Did they give reasons? Didn’t Sagat get nerfed? Or is he still just that good?
Wow, so the word is Dudley will take the no.1 spot. Even with Sagat’s nerfs I didn’t think he’d lose that spot.
Gonna be weird for me playing a high tier for once, I main Sakura and Dan currently so every battle is an uphill struggle Going to be playing a wide variety of characters hopefully, variety is the spice of life apparently :bgrin:
After watching the just vid i hoped everybody else we be buff like the 3S characters but i guess this isn’t true. The other changes made to the other characters seem like nothing to go crazy about.
So essentially this game has become Street Fighter IV - Third Strike Edition.
Though i like how the SFIII characters got some love, are featured, and are very well made characters, it seems the dev team focused alot more on them, then re-balancing the whole cast. All 3 are considered top? Really?
From what Buktooth said, Makoto doesn’t feel top (mid at best), and Dudley’s midrange pokes aren’t too good.
No word on Ibuki, though.
im probably the 187563385# to ask this but other than focus attack does rolling thunder have any juggles or partial juggles? its looking like its the step child of the 2 ultras, but it just looks so cool
It didn’t really Juggle in third strike and I’m pretty sure it won’t juggle here. It wasn’t exactly the best super art and is really only going to be good for punishing.
that being said mr gotch i believe said that it can be comboed after short swing blow fadc witch is similar to how you combo it in 3s since in 3s you cna cancel short swing blow into supers.
if that is the case im guessing that he could also have ducking streight FADC u1 aswell
Dudley mid range pokes not good? How so?Far HP, far HK, Overhead( to an extent can be considered mid range), sweep, forward MK, forward MP, far mp are all GREAT pokes. And seems pretty mid range. How can the not be good?
I’m pretty sure a bunch of those will lose to shoto cr. mk and chun’s almost everything. He’s probably still decent, just not beastly like he was in 3S poke wise. We’ll see.
c.mp is gonna be his golden ticket to getting in. just walk in c.mk range and step back counter poke the c.mk with a c.mp> ex mgb or ducking, and you’re in. once you get in, it’s a wrap. also we don’t know what his armor breaking move is either.
also c.hk may not have the same range as 3s but it’s very fast. you can catch people off gaurd when you’re fairly close with it.
i hope Dudley will not be Top Tier,i was seriously looking forward to play him but i am tired of excuses how i won cause i was playing Balrog (my main)
I imagine him having problems with any really low poke like shoto low forward as mentioned and several other pokes like it.
If you’re getting excuses from people that you only won because of the character you’re using, then they are scrubs. End of story.
In the end, it’s all about the player. It’s THEIR fault they lost. Either they were predictable, didn’t know the matchup, or just plain didn’t know what they were doing. Anyone who can’t accept a loss shouldn’t be looking to play anything outside of casuals. Tier lists are essentially the odds someone will win on paper, and advantages and disadvantages to other characters. In the end, it all comes down to who’s using him.
That being said, pick up a secondary. If someone uses that excuse, turn around and whoop that ass all over again with someone else. As excited as i am for Dud’s being included (he is my favorite in the series after all), i am NOT going to abandon my Current mains Chun and Sakura. In fact, i won’t even know who my mains is gonna be between Chun and Dud’s until i get my hands on the game. I Heard that Kikosho really improves her game, which excites me. (No more having to bait fireballs). Corner combos into ultra will be even better =)
don’t forget adon from the alpha section. he looks stupid good. he’ll probably be the best out of the alpha cast.
out of the world warriors dee jay doesnt really impress me and t hawk might be good but then again i think he will have horrid matchups like he did in ST. just look at the other grapplers he’s competing with: zangief, honda, abel, and hakan. not to mention sagat ><". but i think hawk will be good against all the new alpha and third strike crew.
Actually Adon is looking to be pretty bad, all game critics that had a chance to test out the game all agree on one thing. Cody is the best out of the Alpha bunch.
The only video of cr.mp xx EX MGB has a counter-hit in it.
However we do know that cr.mp xx ducking upper combos so that’s something.
ah, don’t be like that…no one really plays Adon, so of course he’s getting negative feedback. Him and the low tiers…in fact, anyone who isn’t good in SFIV are getting back negative results. The 3S crew nothing but love…c’mon, we know they’ll be decent or great, but once people figure there shit out…what then.
well that makes it less ridiculous if thats true, you can still follow it up with ducking though.
when the game first comes out Dudley is definitely going to be really strong, but i doubt he’s going to be god tier in the end.i predict shotos doing pretty well against him.
Did you really think Capcom would let it’s mascot Ryu or every-game-he-appears-in-be-God-tier Sagat get thrown aside? Of course not. Even if they slide down the charts, both of them, at the least…will be in in top 6 rank out of 35 characters.
