turtle and kill the clock. No point going for tostada press due to hype when the reality appears and then backdash ultras us for free
Pretty much. I tried to listen to the podcast just a while back, the speakers almost completely skipped Fuerte on purpose when they were discussing characters, saying that āno one plays himā, even though one of the main testers is Buktooth, who happens to be one of the better Fuertes overall. There is debate over the faster normals, which I assume donāt exist now, but they could have at least talked a bit about his ultra 2 and why it is āextremely usefulā. But they donāt care, so we have to care enough and inspect the heck out of our favorite luchador to know all the changes.
yeah, itās too bad bucktooth wasnāt on the podcast. still, i trust his initial assessment. also, they were playing the retail build of the game. so, you can forget any further changes to fuerte, but it might not turn out so bad because everyone isnāt getting buffs and some characters are getting nerfs.
I raged.
Fuck everything else. Our goal is to win a tournament with Fuerte now. I swear if I win a tournament with him, and I get interviewed, First thing out of my mouth will be: āHey Wakeup SRK! Nobody plays Fuerte? Well, fuck your shit. Your SRK Just got Tortiiiiiiiiiiillaādā
In a last attempt to get some info, I posted this in the Screenshots and Info Discussion:
"@MrWizard: I realize you were not given much chance to talk about El Fuerte, but do you think you can talk a bit about his ultra 2? You mentioned that it was āextremely usefulā, but how useful is it, and in what ways? Me and my fellow Fuerte players would really appreciate some info on this. Also, how sure are you about the faster normals, since it seems that you and Buktooth disagree on this?
Thanks man. "
Here is his response:
āI defer to buktooth since that is one of his main characters. As regards to the ultra, it is a low grab that was grabbing everything and is incredibly fast and moves forward when activated. I only saw it miss once. But buktooth knows more about the character, so you should take his post seriously.ā
I highly respect him for this response because he is being very honest. The hosts are deserving of the real hate because they shut down any chance of him even sharing any kind of info on Fuerte. Also, in a way, his response matches aerosoljunkieās assesment of the second ultra being very fast, so lets hope for the best.
@mr.punk: It seems that only a few characters are getting notable buffs, while everyone else is the same or getting notable nerfs. No one knows how that will turn out for Fuerte, but Capcom messed up since they followed the nerfing path instead of making everyone better (assuming those mentioned buffs/nerfs are really final). But I am very happy to know that Sagat and Zangief got lower HP now, that means less work for Fuerte (IF true of course).
@Densou: I feel you man, I got very outraged when he said āno one plays Fuerte sorry dudeā in such an insulting way. That speaker needs to respect our community, no matter how small it might be. Lets stuff their SRKs with tortillas all the way
So much for getting my hopes up⦠sigh oh well ibuki is lookin pretty good.
They should have given Fuerte a projectile where he throws the pan he carries in his intro to the fight.
The fact that focus attacks are faster now is a huge buff for Fuerte in and of itself. He has the most damaging unmetered combos in the game; my go-to combo off a crumple is 5 RSFs, then run stop cr. MK xx habanero back dash, tortilla for the reset. Thatās 500 damage, plus like a stock and a half of meter build. Then I might mix up a bit before running away for days. Iāve been thinking, and realistically, Fuerte as a character didnāt need to get that much better, he just needed his harder match ups to get a little easier. He needed to be able to land his Ultra more, which will definitely be happening with Ultra 2.
I know a lot of people in here were asking for EX Run to be unthrowable or for Fuerte to get some sort of get off me move, but that would make SF4 more retarded than it already is. Itās like how (stupid) Honda players wanted EX Headbutt to pass through fireballs. Escaping oki pressure is already free in this game, we donāt need more of it; if you get knocked down, you should have to deal with the consequences and guess right. Hate getting knocked down or being put in the corner? Then avoid those situations with proper positioning and good foresight.
The fact that Sagat has less health and gets completely violated by safe tortilla, the match up should be a lot easier. Ryuās SRK FADC Ultra is less dangerous and less damaging, so that helps a lot. Seriously though, Ultra 2 is going to change everything. Like Mr. Wizard mentioned, Buktooth was landing that shit every round. Whether or not weāll be landing it every round a year from now remains to be seen, but I canāt see an insanely fast Ultra becoming less useful over time.
Attacks with cookie cutter Dual Rifle/ M203 AC.
That would be funny. A projectile with massive stun. youād have to pick it up Captain America style.
Once SSF4 comes out, I may just have to get in on it hardcore. I slept on it. woke up. and 'm STILL pissed off
Thanks for trying to get that info though aka
