I know that there’s a video of Spider Tao doing it with cr. LK x3. As I recall, he doesn’t get the whole combo to work, but he conveys the general idea.
I’ve actually seen this done by a Japanese high level player. Although it didn’t work; I’m sure against some people it could work. :karate:
I have a hard time believing that you have enough time to charge cr. mk >scissor over and over, I’d love to be wrong though.
Ahhhh, yeah. Cr. MK into Scissors is a different story. I’ve only seen it done with the cr. LKs. Agreed: I’d love to see that, too. lol
I don’t think scissors, FADC, c.MP works, c.MP is too slow. When I try a FADC combo I usually go for c.MK/c.MP/s.HP xx scissors, FADC, s.LK, s.LK, c.MK xx HK scissors. A little bit harder than c.LK after the FADC but better damage. Don’t think it’s really worth it though, still pretty bad damage and risky.
I am having trouble with connecting the scissor kick in clp, slk, cmk, light scissor kick.
I know it can be done, but I can never get it to come out let alone connect. Is there some sort of trick to charging or something?
And not to be an ass but please don’t respond with “use clp, clp, cmk, scissor kick”. I’m not trying to do that.
Dually noted. Now, I’m not trying to be an ass, either, but why bother with that combo? I’m actually curious – I’m not being rhetorical. It seems like if you were wanting to do anything using the aforementioned tools you’d use the light attacks the other way around (cr. LK into cr. LP then cr. MK) for the sake of getting a low attack in there. If not, then, like you said, the BnB combo tends to be a better option. Yeah, you did. If I wanted alternatives to that combo I would have said:
“I can’t clp, slk, cmk, sk to work. I have so much trouble with the scissor kick so I need an alternative. Does anyone know of any?”
Of course I wouldn’t even say this because I know there are a bunch of alternatives at the start of this thread.
Anyway, I have already tried what you mentioned. The cmk doesn’t always reach. Are you still curious? Okay.
Well usually the problem with the SK not coming out is because you’re either not getting enough charge time, or your trying to cancel it too early/late.
If you can’t get it to work by just standing around, try doing it with a jump in or FA so that you have extra time to charge. If that still doesn’t work, try to adjust when you’re moving from db.mk to foward to get to scissors. Btw, you can go from db to df to activate scissors, which makes things a lot easier. A big thing that people don’t do is actually still hold d/b until the c.mk is out and then to move it.

can someone explain why everyone is using c.LP, s.LP, c.MK xx scissors?
I always go c.LP x 2, c.MK xx scissors… is it a frame thing between the standing lp ?

cr. lp: 1 frame link
st. lp: 3 frames

well it deals the same damage and a lot easier to do, so it’s a better option in a lot of people’s opinion, it’s also very easy to do, most people think it’s difficult to hold a charge when going from d/b to b and then back to d/b, but practice makes it become super easy.
I agree c.jab, s.jab, c.mk is eaiser and since it 3f I never not have Knee Press charged in. Does c.mk, c.stron, s.Fp really link? Also 4x c.shorts will whiff on certain characters even after cross up. Balrog I can only get 2x c.short on him.

I’m pretty sure I’ve landed 3 in a row on him, but I’d go with two just to be safe.
(that is if 4x c.lk into scissors is your preference after xup for ease of input)
There are probably other characters on the roster that you can’t link four shorts on, but he’s the only one I can say for sure.
Why do you people finish a jump in Fierce punch combo with anything other than another s.FP + Fierce punch+ psycho crusher when the jump in connects? I am sure there is a reason ( I am very bad at this game ;p ) though it seems this combo does more damage than most the others I see used. It’s also easy.
You meant why we would finish a combo with knee press instead of crusher? Positionning is the main reason.
sometimes if your j.hp doesn’t land deep enough, following it up with s.hp won’t connect clean and you’ll get blocked+punished, or eat reversal SRK moves outright.
