Dudley's Overview and Analysis of his Moveset and its Attributes

Frame data as it appears in the Prima guide is up here.

People have told me that EX Machine Gun Blow is punishable by Corkscrew Cross on block. The prima frame data makes that impossible. Is the frame data wrong or is my info wrong?

Also apparently cr.mk is more safe than cr.hk. For reference Dudley’s cr.mk is down the same number of frames as Kens’s cr.hk. Which makes it situationally safe dependent on spacing.

There were DEFINITELY videos of GGM punishing EX MGB multiple times with Corkscrew Cross. I had it posted awhile ago, but they were taken down. I checked that too, so, i’m not sure what’s what. I don’t want to add that to the OP until it has some confirmation.

Is sweep really -8 on block?I thought it was supposed to be safe?In sf3 it was +1 IIRC.And the overhead 15 frames? Is it really that slow? That’s only one frame faster than Sakura’s overhead. It didn’t expect such bad framedata on some of his moves.

15 frames is pretty fast. Super hard to react to, it’s basically just a guess. Another thing to note about it is that it has 4 active frames. So, if done as a meaty, its hit advantage can be anywhere from +5 to +7, making the st. :hk: link super easy.

I honestly don’t see much use for his sweep. I rather just do cr. lk, cr. lp, st. hk xx … instead.

i only said it in the interest of completion.

Haha, it’s all good I was already in training mode with England’s finest pugilist anyway.

Does the rose stuff any reversals? I don’t think it will because if they hit you they get frozen in their invincible frames for around 10 frames. And if it trades…

Honestly I don’t see a point to the rose on wakeup at all besides maybe making it harder to jump out or backdash meaties.

ok so, updated some stuff again thanks to GGM’s guide. Also, i don’t want to really update the frame-data until it’s accepted that the frame data floating around is legit. There seems to be some discrepancies between whether or not it’s good to use. So, until it’s determined, i’ll leave it to your judgment.

At around 24 minutes, Daigo uses Gouken vs. Dudley. It’s not a very good Dudley, however one interesting thing happens at the end of the second round: Daigo counters the overhead with a low kongo. This is of little consequence overall, but it’s something to watch out for when fighting Gouken (who might become more popular with his new Denjin ultra), since it can screw around with the usual mixup.

Yes, for some reason the overhead acts like a low hitting move that does not hit low. You cannot cross counter it.

Frame data for new characters was posted here…

Anyone has a good idea of what to do after a blocked J.HK, cr.lp cr.lp (and then realise you’re too far away to hit st.HK)? f.mk won’t reach, f.hk wont reach and cr.hk will probably be blocked.

In other words: How do I keep pressure after doing a J.HK from too far away, and only realizing that after the first two cr.lp?

Walk up/dash up cr.lp, s.hp, walk forwards f+mk, cr.mp xx lp MGB, s.hk xx ducking. Does lk Short Swing Blow hit? If it does then it’s a good option.

Also this is why you might want to consider doing j.hp sometimes because it doesn’t push as far back.

Just found out in training mode that Dudley can EX Cross Counter into Corkscrew Cross if he’s facing the corner. Works against jumping opponents and grounded opponents.

EDIT: And I’m a dumbass for not reading the other thread, this was already posted in the combo thread… Sry!

I think st.hp would also be pretty good.you could replace the second crouching jab with a standing one, as it is +3 frames on block and allows a frame trap into st.hp , so if they attack you will probably get a counterhit with st.HP, which on counter hit does 162!!! damage (insane damage for a 6 frame normal)

st.jab whiffs on crouching opponents

That’s why i do j.HK > f+MK > st.HK xx ____

Gives you enough time to hit confirm into whatever you like, and if the jump in is blocked it is a safe string which leaves you close enough for a cr.LK or a throw or once in a blue moon a SSB

This may be useless–It looks like the whiff animation of the Thunderbolt can be canceled into super. Or I’m drunk off my ass. Will test tomorrow.
