Dex somehow flip it to make it seem like Doakes is the BHB? I kind of figured that would happen.
Quick summary of the episode.

Dexter becomes paranoid by the FBI agents tailing, thinking that they figured out that he’s the killer. Later, they bring him in to get some answers from about the blood slides. They found them in Doakes’ car when he went on a quick trip to Haiti. Ironically, to secure a safe location to get the slides analyzed. Doakes becomes the prime suspect. Throughout the entire episode Dexter tries to head back to the cabin where he killed Jimenz in the episode before. However he’s sidetracked by the FBI guys and Lila. As Dexter is getting rid of the body, he’s confronted by Doakes who has discovered the remains. They fight it out, but Dexter ends up knocking him out. The episode ends with Dexter leaving Doakes locked up in the same cabin where he killed Jimenez. Doakes screams out, “You’re going to have to kill me Morgan!”.
Aw man, this isn’t the Dexter’s Laboratory thread? Ugh, do they even make new ones anymore? Used to be so awesome.
This is by far the best show on TV BAR NONE! This show doesn’t let up for a moment.
I think it’s one of the few times I got to say that the cinematography on a TV show for some of the scenes around Miami is beautiful. Esp. the sunset highway scene.

[details=Spoiler] Finally your assholish, too-cool-for-school attitude finally caught up with him. I knew Lundy wasn’t suspecting Dex.
-Deb is officially one clusterfuck of a chick, Geezus man she must love having drama in her life. Now that she’s outed herself boning Lundy she’s on the hate list of the entire dept.
-Lila is a crazy bitch, for those who didn’t know. Now that Dex is trying to rekindle his relationship with Rita, how will avoid this crazy broad from messing him up… still this is the least of his problems now.
-Dex is some deep doo doo, with Doakes finally having absolute proof of his indiscretions and now trapped in a cocaine hut- not to mention Dex being stabbed! Even if he makes it back in time he’s gonna have to remove the bullet and inject himself with morphine to handle the pain.
FBI dude: What happened? Why are you limping?
Dex: Uh… I fell in the shower.

I’m thinking Dexter is going to have to do some McGuyver shit to make it past this season.
I don’t think Deb outed herself.
Season 2 has definitely squashed season 1 so far, and S1 didn’t suck.
If Dex decides to get rid of his big problem the old-fashioned way, I won’t know how to feel about it. Something tells me he’s going to try hard to go the other way though.
But I really don’t see a way out of this. I was thinking…

Lila somehow finds out about Dex’s problem and kills Doakes for him. Then Dex kills Lila on account of Harry’s code. But then Doakes wouldn’t be alive.

After this season is up I think Imma post up a list of similarities and differences I 've noticed so far from the 2nd season of Dexter compared to the 2nd book.
I always find it funny how Doakes is Special Ops with perfect aim but in 3 different confrontations Dexter has owned him with his souless killing intent (aka Advanced Jujitsu).
Well said. Doakes can’t outright kill Dexter, because that obviously wouldn’t end well, and if he brought him in in one peice, he’d have a better shot at clearing his name.
Episode 9 was really good, I can’t wait for the next one.

I personally believe that even if Doakes faced Dex in a direct mano-a-mano fight he’d still lose.

Yeah, I’d have to agree: Doakes is probably much more capable than Dexter when it comes to physical combat (see his black-ops history in South America), but it’s just that he underestimates Dexter, and he has to work within the confines of the law. I mean, come on. . .you wouldn’t expect a lab technician/blood-spatter analyst to be good in physical combat situations.
I still geek out whenever I see the scene from Season 1, when Dexter put the lockdown on Doakes at the shipping crate storage yard. . .damn, that was pretty badass.
Doakes has to pretty much be ultra careful around dexter. If Dexter dies, Doakes is FUCKED. It will basically confirm everything about Doakes being the BHB.
I always get a chuckle out of this part, though it’s not that funny:

When Dex first started working on his blood slides in the lab and wiped his prints off, saying “I guess I won’t be finding any prints or DNA on this box. I can chalk that up to how careful Doakes is.”
Yes that is one of my favorite scenes.
Doakes is obviously a stronger and skilled guy, no going around that, but if you look at his confrontations Dexter is so quick to go at the vitals which makes strength irrelevant. Going at the vitals don’t = death either so there was nothing preventing Doakes from restraining Dex in a similar manner… unless his movements just aren’t as precise. When I made my judgment it was based on the fact that Doakes is a cop trying to bring him in, not a special ops killing machine, this is why I think Dex would have a higher chance.
I’m not saying that Dex is better but because of his lack of emotion his killing intent it evens the scenario out , anything can happen when an advanced jujitsu serial murderer faces off with a hardboiled former special ops marksman.

Only complaint about this episode was the fact that they are fucking up their own continuity. Not the book’s, because we know they have departed from that, but:
As in the book, season one reveals that the morphine nurse that was trying to OD Harry was Dexter’s first kill. Now they are trying to claim that a pimp was and that is what caused Harry to die by ending his own life? Bullshit man…
