I usually teleport when I see tostada/air grabs comming instead of YT, because if he does tostada, YT won`t help you. You can teleport on reaction and stay safe on most cases
I assume you mean when you see Fuerte run, because I’m pretty sure no human can react to whether Fuerte is going to do run-splash, run-throw, run-slide, or run-stop in time to decide whether to block or teleport. Don’t teleport too much. I’ve baited (as Fuerte) and been baited into (as Dhalsim) teleports with run-stop, and they can be punished with any number of things, from slides to jabs to supers to ultras.
I meant when he runs and I see him jumping, he’s going for a throw or a tostada.
It’s possible to react that, just see his foot leaving the ground.
Nice, you must have pretty crazy reaction times. Personally, I definitely can’t both react to that and decide whether to teleport or block before it’s too late.
Sorry man, I don’t know anything at all about Cammy or how to play against her, and I don’t have a PS3 either. Good luck!
Same here. If I see him start to run, I’m already in the air. Honestly, against El Fuerte, if he’s anywhere other than across the screen from me, I’m constantly jumping back.
I just listen for squekey shoes. That helps me ID the Run. If he flips in the air that Dx grab is coming. He he jumps the spalsh is coming. Ino blocks fuerte mix up good. Thats the only player I noticed who just blocked it.
Probably would be worth it to have someone play fuerte in training mode and randomly alternate between slam, grab and kick slide until you can learn to block them effectively.
Swagga Jacker (Seth theory)
I really think w/Seth u have to anticipant as much as he does. When he wall jumps I would Yoga port over next or behind him and immediately b+Fp into combo. I seriously cannot imagine seth giving me problems. U can hit far away just how he does you, but Sim strecthy limb retract faster than Seths. I think since seth is more mobile teleport should be a friend here. This is theory. I have yet to see or even fight sim v.Seth.
I am having a hard time vs rose, her air grab and the punch move she does always get me.
I am not that good yet at sf in general, most of us that always play can’t even do move cancels, except I am getting pretty good with dhalsim, I only have the last challenge on hard left to go.
My friend who plays rose really only spams low heavy kicks and spams out special moves nonstop. By that I mean he pretty much freaks out on the controller hoping a special move will come out. He also plays zangeif a lot, and he only spams lariats and jumps at you and does zangief grabs. He just plays really agressively and spams moves.
He wins about half the time when Im dhalsim, (with any ryu character I can win easily, but theyre boring to play) but it seems like I am a lot better than him, so I should be dominating
I played a surprisingly good Rose the other day, and got my ass handed to me.
A couple things I noted:
Some of her close normals, have ridiculous priority. Its quite easy to get beat up badly up close when trying to use normals.
Some of her Soul Sparks (hp and ex I believe), are high enough to hit you out of Yoga Tower.
Soul Grab isn’t much of a concern, but it can be used in anticipation of an IAT and grab the Sim out of it (I didn’t expect this).
Roses Ultra can be used to quite easily punish jumping/teleporting/anything in the air. If the animation comes out, and you are in the air and in range, your probably going to get hit. I managed to teleport out a couple times, but the timing was really strict. I lot a lot of matches by getting baited into the Ultra.
YT goes over soul spiral, which got me some free grabs in there.
Yeah a good Rose player will have me scared to jump or throw out ANY limb once she has ultra, especially if the meter is full. That Sham-Wow does insane damage!
You guys are scaring me now. Rose is one character that I face where I have no fear of losing. I must have been playing bad Roses because I haven’t seen any of the stuff you guys are talking about.
Most Roses I’ve seen play somewhat or do play defensively, and thus, don’t do much against a good Sim player.
But this one I played was very very aggressive, and would constantly rush me down.
One thing I got from playing a pretty decent viper for about 20 matches last night. First off…her flame kick cross ups are hell. What this guy was doing was a jump knee and then he’d alternate between front or back flame kick. I was trying to teleport out before the jump knee connected, but because of her going into the flame kick afterwards and how wide it hits, I was reappearing right into and still getting hit.
So what I ended up doing was blocking the jump knee, and then immediately teleporting after the block. Doing that made me reappear after the flame kick had expired and then i was basically fine.
tell me why geef can walk through ultra with ex bear grab … im soo pissed right now
Whoa! Really? That’s just wrong!
What? It shouldnt…it should take one hit and then he should die! Lariat goes through EVERYTHING though…except sweeps =D.
Just tested it, he cant walk through it. Like I said, he absorbs one hit and then gets hit by the full thing. Maybe when you did it the ultra was almost gone?
What probably happened is that Gief was very close to him, but not SPD close.
He did EX Bear Grab, and the Sim probably did Ultra on reaction. Gief may have absorbed the first hit of the ultra, and before the second hit him, grabbed Sim. Once the grab animation starts, the Ultra does no more damage.
Ah ok, that makes sense then. I cant test it at that close since my reflexes arent good enough.
Can someone help me with Butt-Slamming spamming Hondas and sweep abusing Guiles? Blocked buttslam leads to a command grab, a teleback leads to the buttslam scenario again. And I dont know if I can hit Guile between his double sweep. I know that if I wait till afterwards, he can flash kick out of it.
For the buttslam, I block and punish with b.mk xxx yoga flame, or I ex focus, and yoga flame xxx super while he’s in crumple. Focus seems to work pretty well though if you know its coming and get it out in time. With Guile you can focus the second kick of the sweep and put him in crumple, once again it helps if you know its coming.
