blizz already announced D3 will be CD region locked just like SC2 and WOW, but the lock can be bypassed (chinese gold farmers) by purchasing the game for the region where you want to play. Blizz, as mentioned by Surfer above, would have to take drastic measures to get rid of them. honestly, if they haven’t done it with WOW. i doubt they’ll do it with D3.
cant they block none american ip address from using american servers? i mean i dont know how that is supposed to work but maybe they can do some sort of filter outside of CD region since it will require internet to play.

Unless by “drastic measures” you mean “blow up China” then I highly doubt there’s even anything they can do to stop their army of farming slaves in the first place, even if they dumped considerable resources into it. Chinese would just find another loophole.

installing a game, playing a game with, and allowing into auctions, are different things. Hell, imagine somebody in a really shitty third world country, they could find a rare drop and probably conquer a village/province with their SoJ auction money. Its not hard to not allow people onto certain servers. MMO’s are quite different than the beast that Diablo III is. And I really don’t recall ever seeing non north americans when I played Diablo II.

Remember… All skills are at lvl 1 forever. They just increase in dmg as you level up.

still, i was expecting there to be items like “+20% damage on fury spenders” or “+800% reflected damage” and not just shit like “+200% damage across the board on everything you do herpderp”
