As someone who initially didn’t feel he could get into the game (mainly due to the hold system on hit), would it be worth it at all for me to buy the complete pack on sale? I already intended to give it another try, but I’m skeptical on spending the money.
20 dollars for all the characters and a good portion of the costumes? Go for it dude, I doubt they’ll have another good sale like that. But if you’re still on the fence about it, download Core Fighters, do the tutorial and play a couple of matches then make your decision.

I could be an unintentional douche for saying this since I like DOA5U and the engine and all, but…reading that the outfit couldn’t be pornographic in nature…when it’s for a DOA game, kind of made me laugh considering the history the series has.

Well yeah, lol. Unless you count that Beach Volleyball game and all that. Don’t get me wrong though, they seem much better about things now.
Not even the beach volleyball games were truly pornographic. Sure, there was some borderline stuff, but nothing that would get it an AO rating.

Yeah I wasn’t under the impression you were being serious. The perversion of the game is just a hot button issue, as there are some who wanted to see it toned down in the fifth installment. However, they do make a shit-ton more money by putting perverted DLC out there over putting like fighting gear or other ‘normal’ attire.
