Kinda funny how it’s still 5-5. It doesn’t really matter how much better Balrog is than Bison in certain aspects since he can’t exploit them in this matchup. Sure eating a jab means you also eat an ultra against Rog, but Bison gets out pretty much for free against Rog (except for TAP OS?) and this isn’t nearly the case the other way around. Also, Rog has a garbage crossup while Bison’s is pretty ambiguous. Although I think Balrog’s a better Bison in many ways, if you don’t think this is 5-5, then chances are you’re playing the matchup wrong.
Many Balrogs will tell you Bison has an advantage in this matchup. Many Bisons will tell you Balrog has an advantage. In fact, this is how me and my Rog friend used to think. In the end, each side has something pretty much abusable that evens the playing field for both. That being said, I think Balrog has a slightly easier time than Bison.
I find it funny how almost everyone here puts the Seth-Bison match up in Seth’s favour. If you go to the Seth forum most players consider Bison one of Seth’s hardest match ups (thanks in part to his ultra 2).
Just how much Seth experience do the Bison players here (saying it’s in Seth’s favour) have? And what makes you think it’s in his favour?
TBH, I don’t have a lot of Seth experience, this one guy beats up on me back in vanilla, and now I stand a bit more chance after evaluating my losses to him. I think it’s kinda even, maybe in Bison favor I daresay. Seth doesn’t have his Ultra 1 trap anymore, and Bison is invulnerable to the unblockables if they are still in the game. Seth’s wake up game isn’t really threatening, you can throw him out of SPD if timed right. I think his DP is actually pretty good because the hit box seems to be as generously big as Ken’s lineup of DPs.
Yeah, in vanilla it was in Seth’s favour… but he’s been heavily nerfed since then (less damage and stun, slower startup/recovery on moves and no ultra 1 trap) and bison’s U2 really helps lock down Seth’s options - this seems to be the shared opinion of all Seth players afaik.
Capcom removed all the sb > ultra unblockables in the tournament mode patch.
Seth’s dp is great, yeah - highest priority dp in the game (beats out ken’s), only negative is its 5 frame start up, where as most characters seem to have 3 frame dp’s.
Seth is just annoying but I think it is slightly in Bisons favor due to life and damage output. I liken playing Seth as to poking my eye with a needle. When I see someone pick Seth I think great I have to chase and deal with jump back fierce or the next 3-5 minutes of my life. Not what I call a fun time:)
so I’v played some really solid Ibuki players lately and it doesn’t feel like its in Dic’s favor. Is it just because I need to learn the reveral points in her block strings an how to block her a bit better?
I didn’t fight any good Ibuki’s on Bison either but I don’t find Ibuki a threat after they try to vortex you and fail. A lot of Ibuki’s online are still using day 3 shit. I don’t have the luxury of fighting good Ibuki’s offline either.
I have some matches against EMP The Arc saved… 3 to be exact. But only on the last one to I actually start to figure out something. And at that point I am more concerned about keeping 4000 pp than winning, wow I’m dumb. And even if I would have I felt like he wouldn’t of played me anymore, because I wasn’t quite on his level… close but not quite. So I didn’t waste his time. Too much respect maybe…
Im starting to think Adon vs Bison may be in Bison’s favor. Adon literally can not do anything if hes at the edge of st rh range. Anything he does will get stuffed including jumping since his jump has no range. Bisons high jump is good for evading jaguar kicks completely and landing and punishing. If your s rh footsie is on point he seems to have no options. Also his wall dive thing is ridiculously easily to ch with s rh unless its the ex version. Maybe I’ve just played shitty adons tho.
I think Adon can be pretty annoying at s.HK range. Trade some Jaguar kick or beat out s.HK or just chip you out with Jaguar kick too. I think it’s 5-5. But when you got meter, you better blast the shit out of Adon’s moves.
IBuki is 6-4 in bisons favor imo. I play one consistently and while her vortex can be scary at the start its no different then dealing with sakuras reset BS, once you know what to look out for it’s easy to block. Only thing you ever need to worry about on her wake up is ex dp which you can just wait out. Push her to a corner and work dat scissor pressure.
nah it’s an even match up. I play a solid turtely Adon quite frequently, you can’t ex pscho crusher away if they have U1 since it’s a free punish for them, and any Adon worth his salt is going to have solid footsies and never random jaguar tooth. It get’s a little easier when you have meter, but ultimately the match comes down to who has better fundamentals since it remains largely a poking match.
Its not just Ibuki’s vortex and if that is the only thing that scares you then tht Ibuki is still on week one shit… She has mad frametraps and super long blockstrings… not to mention some of the most crazy ass corner pressure Iv seen in the game, if bison has no meter he can get his ass raped fast! Oh yeah and she can jumpin behind her kunia and keep it safe, so you can’t AA her.
yes but the reverse is also true, combine that with the fact you can out poke her, that puts the match up in your favor. It can be a little frustrating if she is applying the pressure but it’s hardly overwhelming if you are patient.
Me and Lincoln had a good talk about that matchup (Ibuki Bison) and we both agree its a 5.5 in his favor.
Ibuki has the vortex and dictator has the rd scissor pressure but the vortex can be escaped more easily while Ibuki has her dp that gets her out of a pressure situation if she needs to have a option out.
Ibuki’s high jump also helps her out to jump in on dictator at certain ranges. Bison cannot point blank jump to her at all but handles her on crossups. Partially thereason its not even comes off Ibuki’s lower vitality and doesn’t outright dominate her because it can be hard getting in.
Rufus:
Rufus actually isn’t even imo and a certain Cali Rufus player thinks the match is 7-3 in Rufus’s favor but its highly exaggerated.
If your scared about getting in a vortex you could teleport cuz the only way she can punish is buy using meter and they will not opt to do that just to punish tele. So yea dont let her push you to the corner and bait out her dp.
