Finally fought a Juri player who knew what he was doing. He beat me pretty easily. Her dive kick is a bitch. It makes AAing her basically impossible, though neutral jump strong is useful at stuffing her jump-ins before she activates the dive kick.
The way she can pressure Sim at close range with her lk wheelkick is insane. It usually beats b. lk and b. mk pretty handily.
This match-up is gonna be a bitch."
This is from playing CPU Juri so…ya haha…try short or medium slide under the wheelkick depending on strength of wheelkick then follow up with throw, fire, flame, whatever. You can also teleport to the other side of her wheelkick, because the animation takes so long - again, follow up with whatever. Oh yeah, stay away from the corner lol Also some of her dive kicks may not be not safe on block, not 100% sure on this.
i’ve been using ex up blast to beat/trade with juri’s divekicks. i know the pinwheels are unsafe on block but i haven’t quite found what i can punish them with as dhalsim.
i played against a competent makoto today and I can assure you that this matchup will haunt you if you run into a good one. as with most of the 3s characters, and all the new ones for that matter, she has multiple ways of closing the distance in a second.
he would stay in the safe place between standing fierce and right on top of me. her dash is so fast that you will get pummelled if you throw any pokes. Her standing mp stuffs b. mk and standing fierce and range, c. mp works good. her damage is retarded and her stun is off the chart.
I tried to be in the Iyo zone which about 1/2 screen to 3/4 but I couldn’t react fast enough to her, she was outside then she’d dash, fadc in my face etc. also the jumping axe heel kick she has can be done so low that its almost like a standing move. this is stuffed by low attacks but I had my hands full just trying to poke her out. This matchup is rough in the right hands, I don’t even want to think about what a competent dudley will be like when he is on top of you.
i think dudley loses pretty bad to zoning and footsies. sure he has ducking to go through fireballs but you can throw him out of it if he does it too late. he also jumps super high so he’s pretty easy to AA.
Plus he has a People’s Elbow of his own, that wily chump!
I really need to face a competent Dudley. Most of the Dudleys I’ve faced so far I’ve been able to zone out quite easily with very straightforward poking. In fact I just double perfected a 4500BP Dudley and to be honest, I’m not even that good of a player. I didn’t do anything special.
My biggest frustation so far comes from Adon players who just spam Jaguar Tooth. That move is mad safe on block (it’s probably -1 or something crazy like that) and most scrubby Adons do it over and over and then make you guess on whether they’re gonna throw or mash Rising Jaguar. :looney::looney:
I spent a bit in training mode trying to find ways around it with little success. st. fwd beats it clean if timed right but otherwise you’ll just eat a counter-hit. And the timing is pretty tight. Sliding underneath works but if he decides to mix it up between the roudhouse and forward versions he’ll kick you in the face for trying to slide.
There’s probably an easy solution that I’m missing. But so far I’m hating the match-up. :looney:
Yeah, I was looking in training mode for punishers and noticed that too. My execution is still lacking though. I always end up teleporting and I promtly get Tomahawk’d.
Yeah, it’s the almighty knee!! Seriously, once I got tired of blocking that move and eating throws or RJs, I decided to throw out the knee when they jumped to the wall and to my surprise it beats it clean for free. Way easier than hitting Juri’s dive kick, and if they do a lk or mk version you are safe from anything they can do after landing. I’m beating Jagga Toofs like 99% of the time now, even EX.
Ha! I was so sure it’d beat the Mighty Knee clean I don’t think I even tried it.
So I hopped into training mode and, indeed, it beats RH and EX Jaguar Tooths…er…Teeth?
Still need to get the timing down though. It has to be done kinda early, specially online. I did beat two of the three flowchart Adons I faced last night so it’s all good. :woot:
No, don’t backdash to try and avoid it. If you are caught recovering you just have to try and block the right direction, but if you are not in recovery at all just jump up.
No, it’s a hit Ultra, and if you had a HP out there then that is why you got hit by it. It can be blocked, but it can crossup and it can also catch you as a tripguard like Sim’s Ultra 2 can. I mean look at the fucking hitbox on this thing. And just so you know he can combo into it like his Ultra 1 off of an air to air mp.
I told you homeboy, JUMP!! You slide or teleport and you are going to eat that fucking ultra. If you are recovering from a normal or a fireball, you have to hope you recover in time to block. If you are not in recovery and you see him ultra, FUCKING JUMP. Simple.
Edit: My bad, I guess I didn’t mention jumping earlier. So yeah, jump on reaction.
