I think part of the problem is that even characters like Sagat that don’t immediately fit into a stereotype have become stereotypical because of the longevity of these games xD. I mean Sagat has been around for over 20 years so when you think of a Thai fighter you think of a 7’11 eye patched monster.
It’s another thing that’s great about the character designs as well, they are very simple and easy to recognize and they stick to you.
I think SF needs more characters with as much quality character as dudes like Dudley. He’s a cliche but he oozes so much quality personality you just can’t help but love him.

I don’t see a lot of stereotypical characters in sf just homages to certain fighters of the past. One non-stereotypical character was Alex and Gill only thing about Alex was he is apart of the white protagnist thing thats been going on in the past 3 street fighter games
I’m beginning to really look forward to Dudley’s rival battle. As far as play style is concerned I have a lot of respect for Balrog… But as a human being in those games he is unintelligent gutter trash. So I’m trying to imagine that pre-fight conversation… and giggling madly.
It would be interested to see if by beating Balrog Dudley gets a title shot at becoming the heavyweight champ.
Since Dudley is coming back, does that mean Kokujin will be taking the reigns of SSFIV soon?
Kokujin has been playing Ryu a lot in vanilla SF4… he just doesn’t show up on the main radar because he’s not that great at it. He’s only barely Master (40k BP) and he’s played over 10,000 matches, which is pretty insane. To his defense, though, I bet he routinely plays the best players so it’s hard to earn BP. He said in an interview a while back that if Dudley ever was in SSF4 he’d switch to him. Can’t wait to see Kokujin rock pink shirt Dudley again.

Gill holds the stereotype of like, a greek god type character. Sure it’s not racial, but it’s something.
so as much as i want to use Dudley, i have a bad time with half circle movements. how can i improve this? just practice? is an octagonal restrictor better than a 4 way in this case? suggestions? ideas? thank’s guys.
