EL Fuerte's Revenge! ala improvement thread

Dhalsim. His EX moves are amongst the worst in the game, and his super is very damaging. Every other character in the game gets more mileage out of using each stock individually, or two at a time to FADC. Daigo uses Ryu’s super to great effect, but he’s in the minority there. I guess Rose would be better off saving her meter for super, but really, who gives a fuck? It’s Rose.

I sometimes use Fuerte’s super. You can link LK Super after a shower kick (F+MK), which is very useful considering it’s the fastest overhead in the game. I also like canceling into super off a few RSFs, because super counts as one move, the individual hits don’t scale.

He’s talking about characters that can change the rate at which they descend from a jump. If Ryu, Ken or Akuma empty jump at El Fuerte and he tries to Ultra, they can just EX air tatsu to delay their descent, causing Fuerte’s Ultra to whiff. Dhalsim can air teleport, Viper can using her BK, Rufus can dive kick or EX Snake Strike. That sort of thing. They’re changing their trajectory in the air.

More characters from the new cast will have the ability to change mid-air trajectory, like Juri, T.Hawk and Adon. Add to that Zangief who now has an air ultra, possibly meaning that giga buster is not as effective against him anymore, and I can see Fuerte having more of a hard time landing the giga buster. So I hope they actually improve its properties a bit to not let it be overshadowed by the ultra spark.

If anything that just means we need more power out of it. You get caught by it you deserve to see the star of death shine for you. He doesn’t have anything else damaging.

I think if fuerte had a dive kick it’d be too much.

But I think a command air grab off the run or the fake tortilla I mentioned would be nice.

Run, stop, Guacamole is basically an air grab off the run. Fake tortilla would be great against characters with fast jumps like Blanka, it’d be a safe way to set up Ultra. For characters like Balrog or Sagat, you can do a safe tortilla and if they jump, Ultra anyway.

I just thought of something that could make Gordita Sobat more useful; if it were special cancelable rather than just super cancelable. You could actually motivate me to use it if I could mix up after it.

I would not be sad if they replaced run+mk with run into guacamole just to save me the trouble of inputting it. The problem with that is you can’t do run into ex guacamole, which is what I use to stop the jump back fierce crowd.

I do not know why I posted this.

Love,

whitey

The input isn’t that bad, just takes a little bit of practice. I kind of doubt they’ll make any changes to Gordita Sobat. Hopefully Fuerte gets an entirely new move all together.

By the way, your signature made me laugh, it says so much with so little.

Agreed. Completely.

Also. I think besides giving q-bomb faster startup, how about giving it some more combo Options…like letting it combo off of Close HK, quick way to blast them into the wall.

I doubt Gordita Sobat will be removed in it’s entirety. But I DO hope they do something with it. Skip low attacks, faster recovery, SOMETHING.

Capcom mentioned at some point that they plan to have some wall juggling stuff in general for SSF4. I am not a big supporter of this idea, but if it is implemented then I would like to see some of it for Fuerte through Q-Bomb. Close Hk -> Q-Bomb into wall juggle -> Ex guac sounds like a decent and useful combo.

Quesadilla rainbow bitches

Close Hk -> Q-Bomb into wall juggle -> Close HK -> Q-Bomb into Wall Juggle -> Close HK -> Ex guac/Super
sounds like a decent and useful combo. Make it happen Capcom.

densuo your to funny…but that combo is gdlk…def make that happen

Beyond speculation, have there been any reveals about changes for Fuerte in Super yet?

I don’t think anyone played him at the fight club.

Someone did play him (forgot who) but not much info came out other than the RSF being intact.

Also, that recent update from Capcom on character balance was all about Vega and Guile, since they thought those were the focus when it came to weak characters. No mention of Fuerte which kind of pissed me off. I REALLY hope they don’t consider him as an already balanced character, if they think Guile is weak then Fuerte is on par with him and should be buffed as well. Bufing the damage on the specials and/or normals should not be a difficult adjustment at all and it would help tons.

Going to jump in randomly. I’ve put some input before about his Ultra, but I feel inclined to join my brother chefs. (I’m going to address issues already discussed, but whatever.)

  1. If El Fuerte is missing from future SF games, I will quit the series. End. Of. Story.

  2. Is it 100% official his 2nd alt is an Aztec warrior?

  3. What he needs: dmg increase (which has been confirmed, I believe), more adaptable Q-Bomb, something besides wall jump for back run kick option, RSF knock back animation the same for ALL opponents, and for his new Ultra to be quick-as-shit.

Regarding his 2nd alt. There has been no talk about it, but this Famitsu scan should be considered official enough (I think): http://www.eventhubs.com/images/2010/jan/10/el-fuerte-and-fei-longs-alt-cosutmes-super-street-fighter-4/

The damage increase has not been confirmed officially, which is why I am worried.

The damage output might be fine so long as he got a stamina boost and maybe some new tools. I need to get practicing RSF, but I just want to wait until SSF4 since my arcade stick seems to be having problems with its joystick.

Should we make some kind of stamp kinda thing to put in our sigs our something? That way, we’re like our own little Mexican gang.

I am liking the idea :bgrin:

stamp? I’m game.

A stamina boost isnt an improvement he needs. He needs the damage imo.

And LOL @ Mexican gang. Not a bad idea.
