I so wish it wasn’t Christie since I’m upgrading to a PS4 this week(after waiting a few days on Amazon), but it doesn’t matter that much since I’m mainly gonna be using Mai and Nyotengu till I get LR for the PS4.
For those who didn’t realize why Mai has no ENG VA, i can tell there must be something happened back in XII, & XIII AC. In my thoughts, it could be because of the SNK’s small budgets or/& EN VA in XII ports and unused XIII AC are way worst than Maximum Impact series ones (not counting JP only’s Regulation A), which why in console XIII - onwards (currently stopped at XIV for now) has the EN VA recording removed
Yeah I was on there trying to help him, though it’s difficult to do so when he says “I want to learn this game. But I only have today since tomorrow it will be put away for another 5 years.” so … yeah… Did get to play him online so he could see why you don’t go online in the game. I could teach him the stun and combo system in less than an hour but he doesn’t actually want to learn it. In the end, he said the game was fun, but only really started to enjoy it when he started figuring out how the system worked.
Mai is basically a better version of the game’s existing hit and run characters, mostly because of her zoning. She can reach out and hit people at ranges that most of them can’t (the exception being those with their own projectiles). That said, the speed in which it comes out probably makes her fan the best projectile in the game. Her ability to jump back (7P) also helps in making her slippery.
To compensate for this, it seems that TN has made her combo damage a bit on the low side. She doesn’t seem to get really big damage outside of using her power launcher. Meanwhile, in some stages, she may have to sacrifice damage for spacing (since walls mean that deadly ninja bees wont knockback as far). The idea seems to be that any damage she does from combos is done on top of damage from zoning and her opponent trying to get in.
So my console downloaded the patch for DOA5 with Mai and the changelog said there were some balance tweaks/changes to the game. Anybody knows what’s included?
I would honestly say Christie(although she’s more offensive based with Helena) and maybe Momiji from my experience.
In other news, since I finally got a PS4, I’ll probably upload some matches here(either that or random Survival or Arcade just so this place can get a little livelier).
So Mai has a glitch where her High and Mid defensive holds are 5 more frames recovery than they should be. Making her Low hold faster out of stun and slower by only 2 frames in stun.
