dubstep reminds me of that early breakbeat techno like Baby D - Let Me Be Your Fantasy from the early 90’s (without the breakbeats)
pretty much cousins to each other IMO
From 2000? you mean that it was bigger than jungle ever was or strictly from 2000 to 04?
if the later then i’d say of course, probably bigger than dnb from 97 and 98 and 99 also.
Maybe garage was even bigger than jungle even in it’s heyday it’s pretty close though, i dont think dubstep will ever reach those heights though
Some people are hating on Doctor P because he’s apparently “selling out”. But you can’t ignore his tunes. And Caspa wouldn’t sign him unless he was feeling his music.
Whenever I have to explain to people what dubstep is, I always dumb it down and say, it’s like digital/electronic/techno raggae.
I absolutely despised dubstep at events when they first started rinsing them out. I didn’t start appreciating and liking the sound 'til '08/'09 (I know I’m super late on the dub train).
I absolutely love Bassnectar’s Kiss FM mix. Great mixing, nice mix progression and build-up.
Been feeling a lot of Datsik, 16 Bit, Skream, and Joker’s stuff lately. I’m tired of Rusko’s sound.
any of you guys fuck with Zomby? Hes got some dubstep like tracks but I dont know if id classify him as a dubstep producer… Id compare him to Burial but instead of sampling Vox he samples 8bit.
