I think you are going the right way with bringing it to other tournaments.
There isn’t a really way to describe the hype of Divekick. It’s in another league by itself. By bringing it to more tournaments, you are allowing people to see how incredible the game really is. With more people comes more money, and with more money you come closer towards a potential release.
And you should bring your father with you as well. I’m sure he’ll have something to say to the haters.
We are looking into our options concerning DiveKickStarter.
For now, we are taking the game to CEO so more people can get their hands on it. We understand what actually playing the game does for people’s opinions of it, so we want to get it into their hands quickly while we work out the finer details of a possible release plan. But to be clear, the game isn’t done. You played version .79 at UFGT8.
Sometimes it doesn’t even have to be actually playing the game. Just seeing other folks playing it and getting hype over it can be enough. More than a few folks here (halfway around the world) are pretty hype for it just from watching all the videos from UFGT8.
Have you considered giving Dive Kick a PC release at first? I was under the impression that it is a more flexible platform than either of the consoles.
It was an even sweeter deal at UFGT since you were supporting the game, getting tickets for prizes AND raffle tickets for all the cool stuff madcatz/other sponsors donated. I brought a stack of $100 in singles and burned through it the whole weekend :).
I know I’d enjoy Divekick if I got the chance to play (Keits and I have shared similar tastes of games in the past) but I’d rather support him through other means or that other venues of support are (probably already being) looked into.
$1 for a game that goes by that quick just irks as a game that goes by that quick, not as a means of supporting the project.
