His second Ultra will mostly be used against opponents who can’t change their trajectory in the air, and non-projectile characters. Rumour has it that it has 3F start up, which is obviously fantastic.
If it has a 3 Frame startup, which is the same as a normal grab, just imagine the huge benefit it grants to Fuerte when the opponent is near him - poke strings are now a bad idea since they can be grabbed out of it by 2nd ultra.
Tired of opponents teching your grab after a blocked or whiffed cr.HK? Do a psychic ultra and let him know his teching days are over.
Almost anyone who try to sweep you and you blocked it? 2nd ultra punish.
Having this ultra as a 3 frame punisher completely changes Fuerte’s game since now the prey has become the predator - when opponents cannot freely use poke-strings or just rush towards you with no fear of retribution due to fear of this ultra, you basically get more freedom in your offense.
And as we all know, it’s fun times for a Fuerte player when the opponent is on the defense.
Of course, that is if they keep it at 3 frame startup…
The one bad thing about it being 3 frames is that it is still possible for opponents to jump out of it when they see it activated. Jump startup is longer than 3 frames but has throw invulnerability.
Not a huge issue, but it’d be nice to have a 0 frame grab like gief…but then it’d be really overpowered.
This is just speculation on my part, but it seems that the 2nd ultra can also punish backdashes on wakeup since it is a slide (need to be a bit psychic with giga buster to punish one). backdashes are one of the safer and easier ways to get out of Fuerte’s mixups, so having a fast starting slide ultra can help minimize the backdashing from the opponent, and enhance the mixup game in general.
If he’s not gonna have fucking combos he should deal more fucking damage with his normals.
Speaking of useless:
Q-Bomb: slow ass start up, out prioritized by other moves in the few combos it’s involved in, horrible recovery, ditto with EX
Solution: either get rid of the lousy ass start up, or make that shit safer on block, it already gets beat by ALOT of things. While we’re at it, it’s charge time/ power should be JUST like Balrog’s. Each button sacrifices something crucial (Guac of that strength, Teching, shower kick, normal slide, dropkick etc)
Fajita Buster: Everyone back dashes, DPs, or is already ducking for fear of Tostada, shit damage for what it involves and how easy its beaten
Solution: Increase the god damn damage and stun, if we’re gonna take the chance to use it, there should be a reward for it
Gordita Sobat: The frame data says one thing, but its uses are non existant, it combos into super yes, but you probably just burned EX to run through something to land it… oops.
Solution: +2 on block, dont push either character away from each other so much so that Fuerte can actually get a block string or something going.
I completely agree, I have never seen any pro fuerte player even bother using it. It doesn’t even knock down the opponent, so doing it is almost like letting them escape your mixup pressure. It needs to be much faster, leads to block string as you mentioned, AND be an armor breaker to even start having a few applications. It needs so much fixing that I think replacing it with a new and more useful move would be a lot better.
No more guac 0 damage trades! Hell, none of the airthrow moves should TRADE, much less for zero damage! Although Abel can juggle ultra off his if he mashes it. :lol:
I agree with Guac trade. Either I should get hit out of it, or you need to get my nuts spinning in your face while you hit the floor.
Yeah Akashawan I’ve seen Gordita Sobat used ONCE by TKD, and I’ve seen a crapton of his vids. I’ve seen Q-Bomb used WAY more then it The Gordita is about as useful as Cammy’s Spin Knuckle
At least one of the kick buttons during back run should do something other than wall jump.
I think they should just replace Gordita Sobat with a shower kick (F+MK) you can do off a run. Preferably both forward and back run, though the back run version would have more start up. If they really like Gordita Sobat the way it works now, it needs to do one or several of these things to be useful:
Hop lows
Hit twice/break armour
Come out faster
Have better range
Be like +7 on block, +10 on hit (this means it could lead into RSF on hit, which is kind of dangerous, so this is the worst suggestion lol)
I agree about giving him something else for kicks out of Back Run. the question is what? Picadillo Jump at different angles/ speeds? A “fake tortilla” that doesn’t go anywhere and recovers fast?, a one button cancel into forward run? a wanna be Hooligan air throw?
I still think Back run should be ungrabbable…

Why not just speed up cl RH? EX Run through fireball xx Gordita Sobat xx cl HK xx Guacamole. would be a very beginner friendly combo.
I think Fuerte just needs a bit more accessibility. There’s just tricks and low damage. If he’s gonna have such low damage, his moves, at least the current useless ones should be faster.
Also. EX Q-Bomb; reduce charge time to same as normal Q-Bomb and add One hit Super Armor,MOAR STUN, keep that nice stun on counter hit. I just fixed EX Q-Bomb.
I concur with 0 dmg Guac trades; makes no sense as it is right now.
I think someone mentioned it before but ELF needs a new target combo. I honestly have NEVER used it in a match. If anyone has a use for it, let me know how you set it up and what to do after it lands.
I agree 100%. Currently Fuerte really has no way of escaping pressure very well, he has no “get the F*** off me” move as someone mentioned, so he should at least be able to run away from grabs, that would help a ton especially against characters with command grabs.
