The stun might make it worth it, the damage most certainly won’t be.
Why wouldn’t you s.lk x2 after the FADC?
You could press st.lk-> st.lk -> cr.mk after the FADC if you wanted to, since the damage is the same. I just didn’t want to write out all the different variations, like ending with the combo with HK scissors.
Using st.lk, the spacing might change slightly so that st.lk -> close lp -> cr.mp might not work, but I haven’t checked that particular combo since cr.lp works just fine.
Preference, really.
I’m not too sure if the extra damage is worth 2 bars. I’m undecided as of yet. It could me MU dependent. I’d be happy to dish out less damage vs an Ibuki/Viper if I still have 2 bars for 2 different escapes from them doing a lot more damage.
Yeah, whether it’s worth the meter is debatable. The whole problem stems from fact that Bison halves his scissor damage when he FADCs. If this wasn’t the case, you’d be adding 154 damage instead of 84, and the damage would actually look pretty good.
So, I’ve read some of the posts concerning 2012 changes to Dic’s combos, but as a recent main switch from Honda, I’m wondering what combos you guys use on the daily? I mean, I’m relatively new to SF4 Dic (I fell in love with the evil bastard in ST), and I’m trying to figure out what his essential combos are in 2012. What combos would you tell a new Dic player to learn first?
clkclkclkclkkneepress is the most important combo, it can be utilized from crouch tech, and it can be used to dash punish stuff, also good for positioning because of the pushback.
Most of the damage comes from counter hits, pokes and throws, and hit confirming stuff into knee press and psycho crusher.
Does anyone bother practicing their FADC combos in AE 2012? Can’t say I’d ever use them in a serious match, but they certainly win style points.
Of course. You never know when you get a random cr.lk and you need that extra rep to finish them off, besides you can do plenty of useful combos with FADC that end in psycho crusher for better screen positioning or if you just wanna try and reset them with a frame trap.
I use to do them when I’m just messing around but in a serious match it can come in handy at the very end AOI vs DAIGO i wont never forget lol
Absolutely. FADC combo after ex.scissors is very useful.
Something I always wanted to know how to do but never ask
3 jumping strongs into ultra one (how in the heck you get the 1st strong off then jump back up so fast connecting the rest can some plz explain)
and does it work for ultra 2 by the way
to get 3 jumping strongs, you’d have to catch the first jumping strong on your way down, as the opponent is on their way up. it’s not practical.
3 jumping strongs doesn’t work with ultra 2, because u2 doesn’t have a high enough juggle potential.
To get the three jumping strongs I think you need to catch the other character while they’re still ascending. The first jump strong wil pop them up a little bit giving you a chance to land and jump again and get get jumping strong x 2 into ultra. I’ve never got it to work with ultra 2.
ok thanks guys so its sort of like the ehonda trial where u have to catch the jumping opponent with the sumo smash to super
I think you can get it by jumping back too, and catching them with one jMP, but yet again, its VERY dependent on spacing and other things. I’ve landed 3x Hell Attack like twice EVER
but yeah, other than that, you have to be descending while they’re ascending, in order to get the 3x Hell Attack
Very character specific combo: cr.lp, close lp, cr.mp, cr.mk xx whatever
It only works on:
Cammy
Honda
Blanka
Dudley
Gouken
Makoto
And maybe a few more characters if you catch them crouching.
This is notable, because Bison can go into this combo from scissors FADC. So you can do:
cr.lk xx lk scissors, FADC, cr.lp, close lp, cr.mp, cr.mk xx HP crusher (262 damage, 415 stun)
close hp xx hk scissors, FADC, cr.lp, close lp, cr.mp, cr.mk xx HP crusher (352 damage, 565 stun)
So for a 3-frame punish, instead of doing cr.lk x 3 xx scissors for 119 damage, you can get 262 damage for 2 bars, which isn’t too shabby.
Isn’t close lp > cr.mp a one framer? Also, cr.mp > cr.mk too? That’d be tough enough to do offline.
close lp -> cr.mp is one frame, but it’s plinkable. cr.mp -> cr.mk is 2 frames.
Bison has a bunch of 1-frame links that are useful (st.lk, st.hk)
Is st.lk into st.hk really a one frame link? Had no idea. Didn’t seem that difficult.
