Diablo 3?!

So you are a javazon, you use a Stormshield. You’re a sorc, you use a Spirit Monarch. Doesn’t sound like much customizations to me. The WoW bashing doesn’t work either because they have different gear for different builds as well. Eventually, there are going to be thousands of the same people with your build. So much for customization.

I guess clicking +1 to a certain stat is fun though and makes it seem like I’m really customizing my char.

I don’t know how the items in D3 are going to be like, but I have faith in Blizzard.

You’re talking about efficiency, that’s why you don’t feel the need for chars to leave their comfort zones. That’s cool and all, but there are many people (such as me) who prefer variety and would rather experiment and use the wackiest setups just to see how much ass we can kick. Having little choice in what we’re allowed to equip limits our creativity.

Besides who doesn’t like beating a WW Barb with an Enchantress?

Blizzard.

customization is based on individual input. if one buys a car and wants it’s color to be red. that is customization, despite the fact that there are thousands of red cars of the same model on the road. Blizz has decided to go the hand holding route when it comes to customization. the elimination skill points, auto- stats ,and respecs further ensures that Blizz will achieve their ultimate goal of players not screwing up their builds by making the process “convenient and accessible”. frankly, i saw the handwriting on the wall when i read some of their reasoning why the weapon switch hotkey was (apparently, it too confusing for players ) eliminated. in any event, it’ll be interesting to see if they can pull this off.

yeah, there are some who prefer not to play cookie cutter builds.

Honestly, I can’t blame Blizz.
They saw how much money can be made by holding the hands of retards with WoW.

fuck :frowning:

I was hoping there would be more weapon switch settings now.

I recommend you all to watch this video!!! This guy lets Blizzard have it with his thoughts on D3. LoL!!!

That’sh that funniesht shit I ever shaw.

omg, this is another funny one:

I’d love to have that setup but it (like many things in Diablo) tend to be very gear dependent. if sets that make your characters more unique didn’t require such a heavy gear investment then I’d run them more.

this is diablo we’re talking about

every build is gear dependent, except for your first character which you will use to steal loot from bots and accumulate gear for future generations of stronger characters

not every build is but point is It was one things that I never had the time nor care for…I play untwinked plain and simple.

No more cool and unique builds like this one. No more Trap/Whirlwind assassin’s, singer barbs, dagger necros, etc. In D2, any class could be a melee or caster-type character. No way a Wizard is gonna be able to go melee in D3, and neither is a Barb or Monk going to be able to become a caster if they wanted to.

HEY IF YOU WANT TO BE A CASTER, BE A WIZARD!
THIS IS REALITY OK

Best thing about D2 was how there was a lot of viable skills to main after the introduction of synergies.
D3 will end up being like an MMO, where only 1 DPS build will be viable and the rest will be shit.

But I am talking out of my ass, as are the rest of us. Since no one here has played it.

So I hope Blizzard proves us naysayers wrong.

Are items in D3 just class requirements? I’m assuming D3 will have gear that all classes can use therefore unique builds will still be possible.

Not to be a jerk, but I want to know.
I just wanted to ask, 977 life, 7.6k AR? (without seeing your gear) Not sure how you’re gonna live versus a WW Barb besides superior skill.

Willing to lay down a strategy/experience and/or an item layout?
I assume 75% ctb, faster block rate, 50% DR, and hopefully items to reduce damage further.

Ya isn’t a barb gonna be packing like 25k+ def at that point?

That picture was wayyy before I fought the guy so the stats/equip isn’t necessarily accurate, it was taken a bit after patch 1.10 came out so I didn’t really have the best items (I didn’t even have an annihilus then). Changed my setup midway from an Avenger to a Bear Sorceress as I learned and got better stuff.

It’s been a while since I’ve thought of D2 but IIRC my setup was:

  • CTA for BO buff, Leaf orb for Enchant, Beast to switch forms and then finally switch to Kingslayer phase blade (many stash trips)
  • shael’ed SS
  • Kira’s
  • Angelic Ammy
  • CoH (or Stone Archon, forgot)
  • Magefists or Bloodfists (?)
  • Sandstorm boots
  • verdungos
  • 2x Angelic Rings

From my memory at the end I had like 2.5k life w/ CTA and over 4k in bear form, coupled with shiver armor I was pretty alright.

Also the Barb he had full IK set on so it’s not the best set of equipment for PvP so yeah, maybe I just got lucky. Frankly I had more trouble against this WW assassin and he kicked the shit out of me.

Ok, I can imagine your life, AR,def etc with bear form and items. Blocking must have sucked in bear form though.

And yes, WW Assassins are fucking badass to be or fucking frustrating to fight against, when played well.

Ahhhhhhhh precious log in screen.
