I am sure we will see more people starting to pick Fuerte up as a main or secondary if he gets properly buffed. He is extremely fun, so if he becomes more competitive then more love for our luchador is on the way
Bring on the chili peppers and the damaging fajitas Capcom!!! I think I am eating Mexican today lol talking about Fuerte always gets me hungry XD
Notice when Seth does cross up j. fierce, cl. roundhouse xx Guac that itâs not a true combo, it only gives him 2 hits. He didnât do the j. fierce deep enough for it to continue the combo. As such, the damage scales less so that would explain why it seems like SSF4 El Fuerte does more damage. If you take that into account, I imagine the damage output is the same.
Unfortunately.
But itâs probably not too late to make changes. Either theyâll give him a damage buff across the board, or alter the damage of certain moves.
Edit: Oh, and if El Fuerteâs new Ultra really does have 3F start up, that basically makes it as useful as Ryuâs super. You can frame punish everything. So when Fuerte gets Ultra, Balrog pretty much has to stop using low roundhouse and Sagat has to stop using low forward, theyâre both -4 on block. LOL, this is delicious. Great move on Capcomâs part, now they just need to buff him a little more. Because the slide has such obscene range I imagine youâll be able to use in footsies and have it pass through fireballs no problem too.
I hear everyone talking about his Ultra and hoping that it goes under projectiles, super fast, and beats normals; this might sound very dumb, but his current Ultra does all of that. I consistently catch people doing Mediums and Fierces, sometimes even jabs if Iâm psychic mode that day (which I sometimes appear to be.) I like the animation, but I donât quite understand its application. Giga Buster is fast as holy shit and has very long range, beats any attempt at an air attack/empty jump. Maybe itâs just a different approach to punishing poke game?
P.S. I think all heâs receiving is a damage boost (Have read half of the thread but just skipped to the last page, so not sure if anyone has already confirmed his technical upgrades.)
The 2nd ultra seems more of a close range punisher as well as a great addition to Fuerteâs offensive setups compared to the defensive and counter nature of the Giga buster.
The ultra spark seems to be faster than the giga buster, with a more forgiving timing aspect. Just like Arde mentioned, it seems that the Spark is more of an offensive option rather than a defensive one, and will help a lot in Fuerteâs ground game. I am expecting the spark to be less damaging (I hope it is not too much of a difference though), since it seems a lot easier to connect than the giga buster.
There might be more to the spark than we think, there has not been a lot of real info on it yet other than speculations mostly.
I agree, faster normals are by far the best way to improve his ground game. I hope Capcom is not thinking that a new ultra for every character is going to solve everything⌠If his normals are still slow, they should at least get a damage boost to compensate.
Its kind of ironic that EX Q-Bomb takes forever to charge and it doesnât even absorb a single hit, while most other characters get to instantly do thier EX armor breaker specials AND absorb a hit⌠really unfair deal T_T
well, most of the other characters (specifically charge characters) can do the armor breaker very quickly compared to elf. I donât think any other character needs to charge for 8 seconds while giving up a button for it
But I agree that Fuerte has other tools to deal with FA, which means EX Q-bomb is almost useless right now, there are so many other options to deal with FA that are faster and safer.
The more I think about it, it seems labeling it as a good mix-up tool makes sense. As long as itâs a split second command grab that people have to perfectly jump out of or theyâre screwed (coughgiefcough)
Yep It would be great if it has both slide and grab properties, that would make opponents really hesitant to put too much pressure on which in turn helps Fuerte to gain momentum.
