Dexter Season 5: Sept. 6th With a New Trailer!

I thought he has happy and relieved because Dex killing him and such was what god wanted and that it was fate, knowing that he also killed Rita he accepted it.

He also had to finish his cycle so what a perfect way.

When he found Rita in the tub that’s when he discovered she was dead. That scene would make zero sense if he was the one who killed her in the first place. I’m not really sure what you’re getting at. Listen to his talk with trinity, listen to his talk with imaginary dad. I don’t see how anyone can get from this episode that Dexter killed Rita.

It would only make sense if he had two distinct personalities who are unaware of each others actions (extreme schizophrenia).

And again, don’t just overlook what has been said about Dexter’s cover becoming real to him. Compare his behavior to his close ones in season 1 to season 4. World of difference.

The viewership on the last episode was huge. I just hope the series doesn’t take this success as a reason to drag on the show. I really can’t see more than two more seasons tops.

“It’s Already Over” is the hint that trinity gave to dexter in which he hit Dexter where it hurts.

No, it wasn’t “trinity fashion”. Rita’s death was completely out of Trinity’s modus operandi.

It was purely a revenge kill, and had jack shit to do with his cycle work.

LOL but still everything you need to know is right there in the episode. I didn’t quite understand what you meant either but that’s kind of my point. It’s like people needed some interviews to clarify stuff that was right there the screen! It’s season 4, you should have a sense of how the show works by now.

Just think about how many people watched streams, and how many people that don’t have Showtime will just download it.

Scary

In the books Dexter trains Rita’s kids so I think that COULD BE where they are going. Harrison’s “dark passenger” was born last night so we at least know Dexter is going to be there to help him. Maybe it will skip forward a few years to when Harrison is a young boy who is showing sociopathic tendencies. Maybe dexter will kind of stop killing as much and focus on his kids or maybe hell send Aster and Cody to live with their grandparents. Im sure the writers have SOME idea where they are going to go.

I think the main story is going to be Deb and Quinn snooping around and coming close/uncovering the truth.

I think Trinity killed Rita sometime before he picked his mustang. He looked really satisfied on that drive before dexter showed up. At the time dexter was tracking trinity and had believed that Rita had already left and wasnt able to check the message she sent til he got home from the kill. Im honestly kind of glad rita died, the bad acting from the woman who portrayed her kind of dragged down the show sometimes.

ALSO: Has anyone else found the Harry/Dexter’s Mental Personification of the code scenes to have gotten somewhat over the top and almost comical
lately?

PPS: Did anyone find Dexters spazzout in front of the cops with the guy on the phone kind of out of character?

on point thinking imo. as far as the spazzout that was suppose to be out of his character, pent up stress from having 4 different active roles.

i never liked rita, but i didn’t wanna see her go out like that.

I’m still in fucking awe and shock over that ending. But Rita isn’t dead because of those shots of Harrison’s 1st birthday that were shown right before that. So Booty Benz will be back in Season 5 and I’m down for whatever the writers wanna take this shit.

She’s gone. Believe it. I just read an Ausiello article talking about it with a writer, asking why it was done.

I guess the series has started departing from the books. I can’t really see the series changing towards the direction of the books.

That was before Dexter found out that Rita died, he was imagining his future as a father, not what actually happens.

There are links in the thread that explain that the actor that plays her is done with the show. She was sort of upset about it, but understands that things like this happen in television.

Kinda surprised they didn’t go further with the whole Dexter’s past, and Debra finding out about Brian.

:u: hell no! Not yet to soon maybe season 6

that was just an “imagination”. pretty sure rita croft is dead.

This statement is so horribly wrong I don’t even know how to address it properly. He lies to protect the people he cares for. Despite his need to kill, wich you could say is a good thing because he only kills those who have hurt/killed and done despicable things without remorse to other people, Dexter is a good person, and he has shown it throughout each season.

On another note, I did enjoy this season, but I would not say that it was better than seasons 1 or 2. The first two seasons were the absolute bread and butter of this show. There were way too many pointless side-stories involved in seasons 3 and 4, and alot of characters getting screen-time who really dont add anything to the show, ie: Batista and LaGuerta.

Also if you are a Michael Hall fan, you should check out Gamer. His performance in that was pretty fantastic.

Have you even been watching this season? Seriously. Right after the Thanksgiving at Arthur’s, Dex basically says Rita and the kids are more than cover. When he kills that female cop who killed her family to be free, he makes such noise about how he could never do what she did. I’m sure I’m forgetting more signs that point to the family actually meaning something to him. In this season and in past ones.
For the record, I don’t think it’s “right” storywise for a sociopath like Dex to “mature” like he’s done, but he’s clearly done that.

I don’t think Dexter is necessarily A GOOD PERSON, considering he’s cost 3 “innocent” people their lives: the photographer, the real Kyle Butler, and now Rita. I don’t know if you can even consider him a just person. He kills, because he needs to kill, and was channel by his father to kill less savory individuals. This doesn’t make him a good person. And the fact that he loves his family doesn’t make him a good person either. His foolishness really came back to bite him in the ass this season, and I don’t know how I’m going to feel about Dex the character after this.

I’ve never liked Yagami Light in Death Note, and always rooted for L to win, because Light did kill innocent people. Dexter was different, because he never killed innocents, not even to cover his tracks - until this season. I was rooting hard for him this season, and I thought I’d see Dexter finally rid himself of the Dark Passenger and be redeemed somewhat. Now I don’t know what to think of him.

Anyone that identifies with light in death note is some teeny bopper pre pubescent hormonal fucknut emo twilight cunt gargling assclown retard.

if you are reading this and you identify with him, please PLEASE kill yourself.
