Dhalsim - YOGUH!

Forget tick throws, you read people minds! It’s like an advanced form of screen peaking, only worse because it’s an invasion of privacy! Next time I play you I’m going to think my myself naked the whole time. :annoy:

In all seriousness, ggs. You’re zoning is pretty ridiculous. I feel like most of the time I’m praying for a knock down so that I can actually get close do you.:wasted:

Are you using ken against him?

Nah, I was playing as the big angry black man. Thankfully I know what half of my problems are. I try to headbutt through yoga fires too much (free damage for Sim). I’m just not used to jumping over fireballs on people because I play so many shotos that will uppercut me out of the air.

Lol, i prefer to sweep.

All three of those can be very tough matchups. I prefer to play Chun out of the three. A good Cammy can be very bad for Sim and you know how I feel about Vega.

I’ve also found Honda to be a really tough matchup for Sim despite the fireball issue.

How to reverse Honda’s Ochio tick?

maybe jump, or teleport? He needs an elephant punch.:rofl:

“Hey, is that a McRib behind you!?”

-runs-

You have two chances. You can reversal the tick or reversal the throw. So, on wake-up, when he goes to do the tick you can counter throw, super, teleport. Same thing when he goes to throw, although counter throw rarely works here. I’m not sure if it’s because he pushes you out to far or if command throws beat regular throws.

With that said, the best way is to avoid the Ochio is to never let him get close to you. Seriously, if a good Honda is on top of you, you’re probably dead. Zone that fool out :wgrin:

I do not understand how it is possible to reversal the throw portion since it has no whiff and longer range than Sim does. Would it simply not result in Honda blocking and then punishing ?

yea it would result in honda getting the throw every time. wouldn’t it? because what would sim do? he can’t throw honda and if honda’s throw has less start up than sims normal than he would get the throw

As long as Dhalsim is in range to throw Honda, if he times the reversal throw perfectly (Ie the first frame he recovers from blockstun after the tick) he will always get the throw, as the defender has the 1 frame advantage in that situation.

Like SweetJohnnyV says, it all depends on whether the tick Honda uses pushes Sim out of his throw range or not. I don’t think a meaty crouch jab does, but I can’t be certain. Granted if i’m counter thrown by Sim it tends to be during the tick and not the throw attempt.

Why would a honda player not just always tick from outside sim’s range ?

Isn’t the range on Dhalsim’s Fierce the same as Ochio? I could be wrong, and if I am, the Ochio has a needle tip of a better range.

More than double the range.

Ideally they would, but I imagine there are situations where the honda doesn’t have time to get to that sweet spot but wants to try to ochio anyway.

I can’t seem to reversal super, ever. I’m so used to one-frame-late super from ST that I seem to get it non-reversal or the super doesn’t come out. Need to work on that.

Is using d/f+mp to lower your hitbox and throw them upon landing a viable anti-air, perhaps in any specific matchups? I know it has to do with when they time their jump-in, but I was wondering if anyone uses that. Deejay’s j.mk gives me problems. I can usually short slide under his j.hk but when they use j.mk that fat fuggin hitbox just lands on me and I usually lose the round right there to a dizzy or something. Or a knockdown and then I get crossed up and god damn I hate dj’s crossup.

Its pretty unreliable to Piano with Dhalsim to Super since 2 or 3 buttons gets you a Reversal Teleport. You can reversal with Dhalsim Super though.

^^^^ I piano one button with two finggers. You’ll never get the teleport then.

Fatboy you’re a genieus.

^^^^ Well… I am not one to brag… but if the shoe fits…
