EL Fuerte's Revenge! ala improvement thread

I understand what densou is saying but I still feel that way about Q-bomb…

maybe its because im a pad player and cannot afford to get capitlaized off a whiffed qbomb

gordita sobat needs to be removed as was stated early…

I cant wait to see what Super Fuerte will play like

Ultra 2 is going into full effect…but you know something I wonder if it beats out other ultra’s and supers

R.mika would probably be mentioned in a win quote…

well I am also still very inconsistent about RSF so you’re not alone buddy! I just try to practice everyday, I don’t have a talent in executing combos so it will take me a LONG time to do it well. I doubt I will ever be able to do beyond 2-3 into slide consistently, but it won’t hurt if i keep practicing. I am much better with mind games, so i try to master that aspect of Fuerte, but RSF is still very important to learn so I try my best in this regard. Cheer up and keep at it  Not sure about the naming part.

On topic: It seems like the development staff loves Fuerte as mentioned in thier recent interview about BGM music, check the paragraph right after the online lobby screen: http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/jan/12/everyone-getting-remixed-versions-their-songs-ssf4/
Now Capcom, how about you actually prove it by buffing our beloved luchador big time!!!

That reminds me. I’ve heard other staff members saying they like him. Since it seems they all seem to like him, maybe he’ll play a bigger role in the story this time. It’s too bad the fanbase doesn’t seem to think the same way. Maybe the hopeful buffs will change that.

If its true that the development staff like him as they say, then they didn’t do him justice at all. He is a new character, so to make him popular they obviousely have to make him very strong and/or give him more backstory, just to get people to try him out more. He is extremely fun to use and very likable (hence I picked him as my main), but that is not enough for a lot of people to pick him unfortunately.

We don’t even know enough about his new Ultra or any buffs yet, I am really pissed…

Check out Seth Killian demoing El Fuerte’s new Ultra and also using El Fuerte to beat up Balrog:

El Fuerte seems to be doing more damage with his normals/specials.

Compare the damage after each set of attacks El Fuerte does on Balrog (Top Life Bar = SF4, Bottom Life Bar = SSF4). I replicated his attacks in training mode and took screenshots, they are not direct video captured images but the visual difference is apparent enough.

Another thing I noticed is that ELF’s jumping Fierce seems easier to crossup now on Balrog (and possibly in general, fixed hitboxes?).

ReyArt you’re the man! Thanks a lot for your effort. I think it is true that he is doing a bit more damage, and rightfully so. I doubt that Balrog’s stamina has been adjusted since there were no complaints about it.

I kind of hoped that Seth Killian talked more about the ultra and how it adds to Fuerte’s gameplay. He said it is a “proper grab”, and commented on how tricky it was to land the Giga Buster, so I guess the Spark will definitely be more forgiving, but possibly less damaging. I wonder if the Spark goes under fireballs, does anyone have info on this?

Going under fireballs would be a Godsend. Along with the damage boost, does anyone think that the distance in his back dash was longer? I’m surprised that no one is saying how the game now seems to look more fluid in terms of animation and that Fuerte’s st.RH seems to have less recovery.

I’m hoping that Ultra Spark won’t overshadow Flying Giga Buster. At least I can use Flying Giga Buster on characters without anti-air Ultras.

If Ultra Spark goes through fireballs then Ryu better watch out!

Q-Bomb is one of my most useful tricks and I just instinctively charge one at all times. Q-Bomb isn’t a counter move it’s something to keep them guessing. The only time it hinders my gameplay is when I try and charge two or three simultaneously (it’s so satisfying bombing someone 6 times in a row). I don’t think it needs a new input but I think the two best options would be to have charge time be shortened by about 0.5- 1.5 seconds and make it just a bit safer (eg bounce Elf back further and shorten the recovery time).

I just wish Elf’s crouching light punch was quicker by a frame… but most of all…

He needs a get the fuck off me move

awesome work ReyArt and thanks for posting those videos!
im a little dissapointed that seth just showed us only the new ultra and nothing more…

the damage thing is just vusally in my opinion. the lifebar from ssf4 is a little more “kinked” (if you want to call it that way).
but i honestly have no objections if his damage was really tweaked

thanks reyart

to me, it looks like only that initial combo does more damage, as the life lead doesnt increase with every subsequent attack. it stays ahead by about the same amount, if you can follow what i’m saying.

the first combo was the only one with a special move in it, so maybe they just buffed guacamole leg throw damage or maybe all of his special moves in general? i think thats a great sounding buff to be honest.

his backdash doesnt look any different to me tbh

i will probably still use giga buster against slower characters that dont have air moves to keep them afloat longer (sagat, zangief, abel). using giga buster as anti jump works so well. that being said, ultra spark looks like it might be great against characters with air moves or quick jumps or like to stay in your face (akuma, rufus, viper, seth, etc)

Pretty sure it’s been said, but he needs a new R->MK. It’s so useless. Maybe fix his “target combo” to where it actually does something.

so Capcom added some spice in our pot

To me, it looks like both ultras will have equally important uses, without one overshadowing the other. This is a good start to improve Fuerte, but let’s hope we get a lot more spice added XD If its true that his specials got buffed then I think we’re onto something

We need chili peppers the most.

Yes we do so we can have a projectile!

Yes we do so we can have a projectile!

Actually I was thinking of putting them in the Fajita Buster and Quesadilla Bomb. Speaking of which, Quesadillas with fajita meat are divine. Hell, my mouth is watering just picturing it.

He could use some more spice in his Fajita Buster. Like, hmm… 200 damage worth of spice. That’d be hot… (GETIT LOLOOLOLLOLOLLOL!!1!1)

I’m picking up El Fuerte in anticipation of SSF4, I always thought his character design was great in theory, but he just gets shut down in practice by certain characters. The buffs that he’ll be receiving will make him a more rounded out character. RSF loop is hard, I can’t get past 3…

What’s the input on his new Ultra anyway? 720?

I believe it’s 2x QCF + 3P’s.
