EL Fuerte's Revenge! ala improvement thread

If we lose Safe Tortilla, we’re screwed… they should buff it so we can catch ALL DPers out of thier DPs >_>

TIGER-TORTIIIIIIIIIIILA!

… ok that sounds too good.

Ultra Spark, plenty time to charge (EX) Q-bomb, Corpse-hop, etc after it.

But…where are the setups… that’s my question. if it has invisibility, it can be a brutal counter vs fireballs

Gigabuster is defined… bad jump ins. poorly thrown fireball

hey guys, here iam again

Hanylokyman: RSF isnt easier, its the same. i only had problems with the delay on the TV.

Tofu Warrior: ultra 2 was in my opinion very usefull. if you see an opponent whiff for example a cr.mk from ryu, you can ultra on reaction. its really THAT fast. just imagine the mixup uses… :badboy: range is not long but if you are close, it grabs instantly. i think in one video you could see me doing safe tortilla, dont really know which one that was. that guy was hell of mashing those buttons with dudley  he was pressing wildly every button when an ex-move hit me

@aerosoljunkie: Just a question, if you are relatively close, do you think the ultra spark is fast enough to punish any attempt of FA from the opponent, even if they dash cancel?

Also, Do you see it being more useful than giga buster in general? just wondering what your prediction is

yes, its very good for punishing stuff like that. it travels a little distance as you could see when it whiffs. so nobody should do FA-fakes on fuerte when he is knocked down

at this time, it seems more usefull then the giga buster but that could be, because its new, fresh, cool and stuff.
time will tell its usefullness

Thanks man, really appreciate your info

Too bad about the laggy TV though T_T

Just posting this from the General Discussion thread:

quick question! was the neutral zone where all button inputs are ignored while running still there? from the vid, it really looked like elf really didnt get any kind of buff, makes me real sad. all this effort put into this character, i think we deserve something

Just curious if there are any more vids coming

Also I wonder, how good is the new ultra at punishing blocked specials? I am hoping it would be a game changer against the harder matchups.

Anything regarding the neutral zone?

Blocked Blanka Ball, Reversal Run, sudden stop, Ultra Spark?

Close HK, wait a bit, Ultra Spark?

blocked ball seems tricky but maybe very well possible.

  • akumas towards air-fb is 100% ultra 2.
  • blocked spiral arrow seems 100% also.
  • blocked hazan from chun (reaction) :stuck_out_tongue:
  • blocked hand/ex-greenhand for sure.
  • blocked thunder knuckle (could probably work).
  • blocked galactic tornado
  • blocked any rekka from fei (:lovin:) probably.
  • blocked hk SK from dict. maybe?

cl.hk? nah.

but imagine instead or with st.lk/cr.lk for tortilla reset in the corner… :coffee:
or after blocked meaty slide on wakeup.
f+mk ultra 2 could be my favourite.

so many new possibilities!

After blocked meaty slide on wakeup? Surely they can jump out of that on reaction.

Surely…

From what I can tell, Ultra II has start up, which means no tick throws. Your opponent will be able to hold up during the flash and just jump out. If it hits on the first frame from point blank range, then we’re in business. Otherwise, no such luck I’m afraid. I don’t like how every new 2D fighter has Ultra/super flashes. In ST, you could catch people walking forward with Balrog’s super and they would just eat it. I generally don’t like meter based moves at all, but I digress…

The reason I’m most excited about Ultra II is the fact that it will rape teleports forever and ever. I just refuse to play Bison, Sim or Akuma as Fuerte, I always opt for Sagat instead. This is pure Theory Fighter 4, but I’m nearly positive that if you do a safe tortilla and they teleport, you’ll have enough time to punish it with an Ultra II. Bison and Sim might recover fast enough to avoid it, but Akuma is fucked and it’d be easy to react to which side he’s going to end up on. This will help him out a lot in those match ups, but I still think I’ll avoid them with my top tier subs. No shame in playing favourable match ups.

Ultra Spark is not a throw. It is a slide attack, and I presume it’s blockable.

(Even if it’s not blockable, it’s a slide move, which means it’s going to have startup. This isn’t a grappler-esque command grab.)

raging demon is a sliding unblockable with no start up at point blank

This. Although im assuming ‘no start up at point blank’ also includes the ‘flash’ animation like in gief’s ultra 1.

And if Spark was a ‘hit’ instead of a grab, and given that it comes out in 3 frames, that would mean we can RSF into it, which would be insane.

Someone needs to play him, get the opponent to block low, and throw out the ultra. We need to clear this up, because we ACTUALLY dont know the properties of the new ultra yet.

its not blockable and from what i experienced playing around a little bit, its startup is super-fast. at least faster than raging demon ultra for sure.
maybe like raging demon super. if not, what i stated earlier, like gief ultra 1.

its only speculation but if its like that, but at least it FELT like it. couldnt count the frames tho lol

If the spark is really fast, I wonder is it possible to RSF cancel into it, even if it is a grab? Maybe I am just dreaming here

Unfortunately id say you are. If its a grab, then we wont be able to, because you can’t grab someone during hitstun.

My dream would be run, stop, spark, but i doubt theyre going to allow that. That shit would be batshit insane.

in that vid where seth is previewing the ultra spark, he does say that its a true grab.

Fuerte - Fuertes normals are all faster now. U2 is extremely good

soooo excited to hear this! wish there was more but im ok with this for now. should help elfs game ALOT!
