DLC Gems are stronger than "Regular" Gems

Gems are really terrible , but is it really hard for people to just get their voices out on wanting a no gems option ONLINE along with the tournament patch’s option for offline , rather than people saying Ono should be fired ?

Please give us an option to disable gems BOTH ONLINE AND OFFLINE for ranked and every other game mode available Capcom .

Milking the community wallet and making the games so casual friendly it goes against the very principles of the genre used to belong to lolFPS. Certainly there were better ways to spark the interest of newcomers? Has anyone seen a decently helpful tutorial in a capcom game? How about you explain meaties, throws, and reversals instead of tossing some combos and 2k4 reenactments at us.

The Fire Ono thing isn’t literally “Fire Ono”. It’s a platform for like minded gamers to unite and voice their opposition. The community is severely divided at the moment and Capcom has so far done nothing short of plug their ears and la la at us.

Yeah ono revived the genre, omg, he is my hero.

So this thing called “Fire Ono” isn’t about firing Ono? We’re good then.

However, if anybody actually feels like that, they are tripping hard.

If you think a massive international video game franchise would fire a producer over a Facebook page you’re tripping hard. It’s mostly wasted effort though, I’d bet a third of the people that liked the page have bought SFxT already. Companies only listen when you complain with your wallet.

My problem wasn’t the potential potency of the page so much as the audacity of it all.

Guess what “a few videogames” is his ****ing job, you can get fired (or more likely just not get a contract renewed) over “a few spreadsheets”, “a few palletes”, “a few orders”, “a few customers” ect. in other jobs why is this one special, will he die if he doesn’t get to **** up any more games or something?

If ‘Fire Ono’ relates in any way to an Einsatzgruppen-like, Nazi execution squad… I’m in!

Fix your tone and maybe I’ll have a discussion with you. I simply voiced my issue, even got some insight on the page and conceded a bit, and moved on. I am way too fed up with the usual ‘forum back and forth’ to fall into one of those ‘things’. In my opinion, you seem way too uptight about your hobby.

Really? Funny how in your post before that you said how hes “bad for the genre” as the reasoning, but now that you get called out on that you contradict yourself.

If you worked as a producer at a company and you heard that a bunch of random people in Japan who go to a game forum started a petition to get you fired, would you listen to them? Just fire yourself, it would be better for everyone.

Wow, seriously? Is there a link to this?

I’m pretty sure the guy was trolling.

How about this for an idea, if we wanted to send a message to Cashcom?

As a gentleman’s agreement, and at our local tournies: we set one rule:

all DLC banned, including characters.

When the DLC gets bad, I fully intend to dump this game for Skullgirls and VF, despite it being on its surface a decent game otherwise (It’s better then AE at least)

no gems would be cool till tournament patch, and then default gems only. dlc characters won’t be possible to exclude as there are some fan favourites among them.

Other games like UMvC3, Blazblue, Mortal Kombat and KoFXIII don’t have a ban on DLC characters. This game sure as hell won’t.

It is if we agreed to it. You’re right it won’t happen- because we’re weak-willed, but it would send a message hard to Cashcom.

I’ll be dumping this game in a month though if Skullgirls is anywhere close to what I expect it to be.

Those other fighters mentioned didn’t cash out as hard as SFvsTK is doing.

skullgirls with its 8 character original cast that is suppose to “at least” triple in size with DLC characters? They aren’t selling “power” but anyone expecting to buy skullgirls and not then have to keep spending money on it over time is fooling themselves.

This sucks because I feel like capcom is trying to fuck up what is such a good game. These are the most unnecessary things I ever heard of. but its free money from people who want to pay to win. Its like how can you make a great solid fighting game and do everything else so wrong? Can we petition capcom to not release these? Not that they’ll listen of course.

I will automatically hate anybody who buys these.

Ban gems forever, the game can totally hold up on its own without them.

To be honest, I kind of wish they did. One of the biggest appeals of fighting games to me is that everyone gets the same pieces for the same entry price, and it’d be worth it to me if the scene decided to enforce that on principle.

I’m honestly waiting for the day when a character of vanilla MvC3 Phoenix caliber becomes DLC or, even worse, a F2P fighting game with ~8 base characters and ~40 DLC characters at $5/pop comes to pass. I can’t think of a better way to kill off the competitive drive in this genre, and I pretty much think it’s inevitable at this point.

That will be a difficult thing to enforce. Setting aside that DLC containing fan favorite characters, the DLC business model is here to stay and is now common practice. It’s here to stay and the best we can do is adapt to it.
