Dexter Season 5: Sept. 6th With a New Trailer!

cause playa the first two seasons like sopranos are the ‘learning’ seasons… u get to dwell into the character an his surrounding… after that it goes into story mode to the fullest.

I dunno i guess we can agree to disagree, something about her just bugged me.

Rita won me over when she dressed up as Lara Croft and gave Dex a blow job. I’d have to agree with Koop, John Lithgow was a total mind fuck, he was terrific! Dexter’s brother 2nd, I wasn’t such a fan of Miguel or that season much to be honest.

Speaking of The Wire, I blasted through all 5 seasons within 2weeks, acting in that totally blew me away. Never heard of Boardwalk Empire so I’ll be checking that out.

^This. And her tits. Love her tits.

And what is the wire about?

Basically is about the Baltimore drug scene and the police trying to wipe it out, eventually its leads them to setting up wire taps on the major drug dealers. It has some of the most interesting and deep characters I’ve ever seen in a tv show, won many many awards, I highly recommend it - The Wire Season 1 trailer

Glad you enjoyed my friend… glad. That show had it all… from acting to story line… beautiful

Boardwalk empire you will LOVE if you like good dialog… acting an good setting (1920s). you get to see a young al capone… a rising lucky luchiano [if u know ya mobsters an mafia cats an wanna see their upstarts] an the lifestyle back then (amazing work)… scorsese an mark wahlberg did a excellent job so far with this series…

yeah Boardwalk is incredible

Hey has anyone checked out these Dexter: Early Cuts that Showtime put up on Youtube?

Theyre like an animated comic about dexter during his college years right after harry died and theyre actually pretty dope vignettes.

YouTube - Dexter Early Cuts

i watched all of the wire but was pretty underwhelmed when it come to an end. i wanted more omar and they gave me some lame ass storyline with reporters!

Yeah. I didn’t like S5’s Newspaper storyline either. At least it was still better than most TV out at the time.

yeah the newspaper and the boatyard were both kinda weak. The high school kids storyline was sick though.

good lookin maiden on the early cuts… completely missed that.

i still think The Wire overall was just excellent… i know folks didnt understand omar dyin like he did but take it from someone that been out in them streets… u can get got by anyone especially nowadays… the newspaper was one of the creators jobs an he wanted to point out how even though shyt goes on in the streets that impacts a community it doesnt make front page or concern… an shyt that can be made up or have no real meaning does… if uve never been to baltimore (which is close to me) its a world of its on n the wire took it from EVERY angle… also check generation kill. its a lil mini series that the creators did… its a war joint.

I know people can be got anywhere. I still think what happened to Omar was pretty damn stupid. Even if he had a weakspot for kids, he’d be cautious because of the bounty on his head.

The only thing I liked about how Omar went out was the show was pointing out that sometimes in life “you just don’t see that shit coming.”

That’s what I tell myself. A weaker show would have had Omar going out like a G. When Omar and Brother Mazon killed you-know-who that was a poetic way to die. Omar went out like a chump and it kind of made me sad, but I think the Wire respected it’s audience enough to say “you know, some people dont always go out in a blaze of glory. Sometimes they get killed by stupid shit because they let their guard down for a second.” It just seemed TOO random. Yeah there was a little foreshoadowing, but not much at all. It was almost as if the writers said “hey yo, what are we gonna do with this character, we forgot about him.” and they just rhrew that scene in there.

I also started watching Boardwalk and I agree with everyone the show is hella good, especially since I kind know my Mobsters its cool seeing a young capone. The wire, that show was godlike, I like how it switched it up during the seasons not only just focusing on gangs and drugs.

dont know how far u are in on boardwalk merdoc but you really get to see another side of capone an lucky… damn good.

lmao I wonder what Dexter would do in Baltimore, I loved to see him go up against Snoop and co that bitch was mental.

Well after watching a good 12 hours worth of Dexter in the past three days, I’m finally caught up.

I don’t think they handled the aftermath of Rita’s death well at all.

I miss her.

:frowning:

I for one an enjoying this season a lot. I think they are handling Rita’s death at a very slow but albeit believable rate when it comes to the Dexter character. I think if it wasn’t for Harrison, things would have been played out differently but the fact that he’s so worried about how he’ll turn out is tied in with Rita’s death as well. So in a sense, he’s coping with Rita’s death by trying to be a better father to Harrison (if that makes any sense )

I like the direction they are going with Lumen and Dex. The way they were arguing in the warehouse scene kinda hat the vibe of a father yelling at his daughter because of a mess she got into. Thats what I took from it. I don’t really think Lumen and Dexter will have a romantic relationship but more of a Father/Daughter relationship. She’s going to be someone he can teach much like Harry taught him and that too will help him with his grieving process.

Yeah. That was my key concern over the decision to kill her. While it brought a stinging, powerful answer to the question of “Can Dexter have it all,” it created more work for the writers than I felt they could handle.

Though I guess they felt they needed to switch it up. After Trinity, we might have been saying even worse “where is this going?” comments about this current season if it was about another big bad. It’s like what happened with The Shield. If you were watching up to Season 4, it looked like the Strike Team was ALWAYS going to find a way out of whatever trouble they were in. Then came season 5, which changed things so much.

Yeah, because the writing in Dexter has been soooooooo bad all this time.
