Dudley is hard, footsie and range of safe tiger knee is very critical.
He has godlike frame traps and mix up pho sho.
I think when Dudley knocks u down or inside, it’s scary.

But… Fei long has command grab into huge damage output.

That’s what Dudley doesn’t have.

I rather eat a normal throw than a fucking command grab into 300-400 damage.

Edit: I do think dudley’s standing fierce is fuxking annoying too.

mago played extremely bad on that set, he made many mistake, and lots of key mistake that turned the table against him,

he looked choked up on his game, nervous or intimated,

i feel leslie didnt take that win, mago gave it away

id like to play that sim, i too from san jose bayarea, are you on psn or xbox, and do you go to any of the casual meetings?

dudley is very easy to deal with, so is viper

and if you say feilong is easier to deal with than dudley then you have not played a good feilong that knows the match up

but top 3 worse match up for sagat, i think is akuma, feilong, adon, in no particular order

i have played plenty good feilong i feel im very strong in that match up,

i dont know if people still consider crackfeind as a very good top dudley player, and i also played few random decent dudley, c.hp is your friend and dont panic, and dont get scared to get offensive couple of times,

as for viper i have played against few good ones from norcal, and even money match wolfkrone for some small change, tho he did beat me but every round came down to last decision every single round and down to the last round every game, his just really good player, far better than me and that ex seismo is jus too cheap

sagat can zone out viper, all i can really say is that st.hk is really good against her, all you really need against viper is a good defense, block everything she does, and you will eventually force the viper player to make mistakes, mix up your wake up time, dont quick get up every time she knocks you down, mix it up!!!, and keep in mind most vipers players sitting on ultra meter and you have your back against the corner, 95% of them will not go for a cross up burn kick, they rather keep you in the corner pressuring with fake cross up BKs to try and land that ultra

im not really good at putting words together to explain this stuff, it just that i play so many damn vipers, its one of the match up that i actually enjoy playing, like feilong vs sagat, but i really hate akuma vs sagat tho

Just trying to start a convo. I think abel has a slight advantage in the match up. i see match up without ultra either even or slightly in sagat’s favor. Like you said abel has advantage when he has ultra. since the round comes down to the 2nd half, i think the match swings in abels favor. don’t really disagree with your points just disagree with the conclusion ;=]

I think i have more Guy experience than any other character. I have to say the match up is 5.5-4.5 in guys favor, firm. I don’t think Sagat necessarily wins rushing guy down. I feel like the majority of the match you are trying to avoid his knock down. I just don’t see you starting that much of an rushdown offense against guy.

I think the Guy matchups is about eliminating his options not with better buttons but with quick reactions. Like you said in your write up, its a match up that tests your reactions. I could be wrong, maybe my rushdown is just not good enough yet, but i think with guys backdash and overall strong buttons also strong knockdown game, rushing guy down is not the optimal play style.

Lastly, viper sagat is a terribad match up. 6-4 at best. the end.

abel, adon , akuma, viper, dhalsim, fei long, gouken, guy, seth, ibuki, in my opinion are all bad matchups.

that being said i think Sagat has many even match ups that may swing either way very slightly. but overall i consider these fair match ups.

ryu, dudley, chun li, e. ryu, guile, juri, ken, bison, sakura, cammy, rose, vega.

I know i’m making it seem sagat is not strong or that he is weak. SAGAT IS NOT WEAK. he is a very strong balanced character.

Bear with me here. Everyone knew or at least put sagat solid mid tier back in super. He has changed relatively little aside from his uppercut buff, **he has not changed. **

My estimate is that 2012 will return sagat to top of the mid tier. i know what i’m saying is outrageous. SAGAT MID TIER? I think that despite sagat being “mid tier” the line between mid and high tier will be very blurred. meaning that the top will still be able to be beaten by the mid even some low tiers. the power difference between high / mid tier will be very marginal. ( i think i could argue that AE was relatively balanced aside from the power 4)

I only feel that most of sagats bad match ups got nerfed marginally (aside from the twins) fei, akuma, viper will still be strong against sagat. All of the other characters have all essentially be buffed. meaning sagats good matchups will get buffs and his bad matchups will remain the same.

I don’t really mind this at all, I want sagat to be at a strong but balanced level, where all the tier whores will leave him alone. I want those who genuinely love playing the king to reap his benefits through hard work.

6-4 in Yang’s favour.

Currently, Yang has infinitely more ways to get around your Tiger Shot zoning, and unlike Yun, he can do his palm on reaction and still nullify some projectiles.

Come 2012 and Sagat will own Yang 7-3.

How does Sagat lose to chars whos’ buttons generally lose to his and who cares about the twins now they will be null and void in 5 days.

Also Sagat fucks Gouken up. This is not even a debate. In 2012 it might be even. (probably not.)

I don’t think Sagat fucks up Gouken, I think the fight is even, especially after how seeing Infiltrations approach.

You can’t really zone out Gouken, and if he reacts to a predictable fireball Sagat is going to get hurt pretty bad. He has demon flip which always gives Sagat fits, as well as that stupid air parry(although AS uppercuts eat it up lol).

Gouken’s sweep is GODLIKE, once he’s in distance he can do some decent things to Sagat.

Gouken can get bodied on Wake up by Sagat so it all comes out in the wash.

At best I think this match-up is 5.5/4.5 sagat and at worst it is 5/5

Sagat with Angry scar shits on Gouken and Gouken has to guess WAY too much and plus if Gouken lands a rush plam ok now he put Gat at FULL screen which is what Gat wants. If Gat reacts to palm or just blocks and punishes now Gouken is on the ground. Risk vs reward almost always favors Sagat.

There is no range where Sagat doesn’t have advantage. Gouken has tricks and damage. That’s it. There is no solid gameplan. Gouken can’t outzone Sagat, sooner or later he must take a risk or he loses the battle of attrition through chip damage and meter building.

Gouken can’t play footsies either. His sweep is rly good thats about it. And Gats st.mk still beats that and most of Gouken’s buttons.

And Gouken just gets wrecked on wake-up.

When Sagat has Ultra and AS stocked it’s basically now Gouken isn’t allowed to do anything. Gouken throwing fireballs is free ultra. Gouken not throwing fireballs is free chip and super meter.

Where is this match even? Because Gouken can do a reaction palm around 3/4 screen to tiger shots? Sagat can kara TU for the same effect.

Gouken’s flip would be far more threatening if you just couldnt jump back rh all day except in meaty situations. He has nothing that can cause an instant hard knockdown so the threat level just isn’t there.

Adon just about beats Sagat, but you have to be very good with your spacing/reactions.

maybe you need to work on your game? or maybe your defense is lacking? i dont know

i just dont see how sagat is in the losing end or " that bad " where majority of sagats here complain about her
