so u have 2 dash? I’ll have 2 play w/that a bit more.
ya won’t work unless u dash… and ya let bison almost go into crouch animation… then do the ex head stomp like .5 second delay after the dash …so far ex skull diver consistently hits on zangief and balrog… i got it once on cammy though… but i think that was like just frame timing or something like that…
Im trying to develop a stun game with bison, and so far these are the combo’s Ive been using.
j.fp, st.fp, Fp psyco crusher (560 stun) i use this often against non shoto’s.
j.hk, cr.lp, st.lp, st.hk (430 stun)
j.hk, st.hk or j.fp, st.fp (400 stun) I usually teleport after this.
Most of bison’s bnb’s do around 350 stun, but I’ve started using j.hk as my combo starter/cross up instead of j.mk, so now I get 450 stun if I connect with a bnb.
If someone could try these out and give me some feedback/suggestions I’d really appreciate it.
i only like using the first one… but with scissors kick instead of the crusher… i don’t really think bison needs to worry that much about stunning the opponent with combos… he has s.hk for that… i think when u get a combo it’s more important to think ahead and position yourself right… if u don’t have charge cr.lp, s.lk, s.hk is a quick punish option… oh and j.hk just doesn’t seem to be as good and reliable as j.mk for a cross up…
Ive had no problem with j.hk as a cross up, the spacing for it is tricky in order for it to be effective, but training mode solved that problem.
Im not saying bison needs to be played this way, but if i pull off a good combo with decent stun im gonna chase for it.
Question: I’ve seen players like Inoe do this:
Jump in/FA -> cr. jab -> st. jab -> cr. light kick -> scissors
Now the question is, why is the second jab standing up? Does it do more damage? Easier to do? Personally I find just doing double cr. jab easier.
Also, about keeping charge in a FA. So when you dash in after a FA, your charge doesn’t go away?
the standing close jab has better advantage on hit, so it’s better for linking. I think it’s the best normal to use to link into his crouch MK.
No…you can enter the dash input really early in the focus attack. So, hit it early and immediately start charging, don’t even wait to see if your character actually started to dash because he will. Just practice it a few times, it’s really not as hard as it seems. As for dash up into ultra immediately…I can’t seem to do it but it’s not necessary for his combos.
Also when think about w/the stun game. Against a hard match up it can mos def give Bison a extra scar tatic. Avg stun is 1000. So adding that to ur game is a good tool to have. Do a nice combo and if ur having a hard time landing BnB go for stun. Ey it only makes sense.
Anyone have issues when using c.jab c.jab c.mk xx scissors when you cross up? I seem to be out of range a lot after the 2nd crouch jab. Any advice? Maybe alter the comb a bit?
ya man… do cr.lp, s.lk, cr.mk xx scissors… or instead of cr.mk do cr.lk to make it a lot easier but give up some damage…
I have a new found love for the cr.LKX4xxLKSK. That or the cross-up MK>cr.LKX3xxLKSK.
i’ve seen a lot of good bison players do this combo after a skull diver…
skull diver, cr.lk, cr.lk xx lk scissors…
i was wondering why do that when u get crap damage??? why not do something more damaging? i was testing some more damaging combos and these seem a lot better…
skull diver, s.lk, cr.mk xx hk scissors = 297 dmg & 335 stun
skull diver, s.hp, cr.lk xx mk scissors = 333 dmg & 445 stun
ex skull diver, s.lk, cr.mk xx hk scissors or hp psycho = 337 dmg & 435_470 stun
ex skull diver, s.hp xx hk scissors or hp psycho = 384 dmg & 525_560 stun
and if skull diver was blocked just switch the last hit to lk scissors to make the string safe…
watching that dj-B13 video where he did FA lvl 1 on a mid air opponent into ultra i checked out some more stuff with bison’s FA and he gets crazy with mid air FA hits… so, so far he has…
on mid air opponent…
FA lvl 1 > ultra credit to dj-B13
FA lvl 2 > ultra too hard for me but possible i believe
FA lvl 2 > s.hk = 186 dmg
FA lvl 3 > cr.hk = 238 dmg
FA lvl 3 > ex pc or ex sk = 262 dmg both ex pc & ex sk hit both hits and look pimp
FA lvl 3 > j.mp x2, ex sk = 253 dmg ex pc doesn’t work
FA lvl 3 > j.mp x2, ultra = 481 dmg credit to Poongko
man, i forgot how cheap bison was til i started playing with him again… makes no since how much work and effort i have to put in playing with Dhalsim… and then I play people online with bison… and it’s like… what the hay-yel… only 3 move’s to beat people… no strategy or nothing… just common sense… I hate him… but I love him… He’s so EVIL…
NO POWAH…
but i’ve tried some of these combo’s in training mode… i’ll have 2 see if they help me online… that will definetly improve my game alot… thanx guyz…
First bit of advice: drop the ellipses.
it should hit if you time the link right. its a 1 frame link i think (HO HO RHYMES) so it might be kinda hard.
try doing cr.jabx2, cr.lk, scissor or cr.jab, stand jab, cr.mk/lk, scissors. the timing on those is easier. OR you can do cr.lkx3, scissors, but i do the first 2 because im a scrub and cant link 3 crouching shorts :\
ex skull diver, s.hp xx hk scissors or hp psycho = 384 dmg & 525_560 stun
does bison have any other combo that is more damaging than this without using a super?
Goddamn I gotta practice up. I can pull off his bnb j.mk, cr. lp, st. lp, cr. mk xx knee press constantly in training mode but as soon as I get into a versus I start mashing out of control.
Yup… same here.
I have a very hard time doing these online… maybe it’s lag, maybe it’s my lack of competence… but I just tend to go for
j.mk, c.lp x 3, c.lk xx nee prez
when playing online
not as much damage but way better than not comboing at all
and @ t3h mAsTarOth…!
how do you pull off this combo? When do you start the charging?
ex skull diver, s.hp xx hk scissors or hp psych
because I can’t charge while still ariborne, right? Because else I would miss… and s.hp without a following c.mk just isn’t enough time to charge for nee prez
maybe I’m just charging too late… when do you start your actual charging?
I find myself attempting to do combos faster than I should in a real fight because it is more exciting than training mode.
