So here’s my prediction/theory on how season 5 will end…or what will happen.
Wasn’t it in the Dexter books that Dexter ended up teach Cody and/or Astor Harry’s code?
Enter Lumen. I think her name is an indication of what type of character she’ll be. Think about the term “illuminate.” Ultimately, i think she’s gonna be good for Dexter. If anything, i believe Dexter will be her “Mentor” and that she’ll assume the role of Cody and Astor from the books. This will be how dexter “heals.”
Semi Spoiler ahead:
If you saw tonights episode, then you saw next weeks trailer. She wants Dex to stop these people, and i believe, initially, that Dex disagrees. She instead decides to go off, and find them herself. I predict that Dex follows her. She finds one of the people and is about to shoot them…
This is where i believe that Dex stops her. He tells her that he won’t kill them, but, he will teach Lumen how to properly do it, putting Dex back in the role of “the father.”
If anything, Lumen is reminiscent to Miguel, however, she isn’t simply going to use Dexter, but instead embrace what he does.
So yeah, read into it how you will, and hope this evokes some discussion, but yeah…I wanna call it now if this happens. If you see flaws in this, speak up!
Zombiehop, I definitely see things going that way, and I’m all for it. Dexter is gonna train her to defend herself, which he alluded to when he told her about how he didn’t want anyone else to get killed like Rita did. What I’ll be interested in seeing is what Deb and others are gonna see when they see him hanging around with her. I just hope this doesn’t go the way Miguel eventually did (She turns on him somehow)

-So after Quinn tried to make a move on Trinity’s son, when will word get out about what he did? How will everyone else react?
-I like the concept of perhaps having a group of people be the main bad guys this season. (When Lumen says there’s more out there then just Boyd who hurt her)
After this episode, I’m a little more excited about where this season could go. It certainly seems a little…grislier/darker then the past few seasons.
The sad part is knowing that the incident that happened to Lumen occurs on a global scale every day. This form of slavery rivals the drug trade both in scope and profit and isn’t as focused upon by law enforcement.
She reminds me of how Nigella Lawsonwill look in her 70s, and that isn’t an insult considering that she’s already in her 50s!
Oooh Dexter started to tingle with excitement at the thought of new prey, he has found a new muse. Lumen will get her revenge, and yes, there will be blood.
Quinn with time off = not good for Dex.
Lastly, I didn’t even realize that it was Julia Stiles until this ep. Can’t wait for her to get cleaned up.
Pretty cool to see Julia Stiles will have a larger role to play this season, I think ZombieHipHop is on the right track. It’s a shame Dex couldn’t get Doakes to trust him :sad:.
I love how Dexter is battling with Harry’s code, he is begining to free himself.
Top notch episode, I did LOL when Lumen wacked Dex over the head with the wrench and bolted, I thought she’d get eaten by a croc, Harry then would appear saying “well that was a freebie!” 
Not at all…CapMaster is right though. If Dexter openly hangs around her there will be problems. And will give Quinn even more shit to go off on.

Of course she’s staying, same reason why as soon as Robocop appeared I knew he was going to play a bigger role. You can’t use big name actors like spare parts.
But yes, Lumen getting searched was a tense scene. I thought she was going to freak out, assault the officer and get arrested. Either that or she stupidly had a gun/knife on her.
