DLC Gems are stronger than "Regular" Gems

LOL at ultimate defense level 3, such a fucking joke

Please tell me your trolling.

He better be or capcom is about to get their ass sued to oblivion

I have some preorder gems, personally i am not using them. they where as my normals are like (for example) 10% power boost, for taking 5 hits, the “Better” dlc gems i have are 20% but they have a 10% draw back on something else as well as a steeper activation cost. i dont see how something with a drawback that the others dont have is “better” personally.

Sure i can have 20% incured damage reduction but do i really want my own damage nerfed by 10% to achieve that? not imo. I really dont see the whole “is better” arguement at the moment

Right now i am fairly ok with gems, if they start releasing ones that make people instagib you for no drawback then i wont be cool with that, but given these gems have sensible “nerfs” attached to them that the standards dont have i am cool with it.

Am i being stupid about this? (try to not be 2 mean) :stuck_out_tongue:

This btw is totally factually correct - its worth pointing out however that you can boost the rate you earn in game cash (IP) buy using real life cash to get a xp boost. But thats a minor point.

I think the main difference is a rune in lol never gives you a draw back. These in SFvT blatantly do nerf one of your stats If you go for the juicey numbered ones.

Also, this (other than the agressive name calling :P) is exactly what i think

I don’t own this game and I have no intention of ever obtaining it, but I am very-very curious about the dynamics of the Gems. So I have a question.

Can you block people with Gems, so you wont have to worry about the DLC Gems online? I’m sure tournaments will ban the DLC Gems, but can you ban them, or easier, just block Gems in general?

Can’t block them online. You can choose not to use them yourself, but other people still can.

Seems a lil problematic for those who are unwilling to pay for that extra bump up. Then again, this is what this game is particularly about. I would assume that anyone who purchased this game is already willing to pay for the Gems or prepared to fight, at times, slightly to grossly uneven fights that would occur far more often than in Capcom’s previous games.

Is there a comprehensive list of the DLC Gems so far? I’d like to see if they’re ‘broken’ or not because if they are nerfed in the sense of negative-stats and number of slots they take, people should really calm down. So far I’ve really enjoyed adjusting my Gems to fit my battle plan, and all of the Gems in the default game are okay by me.

A Monster Hunter MMO wouldn’t be that bad actually.

Isn’t that Monster Hunter Frontier suppose to be?

Didn’t know that existed. Just knew about the Wii one. Gonna have to look that up!

Good luck with that. US IPs are banned from playing the game online. Only reason why I didn’t try to play it

At the moment it’s only preorder gems. I don’t have the preorder gem packs and I couldnt get a collectors edition, but I have no problems with anyone who has those. It’s not like we didnt have the list of what they all did for months.

About the rest (which are the ones people are getting so upset about)… Personally I would wait to see what gems are paid for and which are available without paying before popping a blood vessel. I’ll wait to see how the balance is as well, giving up 2 or 3 slots for a gem might not be worth it. I’ll wait to see how I can hang with someone who has them if I don’t. If they feel like they are giving too much of an advantage to my opponent, then i’ll complain.

It’s good to give feedback and let the devs know you wouldnt want to pay for them, but no use in getting all worked up for something that “might” happen.

This ‘Fire Ono’ thing is out of hand. A guy’s life we’re talking about, over a few videogames. Seriously.

Yeah, that’s just going to make the people who are saying things like that NOT get listened to, because they are obviously trolling to an extreme degree.

He’s bad for the genre, plain and simple.

It’s stupid to put all the blame on 1 person no matter who it is, entire development teams who have to answer to an entire company are the ones who make the decisions. It’s not like hes a dictator who makes all decisions on the game. For all we know he could have had no say in the gem system being implemented at all Hell he’s just a producer anyway, not a lead designer.

I’m currently pleased with how the game came out, I went from not even planning on buying it to buying it and enjoying it. I give the entire team credit for making a game I enjoy.

In the meantime I’ll keep having fun and save the complaining for the right time, instead of stressing myself out over possibilities. If you are the type to stress over possibilities life must be very hectic for you.

This, very much. It’s so dramatic and childish.

That wouldn’t be the same genre his SF4 lit a fire under? Sure fighting games have come out since Capcom took a rest on the genre, but all the press, streams, entire new web series, mainstream recognition, new comers, and general public interest just manifested out of nowhere with no help from him and his team? Not to mention giving Capcom confidence in the genre which led to 3sOE and other revivals appearing on PSN. Yeah, let’s see that guy lose his living because you guys don’t like Ultras and Gems. That is so rational I’m inspired. /sarcasm

i cancelled my pre-order. what a piece of shit game, piece of shit support, piece of shit roadmap… maybe they’ll get super sfxt 2013 will get it right but it’s a piece of shit game i will not be spending any money on.
