anyone know the timing in seconds or mili-seconds of the c.lk to c.lk link? I want to take a stop watch to work and get the timing down when I sitting at working doing nothing.
Yup, you can connect a FA1 if you catch them with mp (1hit) out of the air. I just wonder if you have enough time to catch them with a Ultra after the FA(DC) hits?
The game functions at 60 frames per second. 1 frame is approx 16 + 2/3 milliseconds. c lk c lk is a 2-3 frame link (the numbers suggest 2, but people say you need to add 1 frame for SF IV link calculations), so:
33-56 milliseconds.
Would you recommending getting the timing down as press lp 3 times will result in 3xc.lp or (what I do now) and mash the lp button as fast as i can and hope I link. So do I work on my timing or my mashing speed?
I’m thinking timing but just want to make sure.
also looking at this frame data:
LK:
3/2/8/+1/+4/10/13/20/50/20
I assume the moment I press c.lp it start to hit on 0.48sec to 1.20sec and then on hit I have .33sec to press c.lk again.
Do i also have 2 frames to link SK too?
Is my math right on c.lp startup and hit?
mashing won’t work w/ link combos. you’ll just end up canceling instead of linking.
I would work on the timing. Mashing is only going to work with cancels like c lp * 3–links require timing like c lk * 3
I have seen a couple of people using s.lp in their links from c.lk instead of c.lp, does this combo have a less strict timeframe compared to the combo consisting of all crouching attacks followed by a SK? (I.e. Bison’s final hard trial)
yes st.lp is a lot more lenient than c.lp or c.lk.
it also gives you SLIGHTLY more time to charge.
Thanks for the confirm. I am at about 75% accuracy online with matching the link with the frame, but I am almost certain using s.lp rather than the full crouch combo will boost my consistency quite a bit.
Appreciated.
Sorry if this question has already been answered but there’s so many pages.
What is Bison’s best punisher combo with Meter and without?
Thanks.
It depends on how close you are. I think cr. mp> cr. mk>scissors is possibly the most damaging one, it is a one frame link though.
Unfortunately I don’t think meter makes that much difference because Bison doesn’t have FADC combos. So the only way to do more damage with meter is to Super cancel the scissors.
I would like to add the c.mp>c.mk>scissors combo to my game but for some reason I have a hard time getting a good rhythm going with it. The longer strings that contain a one frame link are a bit easier for me I think just because my fingers start moving in a rhythm, so the shorter, simpler ones start to throw me off.
I’m on psn now genocide_mode. This is really my boys account I normally play under Fort_knox
What’s the best tactic to fight against a Zangief and Sagat?
Also when’s it alright to use slide? (c.Rh) At max distance to be safe?
Is St. RH the best poke or is St. MK?
Best anti-air?
well you could do c.mp, c.mk xx SK three times in a row with a full super meter… because bison DOES have FADC combos
Actually I just tried st.Fierce > HP Pyshco Crusher and that does more damage. I’m gonna use this combo to finish up my FA crumbles if I don’t have meter/ultra. :wgrin:
Bison’s FADC combos do such crap damage tho.
Also on another note, I noticed that jumping mpx2 with ex scissor on land does LESS damage then just regular mpx1 and s.RH when they land. =[
most damaging combo I’ve found off of j.mp(1) that doesn’t use ultra is
j.mp(1), far s.hp 180dmg
j .mp(1), close s.hp/hk 170dmg
update the first post ffs
So, tonight I stumbled across an interesting application for Bison’s Ultra. My friend was using Honda, and I was back across the screen (i.e., full-screen). I was pumping D. Reverse, trying to get him to take the offensive. He finally started to inch out, and I used safe cr. HK slide to catch him on his tip-toe. Even though he blocked it, I was safe, and I’d never lost my charge from when I was in the corner. As soon as I recovered he tried to Oichi, and I used N. Booster – he ate the whole thing.
I know that this is gimmicky at best, but I caught him with it 2 or 3 times over the course of about 20 to 25 matches. It’s a strange, quasi-clever way to catch certain characters (namely grapplers) off-guard: safe-slide in to bait command grab, and use Ultra. I dunno; I thought some of you might find it handy once in a while. Hope it helps.
