I was actually planning on heading up to Doylestown tomorrow afternoon and getting a lot of play in, so I guess I’ll join you guys whenever you show up. What I really need is to play against Alex and Yun, I hate Alex’s damn stomps.
But I would regularly practice at least the first two. It’s really the only execution you need as this character… that and kara throw. So please at least learn those two or three things.
Got some good games in yesterday, and I got a good five hours of practice afterwards lol.
Oh, and I checked Ibuki’s taunt does do 1 damage, same as the rest of the taunts.
I really feel kinda bad about last night, I was far beyond my fatigue limit. I probably should have just stayed home and slept, but I really wanted to play.
I have been watching quite a few rikimaru videos, and I note that he throws a lot more lk’s out than I do, and I like how he gets out of corners. I’m trying to pace myself and take it in though.

Ed, don’t worry about your W/L record atm, especially on freeplay in casuals. Just work on getting your overall game better and execution. Do some homework on chun with vids and strats to see why Chun is played the way she is played by top players. A lil match up knowledge doesnt hurt either. Just don’t try to do everything at once. Also THE SHEND on youtube for vids. 3s video heaven.
BTW, Alex’s stomp = 3rd Strike hazing ritual. (From me. :clown: )
JON MOXON. Thanks for coming out, for your first time playing 3s you did pretty damn well I’d have to say. Stick with Ken for now to learn the basics but try out some other cast members too to get a better feel for the game and see if maybe you like their playstyle more. Hope you can keep comin out. Thanks to everyone else who showed up this weekend despite the crappy weather. I had me some fun. This weekend though myself, Therapist, and Flare are going to the New Castle Fight Night tournament in Long Island… so we won’t be there. Saturdays are a good day to head up, as Diaper Bomb said, he and two of the other regulars aren’t gonna be there this week, but I’m definitely going to be there, with a few new people too. Dunno if fire chocobo is gonna be there, I hope so.

Ed, some Kens to watch are Deshiken, Chinta, Spellmaster J, and Kashi (I guess). His BNB combos are as follows:
x = cancel
> = link
[ ] = only do it on hit confirm
Close range:
mp x hp x [fireball xx super]
mp x hp x [lp shoryu] (2x in the corner on many characters like Shotos and Urien)
c.lkx2 x [super] (u can do c.lkx3 at point blank on most characters)
b.mk > [super] (the b.mk overhead won’t link into super from mid range)
Mid range:
s.mp > [super]
c.mp > [super]
Punishment Combos:
hp x mp shoryu xx super (fast close range punisher)
c.mk x super (slow mid range punisher)
super (fast mid to far range punisher)
Ken’s SAIII is probably the best punisher in the entire game because of the combination of it’s speed and wide reach. I’d practice punishing things like sweeps and Alex EX Slash Elbows.
If you’re learning Ken, I’d say say your top priorities would be to learn to punish things with SAIII and to hit confirm his mps, mp x hp chain, and c.lkx2 into super.

Hey Danish, I noticed that you punished Necro’s LP tornado hook with Ken SAIII a bunch of times. I thought it had frame advantage on block, but I guess not :crybaby: Is it always unsafe? Or is it only unsafe if it hits once as opposed to twice or something like that?

Yea lp hook is +1 on block. I tested it with 1 hit, 2 hits, on crouching and standing Ken but it was always safe. I think it was one of 2 things. Possibly u didn’t block in time due to the surprise or cuz u were continuing ur offense. Or, you did something like b.mp x lp hook and when u let go of mp, you negative edged a mp hook by accident.
I thought I was punishing, but in reality I guess I was throwing out random supers.
