DLC Gems are stronger than "Regular" Gems

Do we really need to give a reason as to why we believe being able to pay real money for advantages in fighting games is a bad thing?

Not to mention that these advantages are already complete and on the disk from day one.

It’s pretty bloody self explanatory, but I guess people being sheep if they aren’t typing out bloody essays on the subject is far more convenient for those trying to brush these complaints off.

That doesn’t even make sense given the context as I’ve written out my reasoning fairly clearly.

I also know what inconceivable means

I have been very specific with what I commented on and it had nothing to do with me disagreeing with people stating that they didn’t like DLC gems giving an advantage. Learn to read or don’t post. You make a bad situation worse and help to spread disinformation doing that.

this certainly makes me sad

I think that the word is misleading.

I also think everyone should wait or at least try the gems before making prejudices about the system, i don’t have high hopes anyways, but i respect your point.

Edit: Grammar

It’s also hard to keep yourself from using such an awesome clip from a great movie  BTW, that’s probably the best typo I’ve seen all day. “Prejuices” hahaha

I saved $60. Thanks guys.

Backtrack all you like this is what the thread is about and you make a vague post complaining about “sheep” hating on stuff, it’s not hard to put 2 and 2 together, perhaps someone needs to learn to have more of a point in his writing, unless of course it is just kept deliberately vague so you can go back and say “That isn’t what I was saying learn to read” when you get called out on the bs you post.

Read my posts, they were not vague. I am also not backtracking at all. I think Alenth’s YT video was wasted on me and should have been used on you as you obviously do not know what that word means. I was very clear in my previous posts as to why I was posting. You made a 2 + 2 assumption (google the cliche that goes with that word btw) that I was defending DLC gems when in fact I have not only stated that was not the case but am completely against DLC gems that give an unfair advantage…in more than one post in different threads as well.

Read prior posts before making assumptions. It will save you a lot of grief.

I was thinking of not buying DLC gems but I could pay a few bucks for something this good

Didn’t buy the game yet, was gonna wait to see if I can get it 35$ish in a few weeks but now I might have to wait to see how this plays out. God damn the people in charge are milking the FGC. I think it’s unwise of them to mess with base hardcore FG fans but who knows, maybe they see a fortune to be made in casual gamers here. What we need is another company to come along that’s willing to cater to the hardcore fans, thus stealing capcom’s higher level competitor base. When another company’s game is getting all the stream views and credible players, capcom might be forced to change.

Amerika confirmed for being on drugs

I made the assumption that you were attacking people attacking the DLC gems, which you was doing.

Unless the word sheep doesn’t mean what you think it means.

I quite obviously wasn’t which you’d know if you read my posts. Now you are just being stubborn and not wanting to back down as I’m sure by now you’ve read what I posted and found out your “2 and 2” assumption had no relevance to what was being discussed. Read the post I quoted and then my response. It will help you. I suggest starting with this one, DLC Gems are stronger than “Regular” Gems

Every piece of information that comes out about this game makes me glad I decided not to buy it.

I read them both after the first quote and I still stand by my responses, not going to continue talking at a brick wall anymore, I have finnaly found out why we have an ignore feature here.

Not leaving the thread behing, just leaving the dumb behind.

LoL runes are almost never banned, Riot pumps a lot of money into “supporting” Tournaments for LoL and one of the requirements is allowing Runes to be used.
The key difference here is that you earn Runes with in-game currency that you earn by playing (They cannot be purchased with RP points that you buy with real money) Gems all cost real hard earned dosh.

There’s already a game being made for that very reason, Skullgirls.
How often do you see it get attention over Capcom games?
There’s a lot of under-the-table money involved in this, Capcom can dish it out, Mike Z can’t.

You stand by them because you’re a stubborn irrational fool who can’t admit that he made a mistake by assuming rather than reading.

Back to the thread. Stock gems are fine and a good thing as it increases the level of depth in the game for the most part. I’d be extremely happy if Capcom released new gem packs for free as part of the service to keep people interested in SFxT. This not only increases a titles longevity in sales but also goes a long way towards community good will which in turn increases future game sales due to customer loyalty. It also helps out tournament operators so there is no issue as to whether or not to ban certain gems. Of course banning them based on the time required to select them is perfectly reasonable until Capcom updates the game with the tournament mode they spoke of.

DLC gems that you purchase and make you more powerful are bad. Pay-to-win is always going to destroy a community and send people packing for reasons that range from monetary issues to personal beliefs and principles. It always causes animosity in every game it’s introduced into and eventually drives people away. It’s the short term way for Capcom to make a quick buck but customer loyalty and satisfaction goes way down.

Capcom should probably think about throwing the FG community a bone by not trying to milk every little thing. Free gem packs would go a long way into ensuring people will pay for a new update down the line. Quid pro quo Capcom.

Here is a fun tid bit that has come out: the so-called pay2win gems aren’t even dlc or pre-orders in Japan. The Japanese edition of the game has all these gems in the default set.

So… what does that REALLY say? It sounds to me like Capcom USA’s marketing people simply sunk their claws in and extracted some nice looking gems as part of a pre-order retailer scheme.

If the gems were MEANT to be part of the default set on the disc by the dev team, hoo hah! How can they be “pay2win”?

That doesn’t meant here won’t be actual DLC gems. But all this bitchin’ over the pre-order “superior” gems looks pretty stupid now.

gonna get me ultimate defense level 3.

only 1/8 super meter for guessing wrong on a mix-up or throw? plus w/ the easy meter building in this game.

haha SF turning to smash banning gems.
