Divekick - The One True Game - Out now on Steam/PS3/Vita BUY IT

Coming to GGA this week? If you do, bring the one you’ve got with you and I’ll poke around.

I’ll basically tear out the GC innards and do what I did with the DK controllers, which is pop some basic USB controllers in place. Can’t imagine dismantling them is terribly complex or difficult from what I’ve seen when handling them previously. Could be wrong, but hey, wouldn’t be fun if it was too easy :).

No sir, I’ll be in Orlando for CEO.

Any chance Divekick will be at EVO?

hopefully, that would make an otherwise unappealing evo way more interesting

I certainly wouldn’t expect the game to do anything official at EVO, but I’ll contact them and see if we can get some space to show it or something. Please be patient as we are focused on showing at CEO at this time.

Guessing we can’t get a permanent setup in NY at all. But perhaps Summer Jam? If not out then, NEC hopefully?

edit: NEC, my bad.

I want to get it hooked up on a DDR pad so you actually have to jump/land like an old Power Pad game

I didn’t get a whole lot of chances to play it during CEO because I was working on joysticks a lot of the time. If you heard random yelling, it was probably coming from there. The booth was getting extremely hype with Scramble Mode. There was always a line that was 15-20+ people long to play.

Just tune them haters out, Keits.

I still can’t believe Daigo didn’t want to play =/

We are doing our best to have TWO DIVEKICK stations at EVO. One will be on free play all day Friday and Saturday, while the other will have our pay-to-play competition (same rules as at CEO).

Please come and join us. The lines move very quickly as DIVEKICK is a very fast paced game.

I think the very idea of an arcade-esque Divekick station is brilliant, especially given the game’s simplicity. It adheres to the oldschool design philosophy of simple to grok, quick to learn, hard to master, addictive as hell. Might even be an ideal main product. New SF2 and all that :stuck_out_tongue:

The arcade-style ladder competition at CEO was extremely popular. With something on the line every game, players were really working together to discuss strategy to dethrone the current streak-holders. On top of that, at $1 per play, compared to traditional Double Elim 2/3 tournament play, you get more games for your $10 (10 minimum, compared to 6 minimum).

Are you going to also be unveiling infinites this week for Kick/Mr.N? They seem to be able to hit the ground fast enough after a Dive for it to actually be viable.

Heres a video of LaserKick I recorded at CEO. I’m sure you guys already know what it is.

Noooooo thats broken!

Damn I’d like to play the game for Kung Lao Chan alone

We’ll have an announcement, hopefully, about this game’s future on Monday

so, you make an announcement that you would have an announcement o_O

Yup! Should I add advice from Uncle Sensei about announcement announcements?

please, that would be gdlk

I hear that @KeitsSRK guy tends to be on the up and up regarding Divekick announcements, sometimes even early. You should probably be following him on Twitter.
