Yeah I think deep j.HP is safe too.
utterly pointless combo vid material but still fun to try nonetheless and it looks sexy as hell. took me like 45 minutes to get and i havent been able to do it since haha:
j. fierce, cl. fierce xx rh scissors > FADC > cr.lk, cr.lk, s.lk, cr.mk xx lk scissors > FADC > cr.lk, cr.lk, st.lk, cr.mk xx fierce psycho crusher
401 damage, 690 stun
lk scissors can be comboed into cr.lk? Or are you missing a FADC in there?
Pretty sure he just missed the FADC since scissors knock the opponent down.
yup, my bad. edited.
man damage scaling is retarded in sf4. if i can master that shit and use it in a match (yeah i know i could just super) i should be rewarded big time. nearly 700 stun aint bad though, you dont get that using even roundhouse super.
either way i think cr.lk, st.lk, cr.mk links are worth it and not as hard as it might seem once you start trying it as well as more normal combos so that Bison can be more of a threat even when hes walking forward.
too bad more normals don’t link, hopeflly this is something that will change in super. i’d love to be able to do cr.mk to roundhouse or whatever, just more creative blockstring options for bison.
I came up with a focus mixup works against sagat, blanka, and gief. Lvl 2 focus n. jp. hk which resets them then j.hk cross up bnb.Very sexy when gief gets stunned.no homo but footsie wise I would like a back hk or forward hk old school roundhouse with that cr.mk.
im going to ask this shit here because im not getting an answer in the relevant thread.
is level 2 blocked FA SAFE to dash in on? seems like its totally in the shoto’s favor when i do this becase they can actually mix you up more than you can them it seems. they could DP (it happens to me all the time, i read in the frame data thread that it was safe and i could continue in a string but i always get Dpd), they could throw if you think theyre going to DP and they know it. I guess I should use it in a more varied way and backdash with it instead of forward dashing for baits?
lastly, i never tried taking advantage of the auto guard shit in this game because…well i dont have a DP…but I do have teleport and its the same motion! how the hell does auto guard exactly work, it never seemed relevant to me so i never bothered looking it up. if shotos can mash DP through blockstrings, i should also be able to mash teleport yes? I’m perfectly comfortable exploiting the DP mash movement, so how exactly do i go about doing this in strings? i used to just look for gaps but if i can exploit the BS autoguard like shotos then by all means i’ll start using it. how do i do it while keeping autoguard?
Your getting hit because dp in invulnerable or invincible whatever they call it on start up.Doesn’t matter how much frame advantage you have. You throw something out it’s going to get hit.So you can dash in and teleport back kuma does that to mix it up or train them not to dp. If they throw a fierce dp that a lot of damage.
I think you can but you run the risk of sliding especially if your going to be mashing it also considering the recovery time if some one anticipates it you can get punished and I heard you can get ex pc but you only get one chance.
^ this
Also FA lvl 2 on shotos is very risky so i wouldnt try it too much. Just play a solid ground game, and remember to dash around like an idiot so they can’t zone u properly.
Btw GuruofGreatness ur a fathead for raping my guile (yes homo) in CM mode the other day:arazz:
I notice that Kuma likes to use C.MP into SK quite a bit, esp. off a dash-in. Is there some reason to use C.MP over C.MK? The only time I ever use it is when I’m comboing into Psycho Crusher
shoto cr mk gives dictator problems. I also like cr mp to xx pc but what ever makes u comfortable works. We all need 2 punish with the most damaging combo…,so st Fierce 2 pc or sk is best thus far
After all these pages I’m sure this has been discussed, but in the training mode I did cr. mp, (edit) cr. lk, scissor. I even landed this combo once as a crossup on a sagat I was playing last night. Not having any luck performing it consistently though. Is this combo a lost cause?
-didnt know cr.mp linked to s.lk
-you might mean cr.lk?
-cr.mp, cr.mk xx scissors is better. more damage, you can do fierce PC or roundhouse scissors off of it, and its probably just as tough to do as cr.mp s.lk, assuming thats what you meant.
-so yeah, give it up, not worth it when you can learn something just as tough but deals more damage.
-btw cr.mp cr.mk don’t work on Sagat. I couldn’t do it even when i had it around 80 percent perfect on the rest of the cast (not sure about gief or seth) and someone else confirmed it doesn’t work on him either. Sagat is a douche but this game has its glitches, like how blanka is hard to meaty with the same timing as most of the cast because his wakeup is so weird.
-you can also try cr.jab, close s. jab, cr.mp xx scissors. cr.mp does more damage than cr.mk, but its a 1 frame link from close s.jab to cr.mp as opposed to 2 frames with cr.mk. i think.
-PS you can do cr.mp, cr.lk too on people with big low hitboxes like chun. not sure about her for sure, but it does work, however no real need to learn this when you can just spend your time on practicing with cr.mk instead.
Sorry about that, meant crouching lk. I thought it make for a nice crossup combo but I simply can’t get it to land again in the training mode. Oh well, was worth a shot haha
wtf you did it on sagat?
maybe cr.mk just doesn’t work?
fck it. anyways both WORK, its just highly spacing dependent. im 99 percent sure cr.mp to cr.mk don’t work on sagat (works on i think everyone else), i’d recommend getting cr.mp cr.mk link down. comboing in off a jump in or FA can lead to some juicy damage, esp if you roundhouse scissors or fierce pc them at the end.
I’ve been working on it sparingly in the training mode as I’m still working on my st. roundhouse link from st. lk. I’ll have to play around and try to plink it.
Thanks for the games last night; it was cool to see you in action even with all that lag. The os techniques you showed me have been working great. I played a decent ken and was teching his kara throws with no problem.
^ GREAT to hear man. we need to give each other all the psycho juice we can. glad to hear that, must have been frustrating for that blonde bastard. jk - i honestly respect a good ken and ryu. they gotta work like we do in truth. easy to shit talk those chars, but Ryu-Bison is 5-5 ultra meter or not and same with Ken and they gotta work for their wins like we do even though they have abusable shit.
BTW I’m gonna go watch that replay real soon. I’m a man of my wurd.
No worries dude. I watched it again last night and compared it to the g3 one on my hd lol. I’ve come a long way but I’m trying to work in spacing and footsies. With that os tip I can try some blanka matches without getting elec while blocking haha
^ nah you still could because if the opponent doesnt throw your lk will come out instead. it actually beats elec as well as mk but the timing has to be right. i often eat elec because i try and option select tech. but im sure it was good for you to actually practice it with someone instead of just applying theory right away in a match. anyways, see you on again soon.
After looking at Bison’s crouching short options, I’m really liking crouching short(*2) -> standing short -> crouching forward -> SK. Or, change the crouching forward -> SK for standing round house. Trying to get as much damage as possible out of every landed crouching short and the second crouching short -> standing short should make it easier to hit confirm.
Also, crouching jab -> close jab -> crouching strong -> standing round house is a nice non-charge damage combo. I can’t believe how safe Bison’s round house is on block. Crazy stuff. It’s encouraging more normal combo study and training from me.
