Yours might not, but their characters totally do, since every second person plays Ryu.
Also, its a joke, calm down.

The information thatâs being given out by Mr.Gotch continues to make this thread valuable and Iâm more than appreciative of any more info that he has to offer. Based on whatâs been said it really seems as though Dudley could essentially be top or high-mid at the least. If we all remember from early beta reports about SF4, Seth was supposedly godlike but it didnât end that way at all. Despite that, what Logan-sama and Mr.Gotch have been saying, it really looks like Dudley has some valuable tools that if someone isnât afraid to hold on for dear life to existing and actually learn him, Dudley could be dangerous.
If thereâs anything that Iâm concerned about when it comes to matchup are: Vega, Guile, Dhalsim, Honda, and Blanka. I hear he fights Sagat well but for some reasonâI REALLY see the characters I just mentioned giving him some initial problems. People hate on characters that can mix them up or require dexterity so you know when tournaments startâpeople are gonna want to find the simplest, dumbest bs to beat as fast as possible. Thankfully (depends on your pov) it seems like Vegaâs normals arenât getting buffed so more likely even though I still think heâd be a potential counter I think once Dudley gets inâeven with the Claw/Mask buff heâll rape Vega if Vega doesnât have meter all.
For Mr.Gotch/Logan-Sama: How is meter building/management in SSF4 compared to SF4? Does it still take 10 years to build meter? In 3s, a huge part of building meter with Dudley was Standing Roundhouse and Standing Strongâthey came out moderately fast and built meter quicklyâalso at certain ranges, Standing Roundhouse was actually pretty good also.
Since in SF4 and SSF4, building meter doesnât come from whiffing normals, how do you think this has affected Dudleyâs strategy in terms of meter management and main and making sure that Dudley is able to punish opponents efficiently with either his Super or combos that require FADC?
In terms of Dudleyâs Focus Attack, is it âsafeâ to say that he has potential to combo into Level 2 FA and then continue a combo from that? I donât mean just doing a naked FAâI mean something like: Standing Roundhouse EX Machine Gun BlowXXLevel 2 FA, dash, Crouch Roundhouse 3x into either Uppercut or Corkscrew Cross?
From what I remember, Jumping into a corner in SF4 with your opponent flux to it would push a grounded opponent outside of the cornerâthat being said, when Dudley knocks someone down via combo, throw, or a move that knocks down in the corner would whiffing Ducking over them cross them up? would whiffing it repeatedly switch sides in the corner? If he still has his Toward+Standing Forward Kick, does this could a corse âwalkoverâ-- I would say hop but heâs not dashing.
I understand that since the game isnât out yet that maybe you canât divulge too much about Dudleyâs Juggle Potential, but seeing how informative both of you have been since the removal of the embargo I figured Iâd ask more in-depth questions.
Thank you for potential contributions.
Note: I understand that these combos potentially wouldnât be high in damage but possibly high in terms of stun and that even if an opponent being hit by these combos or combos similarâit would cause 2 possible reactions 1) A random reversal, be it Ultra/Super, or EX Reversal they can be easily punished which would only add to their stun threshold. 2) They could lock up defensively, depending on how previous scenarios in the match played out and since throws add to stun as wellâboth of these situations give Dudley a chance to dizzy the opponent. So if they do work, I understand damage scaling in SSF4 will most likely be as unforgiving as SF4 but I just basically want to find combos that not only do wonderful damageâbut I also want to find damage that supports offernsive momentum to continue and possibly lead to a dizzy so that I can restart the process again.
Again, thanks for your help.
anti air much?
Is st.HK the same up close as it is far away or did they give him a far st.HK? If itâs the same for both ranges and wasnât changed much from 3s then pokes shouldnât be much problem for him.
Why Blanka?
IIRC sheâs a Bison player. And I can tell you, he ainât anti-airing Gen in that stance.
i use Claw , not such thing im afraid
While heâs not CVS2 BlankaâI think that potentially since Dudleyâs main focus is to initiate Close Range mixups, Blanka has the potential to not necessarily be a cemented counter to Dudley but he has potential to causes problems with consistently applying pressure, unless max range Crouching Strong beats electricity. Besides that, Blanka had gimmicky tricks in SF4 as well so he has some mobility and Dudley players canât count that out. Also, the thought of a Jumping up and down Blanka doing Roundhouse sounds just as retarded as it did in SF4 in the early stages of the game. As as far I know, I havenât heard if Blanka has awesome buffs in SSF4 but if thereâs anything will get buffed I think it would be his normals.
Online flowchart elec mashers arenât an issue reallyâI think beating them might be annoying but not too difficult to do. Iâm talking about people who know how to play Blanka well, aka ShinBlanka, Mizoteru (back when he played SF4) etc etc. There are other players that are good with Blanka but those are the ones that came up off the top of my head.
Fighting blanka shouldnât be too bad if:
a.) you can punish blocked balls with MGB
b.) punish blocked slides with his cr.RH
Or am I missing something?
Talking about very specific things such as frame data is redundant at present as that is still being tweaked. Potential combos and the like are subject to change, but jab Jet Upper being jugglable is a staple at present and I cannot see it being altered.
Or you can punish balls with his ducking straight. Build meter by whiffing short swing back.
You make it seem so easy lolâbut those are actually good basic approaches really. If he can actually do those things it shouldnât be too much of a problem but do Blanka players use ball that much though? Punishing slide shouldnât be too bad since its nowhere near as as good as it is in CVS2 so I think he might able to punish slide.
I didnât realize it was still being tested. I was under the impression that it basically underwent final testing and was wrapped up with whatever information was compiled from top players testing it outâso my apologies for asking very specific questions. Iâm just enthused about using Dudley so I started to think of things I guess I might have had concerns about with using Dudley in conjunction with how potential matchups would go. Plus I got tired of some of the silly discussions that went on in here butâI can test all these things in May.
Yeah my two examples are pretty damn basic, Iâll admit that. Fighting a good Blanka isnât particularly easy. But if Dudley can make two of his tools completely unsafe (iâm assuming both of those moves can combo into ultra) than the fight should be easier for him.
Also, iâm assuming jet upper is good enough that Blanka cant just jump-in on you for free, and if you have two meters you get the free uppercut for the GTFO me move on Duds wakeup.
The tools with which you will create openings are very similar to 3S. The follow ups with which you will get the most damage are different. They have done a good job translating a 3S character into the SF4 engine, and in May we will be able to discover a plethora of new tricks.
Wouldnât Cr. FW be better in that situation? Iâm thinking heâd probably recover before the active frames of cr. RH start, but then again it is too early to talk about frame data.
Have we talked about wake up options yet? Iâm hoping EX thunderbolt would be quick enough to get you out of danger with armor.
Just noticed a recurring theme in these characters: with the exception of Dhalsim, theyâre all charge characters. I definately agree that Blanka seems to be one of the biggest threats at the moment. Dudley always wants to stay in close but Blanka has a plethora of moves for âget the hell off me!â situations.
Thats true, they just switch mains to Sagat!
From what it looks like it seems to me that Dudley can âhandleâ Sagat hopefully that is true so at least while people can still have the viable option to play Sagat, it doesnât mean that other characters arenât an option.
Nah, he says âCorkscrew Crawsâ.
âKouku sukiu kurousuâ (roughly), hai. Listened to it a few times and kept hearing a âBâ sound in it, now not at all
Itâs cool they kept Dudleyâs duck in, especially for low fireballs like Remy has, and Sagat has. Honestly, itâs not* that *good, and anyone with good zoning can stop Dudley from ducking in using well timed fireball.
Iâm just waiting to see if he still has s.RH -> EX MGB -> Juggle potential
