I can’t speak for what other people eat but when I get breakfast from a fast food joint (which is rare) I never spend over 3$ so, go with that i guess.
I don’t buy it for myself…I buy it for my** kid**. Truth be told, I don’t eat really eat oatmeal anymore. I had to much of that shit growing up :wasted:
My eating habits are just fine. I’m just illustrating the point that eating poorly is cheaper than eating healthy. Just playing Devils adv. Bc I know how it is on both sides.
Edit: And plan oatmeal is terrible…I cant eat it like that. I have to mix it in my protein shake.
Word. People fall for that shit all the time, but don’t take the time to read the damn nutritional info. Go for whole wheat bread…WITHOUT High Fructose Corn Syrup in the ingredients list. Avoid the kiddie flavored oatmeal and go for the “traditional”/Steel-cut,Rolled Oats or if you must resort to Quaker Oats (nothing wrong with that) “Old-Fashioned” instead of instant. Get BROWN rice instead of white rice. Apples are decent. Bananas are decent. Oranges…well, I live in Florida. I can’t see paying for oranges. Check the actual fat content on the lean meats. If you get lean ground turkey meat, if it looks like they mixed milk in it, they got fatty skin mixed in there. If it looks like shiny ground-up muscle, it’s low-fat. Macaroni and cheese is NOT a meal. Spam is not food. You can digest it, sure, but you really shouldn’t. Quit slurping down ramen, trying to be like Naruto. If you must have japanese noodles, get soba. It hasn’t been deep-fried. If you need flavor boil some chicken with season salt (without msg), garlic powder and onion powder, then toss the noodles in. There you go: healthy chicken and noodles. And most importantly: McDonalds doesn’t sell “food” they sell shit that won’t immediately kill you. It’s something that should be rarely indulged in, if ever. That clown is NOT your friend. And finally, forget what your yuppie teachers told you back in grade school about pizza being a “perfect food because it contains all the food groups in one serving”. Bullshit. Everything it has has so much fat and cholesterol that it negates any health benefits. The only way to have a healthy pizza is to have one without the cheese, and with just veggies…and even then, the crust is full of empty calories.
As a fat lazy consumer of all things unhealthy, I must come clean that I have a brown bread fetish. Tuna sandwiches on brown bread could turn George Michael straight, they’re just that awesome.
I remember reading that certain foods release a chemical in the brain that makes you feel good. It’s probably one of the reasons why I get the craving to stop by the local catfish place from time to time.
Another thing I remember reading is that you get more energy from food that comes from the earth. Think of it like this, the sun has infinite energy, plants (fruits and veggies) have 100% energy, animals that eat the plants (beef, chicken, fish) get 10 percent of that energy and humans that eat meat get 1% of the original energy content. I know this is straying off topic a bit but can someone affirm this?
I try to buy healthy, I just hate waiting 50 minutes for my chicken breasts to finish baking.
Love me tuna. I like canned tuna. Don’t mind the fishy taste at all. As for the energy thing, I remember learning about that in college. Seems to be legit.
Also, get a George Foreman grill. I make my chicken in 5-10 minuted. Grilled and delicious.
Yeah because they’re really high in antioxidants and fiber, though I don’t care much for them myself. I don’t recall regular potatoes being good for much of anything so I usually just omit them from my diet.
:u: my favorite scam right now are those 100 calorie packs. it’s like oh it’s only 100 calories, that’s not much. yeah nevermind it’s pure garbage and the serving size is so small that you’ll be going back for seconds and thirds.
The thing is, salad is so low in calories. You’d have to eat a shitload to get your equivalent daily caloric intake.
Edit: Contemplating this, I’d reckon you could fare quite well throwing a bunch of spinach and broccoli into the mix. It’d be an interesting study to say the least.
Obviously, a person can eat to live and exercise regularly and they’ll be trim. But it’s undeniable that some people are just predisposed to shitty metabolism.
