Dictator Combo Thread: He rules with an Iron Fist...of Energy!

I agree imo, but some dudes like the positioning more then maxing out on damage. its all up to how you play.

exactly. ending my combos with FP crusher in the corner? hell nah, i wanna put the pressure on, not be pressured.

Oh and one more thing PigJazz, if your like me and like to max out on damage as much as possible throw in far standing fierce punch in place of round house when its possible.

Silly question but when would be the best time to try for a tick throw? After a low short or a low/standing jab? I am noticing thats one of the next things I need to work on to give me a better mixup game.

Depends on who you’re fighting. You have to make sure they’re not going to press buttons as soon as you stop a blockstring to throw. Try “c.LK c.LK <pause> c.LK” and if they don’t press any buttons you can try a throw the next time you get them in a blockstring. Or if you blockstring -> crossup -> blockstring that’s usually a good time as well.

You can cancel far standing mp into super? was that possible in sf4?

Yep.

Hey guys!
I’m trying dictator out, and I would like to know what his frame trape blockstring is??! Could you guys help me out?

Thanks in advanced!

I like throwing after c. lp, cl. lp…c. lp is one of his most advantageous moves.

c.LPx2 c.mp

That seems to be viable as a frame trap but i can’t really check since my 360 is half dead now.

yeah that works, double cr.mp works too, and you can even slightly delay cr.mk in the cr.lp, st.lp, cr.mk xx scissors blockstring. you can also try cr.short, cr.mk, cr.short xx scissors. cr.short and cr.forward link off of a counterhit. you can try cr.short, st.roundhouse as well but i think the sexiest one is cr.short, st.close fierce, cr.short xx scissors. the frame trap is between the first cr.short and the st.close fierce. you can try a jump in variant of this with a j.mk (not too deep though), st.close fierce, cr.short xx scissors. I’ve been having a lot of luck with that one lately. oh and this is kind of a frame trap: cr.mp, st.rh or st.forward.

also a blocked level 2 focus and a dash in is a frame trap too. you can go in and start up short pressure afterwards. they can’t jump out either and if they do you’re timing your shorts a little off.

Somebody explain the relative merits of hit-confirms into c. MK xx whatever for me.

I usually use c. LP, s. LK, c. MK because I can hit that one with around 90% accuracy in a real match, but would something like c. LP, close LP, c. MK be more consistent in more situations? (i.e. crossups, weird spacing)

Also, what are the most consistent crossup combos to use on Balrog? I panic a lot in the Balrog matchup (I have trouble anticipating/reacting to his stuff in the ground game, and by extension knocking him down to set up crossups) and so when I do cross him up, I am rarely sure if I’m getting the right timing to stay deep enough in his incredible shrinking hitbox to combo into scissors.

Actually if you can do what you are doing more consistantly than s. lp then s. lk is a better option because it isn’t range dependant.

close LP is my crossup BnB except for certain characters like balrog, my balrog crossup combo is cr. lp, st. lp, st. lk, st. hk.

So you don’t even bother going for the charge special on crossup vs. Rog? I usually just go for the s. LK, s. HK link, too, but sometimes I get a bit too hopeful and get whiffed c. LK/c. MK xx nothing.

I wasn’t really aware that close LP, c. MK was the go-to link, I always kinda stayed away from it because of the speed it seemed to involve. I play on a cheap stick with really insensitive buttons (Hori EX2) and favored the s. LK, c. MK link because it seemed like I could do it slightly slower (since the buttons don’t press and depress as fast as Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons, I tend to take more time between presses and I have to smack them with more force).

On the rare chance that my followup skulldiver actually hits I always follow with cr.jab, st.short, cr.forward xx hp/ex psycho crusher

3lk combo

having trouble with bisons 3lk x sk combo:mad:
can anyone display a vid which shows the timing or perhaps the rhythm of finger presses on arcade stick? much appreciated

Try to plink it… c.lk, c.lk~c.lp, c.lk~c.lp xx lk sk (careful not to get lp PC by negative edgeing lp).

You cant plink cr shorts. Its probably working for you cause your are hitting short at just the right rhythm.

Bison’s c.lk being NOT chain cancellable, it can be plinked with c.lp.
