Shit’s all over the place. Some songs have Reggae influence, some more dancehallish, some Pop, emo shit. Its hard to keep tabs on all of these fuckers. Because people are drawing influence from so many places.
My introduction to dubstep was only sometime early last year, but it was a great introduction getting to see Low End Theory (including the Motherfucking Gaslamp Killer live). Just went to Low End again this past Wednesday and GLK, D-Styles, and DJ Nobody fucking killed it. If you’re around the LA area and have Wednesday nights free, I suggest you go check those dudes out. My one homie’s been telling me dubstep is the future of music, and I’m starting to agree. Here’s a link to their podcasts if you want a taste: Low End Theory Podcast.
I skimmed through the thread and peeped some of the songs. Not really feeling Rusko, but I’m digging what mtsac kid put up, especially Flux Pavillion, and some of the other stuff ya’ll have been posting up, so keep it coming.
Question since someone posted that Office video: Is it just me or do people look really awkward when you see them dancing to dubstep?
If you guys want to hear some amazing dubstep mixing go check out Nero’s Essential Mix from late last year. First 36 minutes of the mix and the last 18 are all Dubstep, and it’s some pretty amazing stuff.
Also anyone digging dub-step owes it to themselves to go get Magnetic Man’s first album. It’s basically a dub-step super group. They also had an amazing essential mix last summer that is pretty much 2 hours of non stop huge Dub-Step. Highly highly recommended to anyone digging the genre.

That was amazing. Only song I like by Rusko too so that got me pretty hyped.

Listening to some of the other links on here though, Skrillex seems to have a way different sound from the others to me. I just like that his stuff sounds really strange and dirty I guess you could say. Then like in scary monsters it’s like that plus the more melodic stuff and that contrast is just AWESOME.
