Does What a Spider Can! UMvC3 Spidey Combo Thread

I know that when I first tried a loop I used :l: web ball and they broke free instantly but I never did attempt :m: web ball either. Damn this game. Realistically I don’t care too much about this for Spidey but the idea of it has sparked my curiosity just enough so that I want to find a consistent version. ARGH!!!

The loop on my vid is quite consistent, getting the infinite to start though is hard because of the j:h: hitbox. It’s hard to time j:h: low enough to get the cancelled animation required for the infinite (at least the way I think how the infinite is done).

To be honest I actually do prefer your loop over what I described but I REALLY REALLY REALLY hate spaced timed inputs. That’s reason you always see me doing :m::m::s: this or :m::m::s: that. They aren’t hard by any means its just personal preference. Right now though I’m actually focusing on finding Storm’s infinite so my Spidey Storm team has more options. The one on front page was Sentinel only

I think there’s one for Storm using lightning spheres, pretty sure I saw it already. Yep, hereit is.

Same here, I’d rather go for lesser damage with :m::m::s: than with the :h::s: with my combos, but the TAC infinite isn’t that friendly.

I can’t watch youtube here in my room, Marine rules, but if that’s the one on Sentinel that I saw while at the USO then yes that one is Sentinel only. I just came up with one that was surprisingly easy actually. At first we, the Storm board, were having problems because they were falling out of her fly loop after the second rep consistently. Altered a few things and now it’s an infinite on regular sized characters, go figure.

Good stuff! New tech is always a plus. Wanted to have some on Spidey though.:slight_smile:

Oh trust me I would have LOVED to either come up with or just have tech for Spidey. Theoretically, we both came up with something. Same idea implemented in different ways but we both saw it was ridiculous to even want to do it considering the execution compared to his normal stuff. Plus on top of that it is universally agreed that Spidey excels as a point character so why attempt to weaken him overall by moving him to second because he has an infinite that’s not guaranteed to begin with? As a point though, for the teams that he leads that have second characters with infinites, I feel we need to start coming up with combos that will actually lead to the double TAC setups. More than what we already have but if that’s all we are able to get then so be it at least he will be able to contribute to the team still.

I know what you mean but I was referring to tech other than the TAC infinite. It feels like we’ve hit a wall, gladly not the ceiling.

Oh yeah. I found out the other day that I can solo setup crossup stings, not the same as kara, after my jump loop. Also found that I can use Storm to net crossup stings after a web swing pattern. This lets me still net my kara sting setups with Doom solo and with Storm averaging out team output to the 800-850k range for one meter on some combos and 750-800K on easier ones all while staying in the corner. Not too shabby for the team corner shenanigans I’m cooking up.

you saw some that plink dashing combos from web throw that Airborne showed us recently right? That tech is pretty amazing although I don’t have time to iron it out and actually use it at Evo…I get it like 1/15 tries in training mode lol

I’ve seen the Spidey plink dash after web throw about a month or two ago from a combo vid posted on the srk front page and I’ve been fighting an IF player who abuses dashes to get crossups when rolling. If anything, the most important use of plink dashing is to run away; although I haven’t really perfected my back plink dashing inputs yet as I get s:h: to unintentionally come out occassionally.

the thing about Plink dashing is that it gives you the mobility you need on the ground without committing to the air. its also hella quicker to travel fullscreen by foot than It is by air.

Not sure if this was mentioned or not but im having slight trouble getting the spider sting xx UTW when i cancle it they usually pop up to high i just need to know what i might be doing wrong?

…I’ve never heard of someone doing such a thing.

not sure what your problem is, try using L spider sting instead of others as it pops them up lower?
