As I recall his Cr.HP was pretty damn good as an AA but I don’t have much 3S knowledge so don’t quote me on that.
c.hp would have been godlike in 3s without parries.
I think I have only seen his c.hp in 4 like once in a crappy video but it seems decent.
s.mk will possibly be good for anti airs above his head
and of course ex dp
I noticed that too, but I think they just decided it was unnecessary for the amount of work it would have to took to implement. It’s too bad
If your missing one frame links in SFIV go play other shit, plenty of people hit that shit 99.99% of the time. It missing at high level means someone sucker punched them in the face.
Mr Gotch, i have another question for you!
after watching the abel/dudley videos, abel wakeup ultras into that grab with super armor. Dudley dart shotted twice i think in those two videos and ate a wakeup ultra. Say you rose him and dart shot, does the rose take off a super armor and allow dart shot to connect, negating the ultra? what about other moves with super armor?
basically, does the rose damage super armor?
i can’t really think of any super armor reversals that don’t have invincibility off the top of my head besides the abel ultra in the video. anyway, it just came to me, so i thought i’d ask.
Once again, thanx for all the spoilers!!!
I think abels ultra has at least 2 hits of super armor.
Im not 100% sure but I think its similar to fuertes run.
“Abel’s new Ultra is really good. It’s a dashing grab which has one hit of Super Armor.”

shrug
Translating stuff from the neoarcade link. Some of the dudley’s shit is just down right SCARY.
Things to get out fo the way:
Mostly everything said about Dudley is already known and tested (now).
One thing; st.HK can be followed with cl.HK and acts as an overhead. It can be used as a reversal and is very good. It’s tempting to use but unknown at this time if it can be very abuseable.
His super acts very similar to 3rd Strike. It can even be combo into from overhead!
- MP, QCF+MP
- DP+LP, DP+HP ( it’s abusable in small doses, however it whiffs mid-screen against crouching characters.)
- HK, QCB+K, K
- cr. HK, U2 (corner, works mid screen but have to be crouching to hit, can easily do 2xcr. HK, U2 )
- DP+LP, U2 ( it’s like dragon metsu, it hit on double hits )
- Jump HP, cr. MP, DP+P
- cr. HK, HCB+K, SUPER
- Jump MK, MP MK HP Target Combo, SUPER
- HK, HCB+LK, SUPER
- HCB+K, U2 ( anti-air )
- Jump HK, HK , HCB+PP, cr. HK, U2 ( Corner only, at mid screen have to FADC Gattling Upper EX (which itself takes 3 bars!) This combo can only open with HK, so good, it’s like a bnb combo but isn’t one at the same time (?) )
- LP, LP , cr MP, HCB+MP ( this rocks, the link is difficult due to the HCB+PP after cr. MPrequiring a slight of hand because there’s no shortcuts)
- Jump HP, F+LP MP,DP+P, FADC, U2
- Jump HP, F+MK, LP, LP, DP+P, SUPER
Moves
Just wondering,
Is his punches safe on block?
Come to think of it, are Balrog punches safe on block?
Is he able to link anything during an overhead punch??
Would his counter still work even if they hit low?
Is he able to use his rose as a projectile in this game?
I didn’t play him much, but does he have a forward low attack and a forward overhead attack?
According to the latest Event Hubs posting, Dudley has 1050 health. Considering his amazing offensive tools, isn’t that a bit much?
He has to get in to use those tools. People seem to forget that. He’s gonna have a hell of a time with Chun Li and Dhalsim.
Maybe the high stun and health are compensating for problems in his game play, just like Akuma having low health for his great gameplay. Then again, in SF4 Sagat has very good tools and they still gave him godlike health so you never know!
50 damage is like 2 jabs of damage, big whoop
Problems with Dhalsim… … if dhalsim gets knocked down there aren’t going to be problems
Getting the knockdown:
very fast dash so FADC dash with input dash to go through fireballs k better options than most of the cast has vs his zoning
Safejump j. RH:
Beats every option of dhalsim except mayber super? as you can punish everything.
f.MK on block:
Teleport > punish easily with whatever
backdash > easy sweep punish probably a lot else
super/ultra win
block > + frames = mixup
hit > jab jab DP (confirmed combo)
f. RH:
hit > st. RH > EX machinegune > whatever
Block > he blocked an insanely fast overhead good for him
reversals win but needs lots of meter for that
Dhalsim gets raped up close and dudleys known options are good enough to answer dhalsims current tools unless he somehow got a buff no ones been talking about.
I would imagine with dhalsim you can just counter poke him to death with cr.LP, cr.MP, standing MP, F+HP, F+MK. Stuff like poke MP buffer his ducking to get in dhalsims face. hell even cross counter if he gets spammy with his limbs.
Chun-lis gonna be a pain in the ass.
Ryus gonna be a pain in the ass too. Hopefully F+mk stuffs the new weaker regular dragon punches on wake-up. But tis been said before, Ryus cr.Mk is gonna be hard to deal with because you can’t really just jump in on him willy nilly.
Is range considered, at the moment, Dudley’s only main weakness?
Projectile characters will pose the most trouble for him?
he has duck and thunderbolt, which aren’t guranteed ins, they at least give him some tools. oh and rose lol.
Dudley has no business with this much power… But Capcom made him the “Chosen One”. And Capcom is god.
Has that even been confirmed? Dhalsim’s anti airs have pretty damn good priority and weird hitboxes. Then he has the option to EX yoga flame too.
Everyone knows Dudley rapes up close on knockdown. That’s what he’s built around. The point I was making is that he will have trouble with characters that are designed to keep him out and have good pokes. You’re not getting in on a good Dhalsim unless you’re already familiar with their play style. Yoga fire + random poke will beat out any focus attempt and the only safe way to get in is going to be timing your approach so that you can focus an attack before Dhalsim has a chance to retaliate. If EX Machine Gun Blow had armor i’d reckon it’d be a bit less difficult. Still, I don’t think it’s going to be anywhere near as easy as you’re making it out to be.
You aren’t going to be able to counter poke a good Dhalsim if they have a yoga fire on the field.
But Dudley has great tools for getting in. He’s got ducking and rolling thunder for going under projectiles, thunderbolt to go over, and EX-machine gun to rapidly close distance. Seems like a hard character to zone.
