I would like 2 know the difference between hard kick with all 3k
and normal hard kick
just tryin to get some “oohs” and “ahhs”
Few quick question from scrub, any good with those strange link?
s.HP into c.MK
c.MP x2
c.MK x2
I test those in training room, s.HP s.HK, c.MP into s.HK, close s.MK into s.HK, those are work fine, c.mp into s.HK is easiest.
there is a lot of bison normal can link together, like s.HP to s.HK, but not all useful (since timing is bad, and not guaranteed work, and I can’t risk for getting ultra/SRK for just throw a s.HK after a s.HP)
and recently I meet a very good gen which give me so much trouble for his funny overhead, and some of his normal is beating my normal,
is that spacing problem? or maybe because bison normal is not that GDLK but just spacing poke/tool?
same with Sakura, tasu into c.HP and EX, I can’t poke when she does c.HP, can’t even move…
and some GDLK VEGA with GDLK c.LP, I can’t even move, and just being c.lp to death.
and buffer and crouching tech, where can I learn this properly? I can NEVER do crouching tech right, and buffer?? I know in sim trial you need buffer one of his move and do other move first and just press different input while in motion, is bison capable doing that too??
thanks for answering my question.
Those are counter hit links.
They’re good to use when you’re not going for charge combos or the person cannot reversal.
It’s a timing issue. Crane c.LK juggles if I remember correctly. Both j.MK are pretty ambiguous.
Space and poke her out with s.MK/c.MP. c.MP is +frame on block.
Stop pressing buttons and let him mash it. He’s not dealing any real damage with it, surprise him with EX-Knee Press/ EX-Psycho Crusher when you read him spamming c.LP/c.MP
I personally hit it when I’m aligning it with the incoming ticks, I don’t really mash it hard, but sometimes my hands confuse themselves and I hit a lk~lp plink instead of hitting lk+lp and I get hit or thrown once a while.
s.lk beats a lot of vegas pokes
Not when he’s mashing it, his c.LP and c.MP have +frame on block so you’ll eat some counter hits and hit confirms into EX-Izuna.
Ok firstly, great youtube page Tony! I’ll be following your page now and take note of a few of your moves. Secondly, can anybody tell me whether you can a FADC a scissor kick into s.FP?
So… Scissor kick> FADC > St.FP
i’m going to go with no since the timing is already pretty tight on c.lk
It’s a counter hit setup with a 3f trap.
Bison doesn’t have strong reversals because his special moves are min 10f and non invincible unless you’re burning EX, but even those have long startup times.
Knee Press FADC forward puts you at +5f, close s.HP is 8f start, so there’s a 2-3f gap there, if you get it to hit [confirm] into c.MK you can deal some pretty good damage by ending it with HP Psycho Crusher/HK Knee Press.
The thing with FADC and M.Bison is… it sucks IMHO.
I’ve said it few times before, I think the SF4 engine is kinda tacky and the focus attack and dash cancel concept doesn’t really benefit majority of the charge characters as much; especially Bison. Look at it. Chun Li, Honda (now he has Ultra 2, but it’s not even the premiere choice for all of his match ups, so it’s selectively available), Balrog, Vega and whoever else I might’ve left out. Get my point?
You FADC off a Knee Press, you get a few options
Did it hit?
[]c.LK/c.LP into BnB combos.
[]c.LK xx MK Knee Press xx Super

Do nothing, shake them up, maybe they’ll get baited into a reversal… 50/50 and it’s just about the worst thing you can do, but if you do manage to bait a reversal, you better punish that shit hard. And I mean like at least a minimum of s.HP xx HP Psycho Crusher, Ultra 1, Ultra 2, the fucking works. Because if you’re doing it on a turtle player, that meter is going to be hard to come by and he or she sure as hell is not gonna let you build back up that meter at a tournament.
Grats. That’s it? Yep.
Did it get blocked? Inc more 50/50’s…
[]Do nothing again
[]Frame trap c.LK -> Close s.HP (6f?)
[]Frame trap Close s.MP (2f)
[]Frame trap c.MK (1f)
[]Frame trap Close s.HP (3f trap) -> c.LK xx LK Knee Press (continue chip damage pressure)
[]Frame trap c.MP (2f) -> c.MK xx HP Psycho Crusher (I think this works, but c.MP -> c.MK doesn’t work on everybody, some hit boxes are missed.

Throw
I think there’s one or two more traps but I don’t remember.
Yeah, FADC for Bison is kind of shit. These are not bad ideas toward the end of the match though. For a mental break and a chance to turn the game in your favor if it already isn’t is quite a decent gamble. It’s not bad either if you’re looking for a way to break a turtle’s comfort zone especially if you’re banking on pressuring them with safe LK Knee press/MK Knee Press (spaced for one hit) on block.
It doesn’t naturally combo.
You can do scissor kick -> Fadc -> cr. low kick (blocked) -> cl. st. fp (counterhit frame trap) into combo.
edit: looking at the wrong column ftl.
Blockstun isn’t the same as hitstun.
It doesn’t matter what strength scissors you use to FADC, you’re always at +0 on block and +4 on hit. The math is in the frame data thread.
I know it’s not the same. I was looking to explore a little more with FADC off HK Knee Press to bait and pressure Guile and other similar kind of characters that promote a lot of turtling against Bison.
So HK Knee Press FADC puts Bison essentially at the same technical advantage as LK Knee Press FADC?
Yup. Typically for special moves of different strengths, the block and hit stun are the same, but the recovery is different. Since FADC essentially turns your recovery into your forward dash, the frame advantage is the same.
There are exceptions, but Bison doesn’t have any, AFAIK.
Anybody know the advantage off of PC FADC and Slide FADC?
Don’t know about PC FADC but Slide FADC is -3 I think (couldn’t block Ryu’s reversal SRK after it, could block Dudley’s reversal EX SRK).
PC, forward FADC is the same as scissors, +0 on block. Slide forward FADC is -3 on block.
The data says EX-PC forward FADC is +4 on block, but I would double check that to be sure.
Food for thought.
Stack your chips in, friends. Force these suckers to take the damage with no chance of retaliation.
It takes about 23-27 chipped LK Knee Press to bring down the average SSF4 character down to about 50% stamina.
And it takes about 15 Head Press chip damage to take the average SSF4 character down to about 50% stamina.
Nothing new here, but if you’re on your last legs and the other guy doesn’t have much left, don’t spend that full Super meter on EX-Psycho Crushers, bait them into a super chip scenario. Though I have to admit, EX-Psycho Crusher tip chip into another EX-Psycho Crusher is a good bait sometimes.
Prescale values (I think)
From half screen distance, out of anybody’s poke range, slide cancel into Super, 85 damage
In poke range, c.MP xx HP Psycho Crusher xx HK Super, 103 damage
bleh wrong thread
C.MP C.MK
I know this is old news but I feel that it should be looked into further. I see almost no bison player use this link as punish. It’s stonger than close standing fierce. - close standing fierce itself does 100 damage. c.mp c.mk does 145 - The standard combo most Bisons use as punish is cl.st. fierce into scissors or crusher. FA2>fierce>scissors= 261dmg while FA2>c.mp,c.mk>scissors=278.
Notes: Does more damage than close standing fierce - SK/PC
Doesn’t work on every character
Best to be deep to connect
Probably most practical to use after FA crumple but I added in J.HP/J.HK as well.
