i think he rush down type
i uses spider-man, doom, and wesker
i read what you said i tried it online. got say i got my ass whoop XD
it seem spider-man chips then doom with missiles then
spiderman dies doom finshes off my opponent’s fighter that fought against spiderman
then then doom dies then XF3 wesker finshes the job
all i seem to do is just web ball then web zip too far from my opponent i can’t land anything then i randomly throw out a web sing
honestly if you see my spider-man fight is like he has down syndrome or something XD (No offence to anyone who is a little slow)
is there a BnB combo from him so i can get used him?
spider man’s number 1 priority is to not get hit
just don’t get hit
you will win
dash on the ground a lot if they aren’t threatening the ground. super jump web ball, super jump airdash, web ball zip, do stuff in the air if they aren’t threatening the air
he can rush down just not very often. pick a time when you can pressure them safely with an assist call and go in with some overheads and dash crL and spider sting. then back off. guerrilla game
ok brb i am going to tell you how it goes XD
btw thanks for helping out
- spiderman should always be on point outside of a matchup like morrigan
- normals are aight. jH has good range, crH has good range and is low and isn’t that slow (but terrible recovery means gotta cancel it)
sL is 4 frame, crM is 5 frame has good AA hitbox and not terrible horiz range but not the best, crL is 6 frame hits low has decent horiz range, sH is kinda slow but has good range and coverage around spidey. jS is a good angle for airdashing on people.
gotta use mobility to make them work but they’re not terrible
on the other hand, wesker’s normals are just 5000 times better
I’ve been wanting to put him into one of my teams for a while now. He just seems really advance, every time I try him out I get bored or discouraged after 40 minutes. It’s probably because I just don’t know how to use him.
ive been playing him for a while, i honestly think i have some of his technical stuff more down than possibly any other spiderman player even though i haven’t seen everyone else here play him (and there are obviously players that don’t post on srk that are good) but i definitely still will have problems with it from time to time (lol my combo is so much more difficult vs small characters like firebrand and zero that i need to shorten it to make it more reliable)
also i am bad
ok so far i did 8 matchs and well i did good but i didn’t land almost any if not any combos i hit then ran that’s all i did >.<
his combos are hard
that they are that they are >~<
anyone who has a ps3 add me to show me how to uses spider-man
miami_graffer
Did you forget I still post here?
I’LL ADD YOU, SON! I play spidey/dorm/wesker, and to be honest dorm does most of the work, even though I’ve put the most lab time into spidey. Lol! I have decent combos, but I have next to no match experience (it’s kind of a big deal in this game) because I really don’t like online.
Back on thread topic: does anyone have any interesting tech for my team? Or is it as straight forward as it seems? I’ve been playing this team before I knew who brightside was, and now that I know we play the same team (or used to), there really is that much I can take from his matches “combo” wise. He never does anything flashy, just solid movement and safe approaches. Suggestions?
the last time i saw your [match] vids was your tired videos vs airborne ;] love your stuff though
Just found something- not sure of it has been posted, not reading fifty plus pages…
With Spidey:
cr.l,cr.m,cr.h xx light web ball, dash
If you dash as soon as web ball hits you cross the opponent up while he is still caccooned.
Do not think it works with opponent with his back to the wall…
Sorry if common knowledge
Tired or not I have used every piece of tech I’ve put out there both online and offline. To say you are the most technical here but complain about the matchups that Spidey doesn’t have problems with, or combos that require you to know something as basic as the screen length, or to even say you should be running most the time with Spidey are all keys that you aren’t that technical. Hell you just said a couple of weeks ago that you are finally getting a hang of some of his better stuff.
Anyways, it’s not that big of a deal, I just found it funny you would call yourself that despite your past post and other players on the board. Back on the topic of Spidey though. If one was to sum up Spidey the easiest way to describe him would be to say, he changes styles with his team. There is no clear cut way to describe Spider-man. He’s a point character, that supports the team, while also being supported by them. He is very capable of rushing down while capable or running the clock and playing keepaway. Spiderman on a team like Spidey/Frank/Nova is not the same as Spiderman on a team like Spidey/Dorm or Morrigan/Doom-b and so on and so on. If you want to play Spiderman effectively know his limits and know what your team is actually built for. If you remove Spidey what are the next two characters built to do?
Using the team examples given, Spidey on team one is built to push you in the corner, chip you with constant pressure using shopping cart wearing on your defenses, place you in 50/50 situations using Spidey’s high/low setups that come naturally from double overhead setups and from the use of Nova’s assist, which all are suppose to lead to leveling up Frank to level 4 or 5 off the hit. In the midscreen Spidey is meant to defend while playing in the middle area using shopping cart to punish assist calls and ground advances while using spider sting, web throws, air throws and UWT to punish air to ground attempts. A runaway Spidey style with this team very well can exist, not saying it can’t, but it’s very well opposite of how the team is built.
The second two teams mentioned. Are geared to lean more towards the runaway style with the Morrigan based team being the more prominent. Spidey on Spidey/Dorm/Doom is dangerous if you know what you are doing. It’s not hard to push the opponent to the corner with this team between Spidey’s own bullshit plus his combos, dark hole, and missiles. Provided your Spidey is legit it is not that difficult to convert a hit and get between 800-850k meterless damage. When faced against the lower health based characters, which is most of the top, you only need to burn the one meter really. Everyone else I would focus more on having a reset based Spidey as to build more meter for Dorm to raw tag in during your combos and finish with Stalking Flare, allowing incoming mixups. Same with the Morrigan variant of the team. Spidey’s role is to build the meter Morrigan needs to flood the screen with her bullshit.
If you want you Spiderman to last and be good, use him to his fullest and understand how he works on your team. One Spiderman style can’t be copy and pasted across the boards. Even a general outline of his pros and cons only goes so far.
i only recently became consistent, and i mean extremely consistent, with the web throw otgs and converts into web throw.
having a combo that doesn’t rely on screen length is extremely important and effective
if you’ve never dropped a screen length dependent combo because you’ve always had it in mind then props, you’re the most technical then
while it’s good to know a lot of combos i just feel like there’s no reason to do things like a jLMMHS loop when missiles is available
right now i place a huge emphasis on importance on converts. zip jS is a good poke - every spidey can convert a ground combo from it. but who converts low level air to air into sL or crM? i’ve seen brightside do the normal jump jH zip jS into the convert but not off random zip jS pokes where he could definitely get a kill or a good situation, that’s just one example
matchup wise i’ve had my doubts here and there with characters but my current stance is going to be, morrigan is the hardest, magneto vergil spencer and a handful of others give him a hard time as well
running a lot is important for spidey for most of his matchups. there are characters that can’t deal with offensive spidey and obviously teams that are trying to make spidey rushdown but i don’t think those teams are stable enough.

either way there’s not much merit to what i’m saying since i’m not a good enough player yet. brightside and mamespider have the results. neither of us do, but we know ourselves best. i apologize for posting that but i still want to try to hype myself up…
You guys were serious?
raoh has the best tech
Obviously…
The jump loop is just me getting more for less work. I forgot what I was comparing it to at the time when I was first doing it but combos change depending on your positioning. My point was when something you didn’t like was presented you shied away from it for whatever your reasoning was. In truth, web throw combos, classifying this as using it early in combos, should be used when midscreen. If you are closer to a corner than keep their asses there. There is more than enough damage in triple web swing combos and others of the sort. As for missiles, combo wise, they are only as good as the combo you attach them to.
If you are referring to air to ground then yes that is rare to see. Mostly because in a scenario like that one is expecting the opponent to stay grounded. That conversion is more about recognizing it as it happens. In most cases you would rather use j:h: though unless right on them. More ideal for the simple fact that it has a wider angle to hit when being used in those random situations, and if the opponent happens to jump it knocks the opponent upwards as opposed to downwards. The conversion from that is a stronger web throw combo.
Morrigan and Vergil I can agree with. Mags and Spencer not so much, but those two characters are common online in the area I’m at. Before we get into the online offline crap. I was able to take said knowledge of those two matchups with me to powerup and fair a lot better against players that play those characters.
I didn’t say they were stable I said they change the way Spidey plays. To say Spidey wins most of his matchups simply by running sounds the same as everyone else who think that’s all he has thus keeping him underrated. When people don’t test new approaches with one then of course they will get classified as one way.
Stop worrying about people who have results and who doesn’t. Do they matter yes, but other than winning for themselves how much are they lending towards the community to help develop the characters they play? Now before everyone misinterprets this, I am saying people should get into the characters they are playing for themselves to learn their ins and outs. That way when anyone says anything in regards to that character people understand how it works and why in such and such situation it’s good instead of copying and pasting and not getting the expected results.
