Dhalsim improvement thread

That would be nerf if you couldn’t stand hp lp fire after throw knockdown, especially since he’s got the new greater throw range. This is easy to test and I’m sure someone with the game will check eventually. As for the apparent range nerf, I’m curious to see how this was tested. I wonder if this has anything to do with the new hit-boxes on the characters I remember reading about. Also Ultra 2 is looking more and more interesting, It gives Sim a high damage threat that doesn’t involve super. If you can use it as aa somehow, I’m going to use it allot more then U1. but then again we don’t know if U1 was buffed any.

Didn’t realize it had that long reach:O You definitly can’t do it instant then? I mean, the ultra has about the same angle as his sniper right, and if you instant air ultra, that wouldn’t give it that much reach? So why tiger knee it? Why can’t you just jump on reaction and input the ultra?

Edit: watched a couple of vids of it, and it seems to auto aim at the opponent? Am I just imagining things?

I wonder if Sim can still punish horizontal Blanka balls on hit now that the range on his st. fierce is shorter.

At 3:16 in this video, Dhalsim does a jump in b.mk, and it seems like he speeds up mad time as he decsends! Was it always like this?:open_mouth:

Yes I tested it today, and it is as fast in sf4… Didn’t really notice that before, since I don’t usually jump in with b.mk to start a combo:P

Sim will be Sagat’s first bad match up of a few I hope. Which will make him less used overall. Which means Gief will be better >:D

Sim was always a bad match for Sagat in the older games so it’ll be interesting that it’s actually going back that way.

might be stupid or noobish question but—

in the seth forums, they mentioned that seth can no longer super/ultra while his sonic boom is on screen [sucks for seth :(]. the person that mentioned it said that its because of an engine change and you can no longer use projectile supers or ultras while that characters regular projectile is on the screen.

does anyone know if sim can still do U1 while his yoga fire is on the screen? i pray to vishnu that its still possible cause that would be a huge huge nerf to sim if it was removed.

They mentioned in an interview that Ryu can’t have a FB and his super out at the same time, but that was called out as an exception to the rule. Sounds like someone bent that into an overall rule instead. I wouldn’t worry about it.

no no, jinrai and mr. wizard have both confirmed that seth also cant do this now, neither with super nor ultra.

They said they are buffing sim’s throw… perhaps we will get a kara throw?

I doubt it. How would they even make that work with sim

Question about U2: can it be executed at any point when you are in the air, or only at a certain height? If it can be done right after IAT, then I think it will certainly be effective against certain characters.

Yes you can IAT U2 at any height.

i see---- well, still doesnt say if anything has happened to sims yogafire/u1 trap, but lets hope nothing did
